Very nice place with a decent selection of small plates and drinks. A bit pricy, but really nice. Vegetarian/Vegan only.

Lovely place with delicious Pad Thai (no peanuts!). Tucked away but deserving of plenty of love. The place feels low key and kind and the food was amazing and filling. Prices might be high but feel completely fair and even cheap compared to the nearby places.

    The Mystic Smoothie Bowl

This cute little spot is AMAZING!! It's 100% plant based and the staff are so kind. They have take out or you can eat outside. We went here twice on our two day stay and had their Mystic Smoothie Bowl. Their granola is so good - I wish they had it in a giant bag for me to take back to the mainland with me! Thank you Yayu! We'll be back

I took a two-month hiatus from my job to travel the western United States and Canada with my good friends. Needless to say, I saw a great number of surf shops and campgrounds. This place. This place? It does both. It has the most dope, unassuming, chill, and friendly surf shop on the same piece of land where the campground is. The campground is hidden back in this awesome old-growth pacific northwest rain forest-like area with picturesque moss and gigantic trees everywhere. There is a huge communal fire pit near the parking lot for campers to enjoy. There are also bathrooms and, I believe showers, if I remember correctly, on site. Now the surf shop. This is not some freaking commercial, mall-type Billabong, or chain boardwalk surf shop. This is a lets-get-you-on-the-waves kind of surf shop. It has what you NEED and nothing else. If you are a surfer with your own board, then they have you covered with things you might need like wax, fins, and a wet suit if you don't have your own. If you are a surfer w/o a board, because, for example, you are like me and your mode of transport didn't allow for it, then they also have you covered. Why? Because, these guys have some of the most competitive surfboard rentals in the Tofino-Ucluelet area. Pair that with the discount you get if you are camping here and this place is prime. We had been staying at some crap resort (McKenzie Beach Resort) up near Tofino where people were packed in like sardines with campsites on the freaking road. We bounced and moved here. Good move. This place is super laid back and has awesome staff manning the surf shop (a family and friends operation from what I can tell). I'm originally from the Midwest and learned to surf on one of the Great Lakes (Lake Superior). Why is this relevant you ask? Well, they had "Surf's Up" on every morning in the Surf Shop and you could go in, grab a cup of Joe, catch the surf forecast for the day, and watch Chicken Joe (home break: "The Elbow" Sheboygan, Lake Michigan) get barrelled on the TV. One of the coolest places I was on my whole two-month trip.

Great place! A good stopover after your day at the beach for a drink or a small bite.read more

The nearby Bamfield Pub was either closed or out of business. The outdoor deck with tables is a nice shaded place to eat, so we decided to give it a go. Turns out both the menu and the ordering of food items happens not at your table, but at the cashier of the Market which is at the same store-front but a different and seemingly unassociated entrance - confusing at first, but manageable. We ordered a BLTC (what's that? a Bacon Lettuce & Tomato sandwich with a slice of American cheese) and a grilled ham & cheese. Both sandwiches were prepared promptly and served with fries - the sandwiches were edible but nothing special - I removed the slice of American cheese from mine - while common in these parts, it's not a plus. The fries were pretty standard, and offered with gravy or ketchup -- we took the ketchup packets and had to squeeze a lot of them out to get that working. So, do I recommend this restaurant? If you're hungry, they serve food, and they are your only restaurant option at lunchtime (at least when we were in town). So yes, I'd go again. Would I recommend the food? Not really -- nothing wrong with it, but C$ 35.70 for two sandwiches and fries was a bit pricey for such marginal quality. On the other hand, they are remote, so one can be glad that they offer anything at all. The other half of the operation (the Market part) is tiny with very limited selection, but they do offer many of the things Pacific Coast Trail hikers need. So while your options are limited, what they have should get you through (including some good ice-cream bars).

However, this little cafe, located right beside The Market, Bamfield's general store, is the perfect little reprieve for those that hunger for a good meal before an epic adventure or just returning from one. You won't be blown away by mind altering flourishes of culinary wizardry, but you will be presented with wonderfully large portions and deliciously prepared meals. Seating is plentiful and the serving staff (consisting of just one waitress) is very friendly and welcoming. You may need to flag her down if the place gets a little hectic, but she is quick to come over and help you with what you need. We came here for both breakfast and lunch and in both instances the food here left me satisfied and well fed. For lunch, their seafood chowder was quiet good, with good portions of fish and shrimp. My favourite though was their Bammer-time breakfast: hash browns, choice of sausage/bacon/ham, eggs any way you want them, avocados, and hollandaise sauce - all in one bowl. Whoa. It was definitely Bammer-time. And yes, the bowl was totally bigger than my head. Bonus: The cafe and the general store share the same wifi, which is free!

A very friendly couple runs it, serving up fresh handmade food and drinks. They have a core menu of coffee/tea and sandwiches, and rotating feature drinks and baked goods. The food was great. I got a hot honey "halloumi" bagel, a slice of carrot pistachio bundt cake, and a watermelon refresh matcha. The "halloumi" bagel (which is actually made with tofu) was interesting and very tasty, with tofu, avocado, cucumber, and lots of slaw (with more on the side). I love the sweet/spicy/savoury thing so it was no surprise that I loved this sandwich. The carrot pistachio cake was like a carrot cake with a subtle Middle Eastern twist from the pistachios and rose petals. Fresh and moist cake, not too sweet even with the glaze. The watermelon matcha was also really good! It did turn a swampy colour when stirred, but the flavours went well together! It was also very appreciated that they used actual watermelon juice instead of a syrup. Seems like they used a pretty good matcha too. $15 bagel, $8 cake, $7.5 matcha. This was kind of expensive, but seems like everything in Tofino is pricy, and this passed the quality check. Also worth noting that because the food is made to order, you may have to wait a while. My matcha was out in less than 5 minutes but the bagel took 15-20 minutes. Definitely give them a try if you're nearby and want to try a coffee shop with some different offerings!

I came at 11 on a weekday and it was quiet, but I saw them get very busy at other times. Lise's benny was delicious! It wasn't a totally conventional combination of ingredients but it all worked together so well. I thought the hollandaise sauce was so good - it was the perfect consistency, no oiliness. The "tofu egg" was silken tofu with an agedashi-style breading. The breading made it not seem very egg-like to me, but it was good. I loved the spicy chicken nuggets too! I got a side house salad instead of the hashbrowns. The house salad was actually very good and substantial, not just some greens thrown on the plate. I got a golden chai latte to drink. It was made with a golden (turmeric) chai teabag which gave it a more complex flavour than turmeric lattes made with just turmeric. The benny was $20 and the latte was $6.5 (obviously with no alt milk charge). These were some of the most reasonable prices I experienced in Tofino, especially for a full service restaurant and considering the complexity of the dish. My waitress always came by at the right time and was very friendly. I came back later to just buy a sticker (saw they had stickers and meant to get one when I was there for brunch but just forgot), and the person who helped me then was also pleasant.

The mushroom calamari was so delicious, I wanted to eat it all! & the buffalo wrap was 10/10 & quite filling with the side of fries it came with. This matcha latte was the earthiest I have ever had. It was cold so it hit the spot & the presentation alone was pretty. It's a simple & clean place, the parking situation might be a bit overwhelming in the busier months but loved this place for sure.
