The place smells like cigarette smoke and other than me nobody is masked. The beer selection is smaller than most places.

I had gone there many years ago and had many of the same complaints however about a year ago I retried and was pleasantly surprised by changes that were made. I now go every few weeks for different craft beers and other "necessities" and always find it to be very well stocked, clean, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The best part about Total Discount - they let you do mix-six packs! From what I have found, they are one of the remaining stores in the area that allow this. I highly recommend them for anything you may need liquor wise and if you are into different craft beers, this is hands down the only place to go in Carroll County. Side note - no one has ever asked or tried to make a copy of my license there. My feeling of this story is that the cashier probably wanted to SCAN the barcode on the back of the ID. That's not for creating a database as the store is strictly prohibited from doing that by law unless the customer gives consent. Maryland DOES HIGHLY RECOMMEND that each store scan all IDs with liquor sales to ensure the ID isn't fake. Many stores have a policy to do this, due to State and Local pressure. Certainly you can't hold the store accountable for this.

They didn't have the specific brand I was looking for, but showed me where the rum was located after looking it up in their system. They have several check out lines and I was assisted right away. I'm not sure what bottles usually cost so I can't speak to cost-effectiveness, but I did notice there is a frequent buyers program and sales were posted throughout the store.

I don't know what the big deal is about this place regarding negative reviews…read more Honestly, I really don't drink a whole lot, but when I need to buy alcohol, this is the place. They have a vast collection for a small space. You can't go wrong giving this place a shot. They're friendly, courteous, and reasonably priced.

I'll give everyone the quick lowdown as to what exactly happened:…read more I call Sunny's around 4pm asking if they still have a certain seasonal beer in stock, and the lady that answered the phone said they do indeed have some left. I asked how much is left, and she proceeded to tell me 5 bottles. I tell her to hold the 5 remaining bottles and that I would be there that night by 830pm, since I had work until 8. I arrived to Sunny's around 830pm and shop around for a quick minute to see if they have any other interesting craft beer. While I'm walking down the aisle, I happen to notice 4 bottles sitting on the shelf, which is the exact same beer I had called about a few hrs earlier. I pick up the 4 bottles I saw, walk up the counter, and explain to the lady at the counter that I called ahead about this particular beer. So why were these beers blatantly sitting on the shelf for anyone to grab and buy? I honestly have no idea. Also, why when I first called this store did the individual I spoke with tell me there were 5 bottles left? When there were indeed 9 bottles total remaining at the store? To top it all off, the lady at the register tells me that if I buy all 9, I will receive 15% off. She then goes to get her "manager", whom then explains that I don't receive any discount, and that I have to pay 11.99 x 9, since there were 9 bottles. I then gave her a funny look and said "Really? You're not going to provide me with any discount after purchasing all 9 of these expensive bottles?" She shook her head and simply said no. I work at a liquor store too and the thing I value most is customer service. Do I consider my experience today with Sunny's Liquors as good customer service? Heck no. And I would hope anyone who reads this would feel the exact same way as me. I know I won't ever be going back.

We want to be seated...... Once we were seated it took awhile for sever to come over. I actually had to stop one of the serves walking around to ask if anyone was working this section. Finally the person behind the bar came over to take our order. The food is delicious. I love when real corn beef is on the menu and not just on a Reuben. The Irish grits were a new thing I didn't know I needed. The flavors gel so well together. I'll go back again to try dinner but I sure hope for a better reception.

It was fun to watch the crowd of customers anticipate their 3-4 course meal w pairings. I researched afterward and saw they're just about monthly, $65 which is a steal, and it appears they sell out. Definitely worth participating. I have 50 11 food allergies so I may have to sit this one out. Another great visit down in the books!!

At first glance, it's pretty bare bones inside--but don't let that fool you. Grab a seat, because the food is where this place shines. The menu is packed with creative, unexpected options like a cinnamon toast panini, a Mongolian steak sandwich, honey Old Bay house smoked salmon, and even a "sloppy goodness" lamb burger topped with French onion soup. I went with the hamburger "Mac style," and Tom had the smoked beef brisket Philly. Honestly? One of the best burgers I've ever had--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and just done right. If you're anywhere within driving distance, go check this place out. It's one of those spots you'll be glad you found.

