I was having an issue with my truck where my hard tonneau cover was slowly misaligning, so I brought it into Yankee Customs to get it looked at and repaired. At first, I had my son bring the truck in to look at the cap, where, after inspecting it, they recommended I schedule a follow-up appointment to get it repaired. I later brought the truck back myself for that appointment, and after no more than eight minutes of looking at it- I was told the cover was completely unrepairable and considered "trash." Despite this, the shop was not even willing to take it off my hands, and I had to drive the truck home with the cap on it, broken. After the frustrations of my time being wasted just to be told the cover was trash, I prepared to throw it out. My son, however, refused to believe that it was truly broken, and recommended I try bringing it to another truck cap shop instead. I ended up visiting Cap World in Salem, New Hampshire; and their staff evaluated the truck right away, finding that only issue (literally, only one), was a cracked hinge. They recommended I order a new one from Leer and install it myself. Less than 20 minutes after the part had delivered, I had replaced the hinge myself, and the cap worked perfectly. I should also note I am not a mechanic or engineer, this was as simple as a task could get. Based on my experience with Yankee, one of two things happened: Their staff were either incompetent, or they simply did not want to do the repair. If it was the latter, I wish they'd been honest from the start instead of sending me on an extra hour of driving for an appointment that was completely useless. I'd recommend others save themselves the trouble, and visit another shop instead. read more

i've been kicked around for over two years. I bought a $960 low max bed cover it cost $90 for them to install it so it's $1000 bed cover Yankee custom failed to do it properly the first time so I went back for over two years because I'm getting puddles of water every time it rains in my truck bed which per the description on their website, it's watertight and if you look up that definition means unless it's under pressure no weather should be getting in. It also specifies keeps all the weather out or whatever it's called well obviously not if I'm getting puddles of water I've been pushed around for over two years and every time I try to get an answer somebody from the company someone's family dies every other week . call Del take good care of me going on the sun Saturday anytime we'll take care of you because we've continuously cost you time and money and material. They've cost me thousands of dollars in the two years in time and material that has been destroyed not including tools, destroyed by the weather that's getting into my thousand dollar truck bed show up they're open at 8 o'clock nine in the morning by 10 o'clock their guys at lunch so I had to wait an hour for the guy to come back time away from work and then I had to wait 45 minutes for him to do the seals and they botched him and this is what they left me and I've still continuously not got any resolutions or any help in this process because every time I talk to somebody, I have to wait because somebody's mom sister, uncle brother or kid died. They are the worst company do not go through them. read more

Just had a hitch installed on my SUV. Pricing was terrific, I really couldn't believe how reasonable it was. What I did not know, and made me feel more appreciative for what they did to install my hitch, is that they don't have a hydraulic lift. What?!?! Dropped my truck off to get a bedliner and tonneau cover installed. When I picked it up the gas cap was open, the radio blasting, and they drove my truck 30 miles for some reason. Brand new truck I dropped it off with 57 miles and picked it up a day later with 87. Also they were smoking cigarettes inside when I went to pay, not that I care but if someone had kids they might. read more

Very disappointed with recent experience. I've been going there for 7 years. The workmanship of the tailgate liner install and bed step install was very poor. Work was performed by what appeared to be a new hire in training, but with no oversight / final inspection of final work. Had to return for rework... very disappointing... read more

Bought a cover for my truck, reasonable price on the cover and install. The manager is a nice guy but very dry personality, don't expect casual joking. Overall the facility is neat, they will answer your questions, do a nice install and charge a reasonable price. If you need an item they carry, it's worth checking out. read more

Been brining my truck here for a couple years. Nate at the Nashua location is very knowledgeable and professional. Only person I want to talk to and make sales with. Putting the customer first and listening is important, he does that. Wide selection. Slow turn around time for receiving items that need to be ordered. I will not be back. Needed two visits for my bed-liner install as the tailgate cover was forgotten. Technicians scratched up the inside of my tailgate. Informed the store manager just so he was aware. He apologized and told me it was not possible they did it. I was not looking to have it fixed, just wanted the shop to be aware it happened. read more

I would give a zero if I could. Ordered a cargo liner on May 4th, told that they had it at their warehouse in Massachusetts and that they would receive it on Thursday the 6th. I hadn't received a call so I contacted them on the 10th. They're not sure what happened, they'll get back to me. Not hearing back I called again on the 12th. Still no answer, will have the warehouse manager look into it. Called again on the 17th and heard back on the 19th that the warehouse made an error and ordered it as a stock item not a customer order. For $30 more they could ship it in 3 days UPS so their error will cost me extra???? Very poor service. I cancelled my order and got one from Autozone , free expedited 1 day delivery. To top it off I just received a call on June 8th from Yankee Custom saying my cargo liner is in. Haha. read more

Contrary to local legend, these guys have everything you need for towing or for outfitting your truck bed any way you like, at GREAT prices! I kept looking up prices on my phone in the store, and they could not be beat on SO many items. Plus the quality of what they sell and install for you is top notch. Talk to Mark about what you want to do, and he'll steer you right. Great installers, too, like Craig, who is really patient to explain your new equipment to you and answser any questions. Installs are clean, fast, and on time, too. Had a bike rack installed and for some reason they unhooked my kid's car seat and never told me. I drove with my son in a car and HIS CAR SEAT WAS NOT FASTENED TO ANYTHING. When I called back and talked to manager he couldn't have cared less. Said he didn't know about it because he didn't work on it. Basically gave me a "whatever". These guys are working on cars and seem to care less if they kill someone. DON'T GO HERE! NOT SAFE imo! read more

Original post: My experience with Yankee Custom Trucks in Nashua, NH could and should have been a fantastic experience. My initial phone call with Ian was excellent, they were extremely friendly, and the turnaround time for the trailer hitch ordered was great. The issue came after the unit was installed. When I asked how the installation went, I got the impression that there were some "complications". Upon initial inspection I noticed the decorative undercarriage was being held up with zip ties instead of the bumper clips my NEW car was originally installed with. When I brought it to their attention they handed me 2 clips and said these should work. I asked to borrow a clipper to cut the zip ties and they said, oh we can put those on for you (which is what should have originally been done)... so they checked me out and then sent me on my way. But I again crawled under the vehicle to notice that the bumper clips were just pushed in, but didn't hold anything in place as they were broken. I ended up purchasing my own bumper clips online for under $10 to fix the issue... sure this doesn't sound like a big deal, but I left wondering if they cut corners in other areas of the installation that I couldn't see. Plus I found a cover plate in the trunk, but have yet to see where it goes. *** Update *** Shortly after posting this review. The owner, based out of the Tewksbury location, contacted the Nashua office to further investigate. I was then contacted by Katelyn who assured me that they want every customer to feel satisfied with their installations and asked for an opportunity to inspect the install to ensure I was comfortable. I am so glad I took the time to visit the Tewksbury location. While they assured me the trailer hitch itself was installed properly, John did take the time to clean up a few things, which to me, made a world of difference. I am changing my initial rating of 2, and while I considered subtracting a Star for my initial experience - I think the way the company took the time to research an anonymous posting, provided training to their employees in hopes to better improve their customer experiences, and what seemed to me to be a genuine concern that I left satisfied - I feel warrants the 5 Star rating. read more
