I want to let everyone know what an absolutely brilliant physician Dr. Yan Trokel is. He is the inventor of a procedure known as the Y Lift. This revolutionary technique is quite simple in theory. It is to use fillers such as Juvederm to plump and rejuvenate the look of your face. The difference however, is that it lasts a very long time! Up to a year in fact. Dr. Trokel discovered that by injecting the filler deep enough that it actually will lift the muscle of the face and create an amazing anti aging transformation. My experience thus far has been astounding. Dr. Trokel and his amazing staff including the lovely Diana, made me feel completely comfortable and confident in the procedure. The ylift does what it say; it lifts the face for a complete rejuvanation of your appearance. The Dr. examined my face very carefully and we began with my cheeks where he injected several syringes of juvaderm. I felt absolutely no pain and there was only minor swelling at the top of the cheeks where the syringe was injected. When I looked at myself in the mirror I could not believe the difference! My cheekbones were definitely elevated and my appearance was immediately more beautiful and youthful. In addition I went back a few days later and the Dr. carefully massaged the cheek area to ensure a perfect and smooth finish. Flawless!! Dr. Trokel then told me that the lower portion of the face is equally important to the overall process and that he recommended several syringes of juvaderm for that area as well. I will be going back this month to have the lower area completed. I am sure when that is done I will look even more amazing! I just had a ylift done a month ago by Dr. Trokel and I can't thank him enough! As a 60 year old, I was very concerned with my sagging jawline and hollowness in my cheeks. I felt extremely self conscious. I just felt like my outward appearance no longer matched my youthful spirit. I desperately wanted to do something about this so I decided to try the ylift. The entire experience was amazing. The facility is immaculate. The staff immediately greeted me and offered me bottled water and herbal tea and made sure I was very comfortable. After filling out a few forms, a very sweet medical assistant took me to the exam room and went over all of the steps of the procedure and asked if I had any questions. Then I met Dr. Trokel who has a sparkling personality and he talked to me for a while making me feel very at ease. The doctor started by drawing on my face and then wiped my face with betadine. After it dried, he numbed me in a few places, waited ten minutes, then he started the procedure. I felt some pressure and could feel movement in my face from the instrument, but I didn't feel any pain. He moved from my cheeks all the way down my jaw and over my chin. The whole procedure took about 40 minutes and I felt no pain. I can't believe I was even nervous at first! But then again I am sure everyone is their first time. When they sat me up, I looked in the mirror and could not believe what I saw. I was in total awe. My cheeks were full and higher, my jaw looked sharp again, and my whole face was just lifted. Hello Everyone I am shocked at the poor reviews submitted for Dr. Trokel. Please allow me to share my 3 year experience under his care. First I am a Black American and typically we don't run to plastic surgeons because on average our genetics hold up well. At the age of 59 I began seeing lines in my forehead and brow which made me look mean, so I wanted them gone. Before finding Dr Trokel I spent thousands of dollars with very well known plastic surgeons and dermatologist in both New York and New Jersey. To give you an idea I will name a few, Jeanene Downing and Pat Wexler. After very bad experiences and disapointing results Iwith these women I saw Dr Trokel perform his YLift on Dr OZ. I became curious and wanted more information so I set an appointment. Long story short that was apx 3 years ago, not only do I fully trust Dr Trokel he is kind considerate and respects my hard earned dollar. He did not push products at me, we discussed my concerns and based on those concerns gave me different options to address my concerns. I decided on Botox and Fillers, my fillers last me (1) year and my botox (3) months. Regarding price, it is my experience his injections are at least $150.00 less than anyone I have ever seen. His Botox units were less expensive as well.Every patient is going to be different, If you partner with the doctor to seriously discuss what you are trying to acheive, you will get the results you are looking for. I have been a patient of Dr. Trokel since 2011. I was 56 at that time and contemplating a face lift. My first experience with Dr. Trokel and his staff was beyond expectation. I explained to him what I wanted and my expectations, and he could not have been more caring and attentive to my needs. I had not proceeded with the Y Lift at this time just a few minor adjustments. In 2012 I went back to experience the same excellent treatment and attentiveness. As a busy self employed female I could not experience downtime to recovery from surgery. Dr Trokel explained the benefits of a Y Lift as apposed to a traditional surgical face lift. I left his office a new person as I proceeded with the Y Lift at this time. The results were astounding (and a year later still are) I had minimal swelling for few days, no pain and the results are unbelievable I am extremely happy. A year later I returned to see Dr Trokel for a check up everything is great, and just needed a little botox. I cannot say enough about the office staff, the atmosphere of the office and Dr Trokel, my experience each time I have been there has been professional, but also at the same time like family, the