I can't recommend Kevin enough! Always so happy with the end result of my cut. He listens to my asks, is honest about his opinion, is caring from start to finish, and takes pride in his work. His skill and experience definitely show in how fast yet expertly he can get the cut + blowout done. Yashi tends to be busy on the weekends, so calling in advance is always a good idea. I notice that their walk-ins don't have to wait more than 30mins or so, and you can stroll over to the many cafes in the area while you wait to be called. It's clean and well-maintained salon, with lots of hairdressers. It doesn't smell like the cleaning chemicals that a lot of salons use, and I like whatever brand of shampoo+conditioner they use to wash- it's very mild, as though you had washed it yourself. My cut was $35+tip, which is far more than worth it for the quality of Kevin's work and the blow dry at the end. I asked for bouncy, blunt layers starting at the chin; full, round ends; and for a visible separation between the short and long layers. Thank you DANNY for giving me the most satisfactory women's long haircut - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Fairly priced, cut & wash at $30 as of February 2024. Easy communication in English, polite, and comfortable experience. He immediately understood my style after showing a few quick photos & brief description: thinned out feathered ends, no blunt cuts, layered but balanced and smooth, no super short layers/bangs. It's difficult for me to trust new hair stylists, especially after moving around... I've gotten all sorts of unsatisfactory cuts from difficult communication to unbalanced thick layers, but I had no issues with Danny :) Salon was very clean and in a decent location, right next door to coffee while you wait. Tons of customers but plenty of barbers available, so wait was not long. I saw men getting their fresh cuts in and out within 20 minutes looking sharp. Service was amazing, and lady at the front was so friendly, she even was the one to immediately wash my hair and offered me to wait on a seat in the back. Don't recall the name of the man who cut my hair. Wanted face framing layers with a round U shape in the back. I honestly was happy with my hair after he blew it out but then he took the scissors to my hair again and added these jagged, choppy layers. Unfortunately don't love how it turned out since it makes my hair look really thin in a mullet like way... and the front pieces are visibly uneven lol I def shouldve done more research and requested someone in particular or forked over more cash for a cut that doesn't make me sad lol read more

Beware: horribly inconsistent service. The first time I went to Yashi, the haircut I got was what I asked for: a basic bob no layers. Basically a trim. Today, I went in and asked for a cut of 1.5 inches off length. No changes to my style. The man who cut my hair (Kevin) took off 3-4 INCHES and completely changed the style. My hair went from near my shoulders to higher than my chin. He said mid-cut, "Your hair is longer than it looks...your hairline gets weird the shorter it gets." Unbelievably unprofessional. It's lopsided and double the length off than I asked for. He started in the back and tilted my head down, so I couldn't see what he was doing. By the time my head was lifted, my hair was gone. I'll never come back here, and it's enough for me to warn others not to come here. I think this man actually doesn't know how to cut women's hair. This will take me months and months to grow out. I was just wanting a trim for Valentine's day and a wedding I have coming up. I'm so angry. I feel awful with this new cut. read more

I haven't updated my review in a while, but I have been to Linda to get my hair colored multiple times the past 4 years. She has done a great job each time! Sometimes I feel like she can read my mind because I'll have a color in mind that I lowkey want but I'm too scared to ask for or try out. I'm always concerned about the damage bleaching would do to my hair or whether it would break off. It makes me hesitant to go for the colors that I want sometimes. She'll work with me and keep that in mind, and I end up with a color that's better than what I imagined! My only complaint is that the prices have increased significantly throughout the years. read more

Came in to get a haircut and hair dye by Linda on Thursday (7/10), after about 7 hours and $320 later..the pink hair dye "lasted" til Wednesday (7/16). Barely 6 days and 1 wash later, parts of the blonde/bleached were showing. Was told since it's a "fashion" color that it wouldn't last long, but I did not expected it to not last for even a week. This establishment was surprisingly full on my first visit, and were greeted as soon as I stepped in. I had called to schedule an appointment to come in that day for a root touch up, but the person on the phone insisted that I come in as a walk-in, which I did. Prior to how it proceeded, they kept the hair dye on my roots for so long that it burned my entire scalp. As a result, my dandruff problems had returned after a long absence. The work was terrible, and I would not recommend or return to this establishment. Also I still had hair dye stuck to my hairline.. never have I had that problem. read more

