What a lovely business to stumble upon while walking near the national mall. I was taking a walk while hosting a few work calls and was so surprised to stumble upon this coffee stand. It was right in the middle of an area that has absolutely nothing else, including very little foot traffic. But, it was only about a block or two from the National Mall and the Bible Museum, so I'm sure the foot traffic may vary by day and time. But upon sight, this coffee stand looked like an oasis. There was jazz playing lightly on some kind of speaker which drew me in. Additionally, the owner/person working was absolutely lovely! I ordered an iced latte (made with Ethiopian coffee) and it was perfect. I'll continue to be on the lookout for where they may pop up next!

I really wish Flavor Hive would have additional toppings - just cucumber tomato onion cilantro etc are quite minimal. Would be awesome if they could add something like beet salad or beans! I love their chicken taco, the meat is shredded and flavorful and not overly spiced. I don't know what they do to the shells but they add so much. They are more soft than crunchy and are more than just a dull wrapping to hold the meat in. The tacos we order don't come with cheese but do have some crisp vegetables, I'd never thought of putting radish on a taco before, but now I'll never turn back. Of course, there is also a small container of green sauce and a wedge of lime. Not sure if it's included but we always make sure to have some pico de gallo.