staff is so caring and kind as well as Dr. Trokel. I had decided to get a facelift some time ago but had difficulty choosing a surgeon. I had read about Dr. Trokel and his Y lift in the New York Times Style Magazine in Feb 2010 and had meant to come and see him to discuss my options. So a month ago, I went for a consultation and met with Dr. Trokel. I appreciated Dr. Trokel's candor and level of professionalism. He was very informative and patient. I had a million questions! He informed me that the Y Lift would not give me the result I was seeking as I had excessive sagginess. He suggested his BeautY-Lift - which in a nutshell is a facelift utilizing his unique surgical technique. I also got upper and lower blepharoplasty, a neck lift and fat grafting to the facial region. Overall, I am very please with the results. I chose Dr. Trokel because at the consultation I felt all my questions and concerns were properly addressed. He had made a very good initial impression on me. Throughout every phase from the consult to the surgery to the post-ops, I felt comfortable and taken care of by him and his entire staff. Dear yelpers-i noticed something odd just now- the site has "not recommended" 34 detailed reviews of dr trokel-every one of them a 5 star one, with personal details about the patient, etc, but they "recommend" only 3 reviews, one who identifies herself only as "misterious"- I'm assuming the misspelling was intentional (?). READ THE NON RECOMMENDED REVIEWS and see what i mean (mine was recommended one day, and removed the next). Could it be because the doctor doesn't advertise with them ???? Hmmm. I've heard about this happening, kind of like a negative incentive to sign up. Highly suspicious. Peruse the "not recommended " ones, and ask yourself why? I guess yelp is the scam people accuse it if being. Ps- my 76 yr old mother is delighted with the lift Dr. Trokel gave her, gracefully and undetectably turning back the clock 7-8 yrs in one visit (she wanted to be subtle, but made a follow up appointment in February to amp it up a little more). *** she'd write a review, but considering it would be glowing and detailed, it surely would be "un recommended " till they induce the dr to become a client. Looking terrific at 71. This is my second visit to Dr. Yan Trokel. The first one was a year and a half ago when he performed his Y-Lift on me. Today was my second visit as I felt that I needed a slight "touch up." I chose Dr. Trokel after overhearing a women talking about him to her friends while dining at a fancy East Side restaurant. Dr. Trokel's and his Y-lift procedure is NYC's best kept secret! I first saw him on the Doctor's Show several years ago and made my first appointment in 2016. I've been so impressed with the results, that I fly out from the midwest to see him every 2 years, for a touch up. He's different than other plastic surgeons that inject filler too superficially- hence it has more of a propensity to migrate to other areas, over time. Dr. Trokel uses a titanium cannula and fills under the muscle, so the results look completely natural. He's also the only plastic surgeon I know that uses a milli-meter ruler for exact and symmetrical results. He is very careful and methodical in his technique, and errs on the side of less filler, not more (so that you don't look overdone). I've received so many compliments, since going to him! A couple of days ago I flew in to see Dr. Yan for the Y Lift. An acquaintance of mine has had the Y Lift about a year and a half ago and highly recommended Dr. Yan. I finally had the opportunity to get away to New York for a couple of days and I am so glad that I did. I look amazing. For someone in her mid 50s, I am lucky that my facial concerns were not so bad as to undergo a surgical facelift. But I definitely needed serious 'tweaking.' My cheekbone area was sunken and my profile was irregular. Everything about my experience was smooth and painless. Dr. Yan was very informative, attentive and precise. He made me feel at ease. I had a Y Lift performed by Dr Trokel in October 2021. My face no longer looks narrow and drawn out and my under eye hollows have greatly improved. My facial contours are beautiful and look at the jawline...it's razor blade sharp. I look 10 years younger (I'm 47 years young). I wish I would have done the Y-Lift with Dr. Trokel sooner. I can not believe how much younger I look now. He was referred to me through a friend, who had seen him six months prior for his Y-Lift procedure - she looked amazing, very fresh faced with beautifully defined cheeks and a stunning jaw line...so I went to see him. Before meeting with Dr. Trokel I had consulted with three other surgeons in NYC for a facelift. Dr. Trokel told me that I didn't need a facelift as that would not restore the volume lost in my face, so a week later I had the Y-Lift. Dr. Trokel and his team provide an experience unlike any other providers I've encountered. I traveled just to see him in Miami because of the quality of his work but I wasn't expecting to feel so well taken care of. Dr. Trokel was able to fix issues I'd previously seen several practitioners unsuccessfully prior to take care of. Dr. Trokel has been my doctor for years. All fillings were made with him. It's not cheap, but I see the difference between the filling made by him and others out there, I have friends whose face is swollen from so much filling, and it's horrible! Doctors keep filling it up even more! But today I wanted one more filler on my face and he was super honest and directed me to another path. Other doctors who have been told me that more filling would solve my problem simply to take my money, but Dr. Trokel explained my situation to me and how more filling would not solve my double chin.