Beautiful and affordable trim! As soon as I came for a walk-in, I was taken in right away. Servie was really quick. Most of the stylists spoke vietnamese and you could hear everyone talking to one another and they all seemed really close. I was sat in the hair wash chair right away which is always my favorite part of a hair cut. My stylist was a male who shaved his head because he didn't want to deal with his own hair which was hilarious. He was super down to earth, easygoing and knew exactly what my hair needed. I had dyed my own hair and there were a lot of dead hair he needed to take off. He did the best he could to keep my length while adding layers and trimming off dead hair. He followed by styling it with a straightener and I left the chair feeling really confident, healthy and light. Parking is convenient and easy as you can park in the plaza or even to the plaza next door. I highly recommend! read more

I am not one to leave reviews but I had to from this horrible experience. Do yourself a favor and never get your hair done here. I initially went in for just a haircut and showed her a picture of a "mushroom brown" hair color I liked. I told her I wasn't going to do it unless she was SURE she could get me there. She told me yes with confidence. $300 and 4 hours later this is what I am left with. I sent her my current hair photo and asked if she can fix it and she told no and that I would have to pay. I don't think she's even capable of fixing her own mistake. I would not come back. This is such a poor hair job and I am angry I have to pay even more to fix her mistake. This review is for Linda! I had previous dark brown box dye on my hair and wanted to achieve an ashy beige blonde balayage. I was aware that going blonde will be a process especially with dark box dyed hair. Linda told me that since my hair is dry and damaged towards the ends, she will start with a weaker bleach at the bottom of my hair and a stronger one at the top of my hair. As we progressed, she noticed that my hair was able to take the stronger bleach. The end results turned out great without her undermining the integrity of my hair. I'm happy she was patient while doing my hair and honest with me in order to keep my hair at its healthiest. I got a little trim as well to even out my hair and cut off the spilt ends. Total was $270 including the hair cut. It was pretty affordable going blonde considering how long my hair is. Overall, I'm in love with my hair and how it came out!! i've seen some bad reviews about Linda but I personally had a great experience with her! You have to be conscious that everyone's hair is different and takes color different as well. I would recommend my friends coming to linda for their balayage needs. read more

Walked in to get a haircut this morning and was impressed! Firstly this salon is located in the T&K plaza and right next to Da Vien on the outside edge facing the street. I'm writing this because I had literally no idea where this was and I've been to Da Vien plenty of times. I was able to walk in and get seated right away but this salon definitely gets busy so book an appointment ahead of time. Dong cut my hair today and I was very impressed. For $30, my hair was washed, scalp massaged, and he was gentle and thorough with my haircut. He made sure it was cut and styled the way I wanted and concluded with a blow out as well. I've been to Yashi several times before, but my most recent visit was awful. When I arrived for a haircut, the hairdresser seemed upset and was incredibly passive-aggressive throughout the appointment. She brushed my hair so roughly, flinging out my earring and scraping my skin with the brush - There was no care or gentleness in her handling. She also made several comments about how she could've taken other higher-paying clients instead of me. This was incredibly unprofessional and made me feel guilty and very uncomfortable the entire time. When she finished, she didn't even tell me and just waved me to the front to pay- it felt like she just wanted me gone and out of her sight. I understand bad days can happen, but this level of unprofessionalism was utterly shocking. It's disappointing to have been treated this way after being a loyal client and I will not be returning after this experience. read more

I came in for a hair cut 12/23 and the salon was busy but the person at the front desk helped me out very quickly. I texted Kevin earlier that day to see if he was working/available and luckily he was finishing up on a client so I didn't have much of wait. I came in for a trim and to get bangs - Kevin was very friendly and made sure he was only cutting the amount that I wanted him to. I haven't gotten bangs in yearsss so before he cut my bangs, he sectioned out my hair a couple times to show me what my hair would look like. Depending on whether I wanted more/less hair cut, he made the adjustment! She estimated about 6 hours & we finished the same time she mentioned so it was good to know so i can plan my day ahead. After months of searching for a salon to go to, I came across Yashi on yelp and looked up Linda's IG profile- and i'm so happy i did! My sister and I came to get our hairs done a couple days ago, and she added highlights + curtain bangs while I went from blonde to black/dark gray balayage + hush/butterfly cut. We both had an amazing experience and received the best quality of care/service from our hair stylist LINDA !! & not just her, but every staff member there that day were all so welcoming and kind :) I also liked the music playing in the background and found myself vibing to all kinds of different songs lol But what I admired most about Linda was her ability to work on both of our hairs, being consistent with her timing and making sure my sister & I weren't uncomfortable/waiting too long for her to come back to one of us when she would have to switch from the other person. While she would switch back and forth between us, Linda also never once seemed lost/confused nor had to pause to make sure she was correctly picking up right where she left off; overall, she was patient, thorough, and very dedicated when it came to achieving the results her clients wanted -- and trust me, she will give you the results you're hoping for.
