A couple of years ago, I stopped into this shop and purchased a custom-scented hand lotion. I…read moreabsolutely loved it and couldn't wait for the next opportunity to come back and refill my container. Since I live about 1,500 miles away, I knew it would be a while before I had the chance. Fast forward to our trip a couple of weeks ago. The only reason we stopped in Idaho Springs was so I could refill my lotion. I grabbed a refill bottle, got in line with my 9-year-old son, and waited my turn. When I reached the register, I told the employee that I'd like to create a custom scent. The look of complete inconvenience on her face immediately caught me off guard. She asked, "Do you just want to come back later so I can check out these other customers?" I told her I understood they were busy and was happy to come back later. Before I walked away, though, she asked what scents I wanted, so I told her. I even mentioned that I'd bought the lotion a couple of years earlier, loved it, and had been looking forward to coming back just to refill it. She showed no interest whatsoever. She then told me she was out of one of the scents I wanted. Between her tone, the awkward interaction, and the other customers watching, I simply wanted to leave. I told her I had really been hoping for that particular scent and that I was no longer interested. By that point, she had already started helping other customers. Her only response was, "Next time." I grabbed my son and walked out. Throughout the entire interaction, I remained polite and patient. I never showed any frustration. As soon as we got outside, though, my son said, "I don't understand why that lady was so mean to you. She was all smiles and talking to the girl before you, but not you." After reading other reviews, I noticed some people suggested she doesn't care for children. I want to be clear that my son stood quietly beside me the entire time. He didn't touch a single item or do anything that would have contributed to the situation. I was genuinely disappointed because I had such fond memories of my first visit. I had been looking forward to returning for years, and unfortunately, this experience completely changed my impression of the shop.

That's how I felt tonight having set up the UYE for a Spa Party at MoonDance. Introducing my beloved and respected Yelpers to the wonder and joy of MoonDance had me all a-flutter. In heaven, there is a spa party everyday. I've now attended 4 spa parties in the last 3 months, having arranged 2 of them myself. Eventhough I am no girly-girl, it's so relaxing and makes me feel so pretty I adore going there and pampering myself. I have to admit that since they are running a special that gives you your spa party for free when you arrange one for 6 or more, I've become an even bigger fan. As many of you know, arranging a UYE can be hard work and Tonja was amazing working with me as I changed our RSVP at least 5 times! I really can't think of a better deal. $15 for several glasses of champagne, gouda cheese drizzled in honey with walnuts and crackers, delicious lavender blueberry chocolate and a 5 step self applied facial that makes you feel like a new woman/man (Dave the Brave, I'm talking about you there). My face feels so soft right now, I'm having a hard time keeping my hands to myself! I just keep pawing my myself and oohing and aahing about how soft and silky I am. Since you get 20% off your purchase after the spa party, I've bought just about one of everything over these past few months. The headache oil really helps me with the stress headaches. I drip a few drops on my hoodie and it relaxes me all day long. The lavender silk skin cleanser is part of my nightly routine. The Rosewater Elixir is a big favorite at work! It's so refreshing! Each and every product is organic, made fresh weekly and knocks my socks off! Because they care about the environment, they will give you a 50% discount if you bring back the bottle of most items!!! I love you MoonDance Botanicals. Thank you for making me and my friends feel so pretty!!!!
