As first-time homeowners, we had no idea what to plant, especially with the colder April/May weather. Joe walked us through everything and made the process feel easy and not so overwhelming. We feel so much more confident now. We're grateful for his help and will definitely be back. Bonus: they have an adorable kids' playhouse with garden tools and chalkboard walls that kept our twin 4-year-olds entertained the entire time (over an hour!). That made such a difference. TODAY my issues were resolved, the system appears to be running well, and I am satisfied with the service. read more

I hired this company to rip out my lawn, install sprinklers and hydroseeding, it took them five weeks to complete a four day job. Every time I called to find out when they were coming out, it took forever for them to get back to me with an answer. Never called to schedule stopping by for any part of the job. I wanted to send any of my landscape related needs to a local family owned business so I turned to Yard Works. What a big mistake! I ordered some plantings from them, which they did plant. They included rhododendrons and arborvitae. All of the rhododendrons have since died (they were yellow the day they were planted) and one of the arborvitae died, was replaced with a sad looking specimen and that one is now in the process of dying. Joe Fox said he would replace it one more time but then said he would not do that. He refused to replace any of the rhododendrons. Once the work was initially completed he was not shy about asking to be paid immediately (red flag). I would have preferred 30 days to pay to see how the plants were doing first. They did install a brick sidewalk for me and did a great job but plant-wise, forget them. Joe was the worst when it came to communication and customer service is non-existent. I had to e-mail him many times before he got back to me. I recommend Central Nurseries, located in Johnston. My company has been using Central's services for years and have absolutely no complaints. read more

I will not recommended this company. The end work is acceptable, but the customer relationship and communication is terrible. There is no action plan, you'll have no idea of when anyone will come to work and no one maintains an oversight of the progress. No one is very concerned about the correctness of the work. The biggest concern has been when they are paid and payments aren't appreciated. As far as the project, you'll get what they feel you'll like without showing any product or design. I gave one star as my project was eventually completed and it looks nice, but not without my persistence and attention to detail. I always felt my project(and huge expense) wasn't very important and NO customer should EVER feel as such. read more

Horrible customer service! Was there twice this week. First time there was not one person outside to offer assistance. Not many prices are listed, there are no signs with prices, when we had to go inside to ask, answers seemed wishy washy. Went today for the cash only "sale", had cash on hand. The man outside watering basically ignored us. The place is a mess, dying plants, no signs, all sorts of random things laying around such as an unused planter with another plastic planter and sitting water, metal garden edging, etc. There are too many other garden shops in the area with better care and customer service to spend my money there. After being treated rudely last year, I swore wouldn't go back and this sealed the deal. read more

This is service.... Today, I called Yard Works at 8:40 am with a very small hope of trying to send flowers to my sister for her birthday by noon. Very helpful and patient guy (I believe David) talked with me for about 10 minutes and assured me that they will do it on time. I ordered a dozen roses and hoped for the best. AT 10:55 am I received a text from my sister thanking me for the surprise. I couldn't be more happy and thankful. Side note: $39 for a dozen roses and $10 for delivery is a very reasonable price. I called and asked if they could do a small job and pour a 11x6' piece of concrete - they insisted on sending someone out to see the space. The man that came out tried to push all kinds of extras and add-ons (fire pit, sitting wall, walkway etc) which we politely told him we did not want. He finally quoted us on what we actually wanted and we said we would let him know. We called back the next day to schedule and the secretary said she would pass the message along. A week went by and we never heard back, I called again and again the secretary said she would pass the message along and we never heard back. It ended up being a waste of our time when we could have been scheduling someone else to do the job who wanted the work. Our experience was that there was a complete lack of organization or communication between one manager to another and also down to each crew. They consistently had to do things over 2 or 3 times because they didn't follow the plan. They also tried to dump what they had in inventory on you when you asked for other materials or plants and trees. Very disorganized and a real disappointment. read more
