My go to liquor store. They keep in stock two of my favorites. With the exception of a huge selection of so much more. The two favorite of mine that l can't find in every liquor store would be My Jim Beam Apple liqueur whiskey. So good that l can drink it straight or on the rocks. Good selection of beers, enough craft beer to satisfy me, but much more in the mass market domestic/import variety. Prices were fine as well. Worth noting that all of the beer is cold, so you can only buy what you can refrigerate right away. My wish: Build your own six pack would be a great addition. There are a decent amount of solo tall boys, but not really of craft beers. I like to buy singles to try new beers rather than a while six pack. read more

The walk-in beer and wine cooler is larger than some liquor stores I've visited!! Latela's liquor store is perfect for instant gratification, just grab some interesting pre-chilled beer and get to someplace where you can drink it :) Very nice selection of craft and mass-market brews and they're all cold, cold, cold! It's a little scruffy with basically zero windows, don't let that bother you. Prices are competitive but not especially low. They use old-school sticky orange price tags on the bottles of liquor and wine because the shelves don't have labels. But it's really frustrating that the beer prices in the cooler are not marked, you have to leave the cooler and have a cashier consult their very dog-eared and ratty list to solve that little mystery. This place is absolutely great for getting a case of standard American beer or wine from a well-known producer. But otherwise I have to disagree with Craig R. and Yashpal S.; this is NOT the best liquor store in the area. That award goes to a place in the costco shopping center just 5 miles north-west on 175 which shall remain nameless here, but the first word is "perfect" and the second word rhymes with "four", just check the yelp reviews. read more

Latela's off of Rt 175 in Hanover has been around FOREVER and for that matter, so have their entry doors. They are to put it mildly, disgusting. I don't think they have been replaced or cleaned since the beginning of time. The inside also leaves a lot to be desired. The store needs to replace the doors, clean everything inside and then maybe I'll start going there instead of going miles away to other liquor stores. My husband doesn't mind going in, I sit in the car. The selection and prices are good, but the place need some serious renovating!!! read more

My sister came into the store on 4/24 looking for champagne. The gentleman at the counter told us where it was, but we couldn't find it so we asked again. The woman at the counter (didn't get her name, but blond, older aged woman) snapped at us and was extremely rude. She said verbatim, "I'm not having a good day. Today isn't the day". She was making very "Karen" racist remarks, and at one point even called us "shaqueeta". I'm extremely disappointed on my experience here. If your employees are having a bad day, perhaps they should just stay home and not take it out on paying customers. read more

By far, this is the best liquor store in the area. I gladly make the trip here (it's a little ways from where I live) whenever I need some alcoholic beverages for a shindig, party or hang out. They have every kind of beer here. I've never gone into there not leaving with what I wanted. They have everything from the most random to the mainstream. The large walk-in freezer is nice even though I get extremely cold trying to pick out what I want. On the right side of the store they have tons of liquor to choose from. What sets them apart are the cashiers. There are two that work here consistently. I've been heading here for about a year and a half and I've never seen another cashier. They joke around with you and it makes for a very enjoyable experience. So much so that I go out of my way to patronize this store. read more

I just had the absolute worst experience at this store. I went to check out and the woman behind the counter rang my order up, but for some reason, their credit card transactions weren't working. Unfortunately, this set her off and she took it out on me. I was trying to be patient and figure out a solution and she was so rude it was uncalled for. For instance, I said something like, "I have time" and she was like, "I'm here all day ... I have time too" in a snotty way. The other cashier tried to help me but the other lady kept chiming in and saying stuff to me like, "I don't know what you want me to do" I'm sorry you are frustrated but what I want you to do is try to do your job and ring me up without being a horrible person about it. read more

Rude and impatient!! The middle age middle eastern guy with the dark rimmed eyeglasses is extremely rude. I was here earlier this evening to check lottery tickets. The older middle eastern man was hitting his hand on the lottery machine as if I was Taking too long, he.then started to sigh. This is the second time I have went into this store and had this same experience with this particular cashier. I think he is afraid of black people. I notice him dealing with a white male customer and he was very relaxed not rushing the white customer at all. I will take my $$$ somewhere else since Black people frighten you! read more

Latela's has been there, which seems like forever, before I can remember. The selection is great, the employees are great. They have a very big cooler with beer and wine, and other selections. The only drawback is that in the cooler, no prices are displayed, so it is hard to shop, when relying on an old fashioned paper price list at the register. But, their prices are fair and comparable to any other place in the area. Nice employees and good selection, just display your prices. read more

Great Selection. Reminds me of the quality selection you will find in any beer distributor in PA. However, the selection is offset by the over weight condescending cashier. Every time I have been here he makes some smart aleck remark to the effect that he makes the supposition that all the customers are mentally defunct and incapable of reading the beer labels. When purchasing a sleeve of pounder cans he may feel it is necessary to ask you if you "know those are 16oz cans?" To which you should reply, "no sir I do not have the necessary skills to read a beer box" or "really? I thought those were free standing 1's and 6's on the label, i never thought to put them together to form the number 16". Similarly, 24oz cans that come in packs of 12 totaling the volume of a normal case of beer are more expensive than 30 packs which would then contain more volume. He will more than likely remind you that what you are purchasing is "24oz cans" when you remark that they are more expensive than a 30 pack which means you are paying for the novelty of an oversized can. This guy is so annoying and I would frequent this place way more if I didn't get so mad every time I went there. read more