Meals are made to order, so we enjoyed relaxing and getting caught up with one another. My sister-in-law ordered the Smoked Beef Brisket Philly and chose the German potato side salad--she specifically returned to try that side again. I had the Sloppy Goodness, a delicious moist lamb burger topped with a non-traditional French onion soup and melted Provolone on a brioche bun. My broccoli slaw side was great as well. We enjoyed everything so much that we left no leftovers behind. We had hoped to share a chocolate mousse, but it was sold out--just another reason to come back. Portions were filling for us, and my dish was pure comfort food. The Bistro also offers two private rooms for small gatherings. We went on a weekday afternoon, it's a charming spot for a relaxed, unhurried meal and conversation. A place I wouldn't be surprised to find as a local hangout.

Great pressed Cuban sandwich, best grouper sandwich, good food…read more We were out on Liberty road, near Oscar's Alehouse in Eldersburg MD, and we remembered the excellent grouper sandwiches we've had here. They were good as the ones we got fresh in Florida. We wanted takeout this time, and decided on their $16 Cuban pressed sandwich. It's layers of tender thin-sliced slow-roasted pork, ham, and Swiss cheese. The bread is like a french baguette, pressed and crispy-toasted, spread with yellow mustard and tangy dill-pickle chips. It's a rich handful of a sandwich. It came with generous hot soft boardwalk-style fries. Oscar's was quick and friendly. The sandwich was excellent!

I decided to try their house beer, Oscar's Lucky 12 to start. Drinks came out very quickly. By the time he was back with them we decided on what we wanted to eat. The menu is American Pub Fare. I had the Turkey Avocado Club that came with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious and pilled high with freshly sliced turkey. Fries were crispy and delicious as well. Definitely a 5 for the food. I ordered their seasonal Brown Sugar Whiskey Sour. Man it was heavy on the sour. Not something I would get against The service was a definite 5 as well. Everyone there was nice and welcoming. I want to go back soon on a Wednesday night to see how good the wings are for the special that day.

A cute little wine and gift shop, hosting Friday and Saturday outdoor concerts…read more We love this little wine shop, both for it's offerings, but especially for the weekend concerts and the outdoor umbrellaed tables. We drove up on a Saturday late afternoon in Aug 2025 and found parking across Main Street. There are other free lots nearby and sometimes a free shuttle around town on Sat and Sun. While waiting for the music, we staked out a table among some that people had reserved ahead of time in front of the wine shop, with other tables just outside the lot and more across the quiet side-street. From the wine shop, we got a nice little pinot noir to take home. They offered plastic glasses and a bucket full of ice, so we could have had that during the concert. They also have beers and ciders, gourmet snacks, and many clever and original accessories and crafts. The wine shop's owner encouraged up to walk to nearby Joe's Deli, and across to the Patapsco Distillery where the band set up under a small canopy, and we also got some food and drink from them for our table. And there's a sweet little ice cream shop across Main Street too! The band played light rock and folk and people were relaxed in conversations and enjoyment of the music. The gentle breeze kept us cool under sun-shielding umbrellas. This is nicely done weekly pair of concert, and the welcoming hostess and cooperative nearby shops make this a pleasant way to visit Sykesville on a Friday or Saturday evening, continuing through Nov 8th.

A delightful and whimsical wine shop…read more From first glance, Vine on Main looks like a fairy hut, or at the very least, a hippie's hideaway. Colorful clothing hang up in display, palm size houses tucked away behind rocks, and a cozy outdoor seating area are the first things to great you as you approach the store. Once inside, you'll find yourself in a claustrophobic den, filled with locally made goods such as clothing, foodstuffs, and art as well as wall to wall wines. Choices are plenty despite the small size of the store and at reasonable prices. For those living nearby, be sure to check out Vine on Main's wine club to get more wine at better values. The real highlight of Vine on Main is the owner, who is the sweetest woman you'll meet. She's highly knowledgeable about all the products in the shop, even the non-alcoholic ones and is more than happy to share information about them. Not only does she have excellent wine and booze recommendation, but she'll even offer some free samples if you ask her nicely. Plan on shopping around the area? She'll take your order, bag it, and leave it to the side so that you can pick it up when you're all done instead of lugging around heavy bottles. If you're in the area looking to buy some good wine or just want to spend some time with a fun and interesting woman, then check out the Vine on Main.
