We were greeted promptly but that was about it. I actually came for the half off oysters but now the menu says EXCLUDED! We ordered two beers at a total of $5. It took about 10 mins to get the beers yet we're next to the bar. The waitress seemed uninterested since we weren't ready to order and because we weren't "regulars'. I could clearly hear her conversation with the table right behind me..service for them was much more attentive. The waitress disappeared after dropping off the beers. We finally caught her attention and handed her a $10.. After about 20 mins of waiting we had to go to the bar to ask about the change. But I clearly see our waitress pass the register at the bar headed to the back on her cell phone. The person at the bar and mgmt were confused asking..where were you sitting? What did you have? Who was your waitress? after a 10 min explanation that we had two beers at $5 gave a $10 and was looking for change back the manager finally gave us $5 back. Our server was very interesting & kind of weird..lol, but she was very nice and provided pretty great service. I got the half a pound of shrimp (with head), with the corn and sausage and the side of rice. I loved it! But I love anything seafood. The seasoning and marinate was delicious! Shrimp seemed fresh to me (fresher than the shrimp without the heads). Also, got a side of calamari and Cajun fries, which was a good price for the amount. My friend got the onion rings and they were good!!! & it was a big portion for a cheap price! Check your total before paying! They have a history of overcharging and will ring up 1 lb at 1/2 lb rate. For example, 1 lb shrimp is $20 while 1/2 lb is $11.50. This is a difference of $3 per lb. When someone is ordering multiple items at several pounds each, this can really add up! This just happened again today to my son. Unfortunately he already made it home before I noticed the difference and it's more hassle to argue with these folks than what it's worth. Shrimp came a little overcooked but hot as if it was right out the grease. Tilapia and Cajun fries were ok but just like Juicy Crab. An employee has tested positive for COVID-19, restaurant did not close down to properly sanitize nor did they inform any customers that may have been in contact with the individual. Let me start with the food tasted great and our waitress was nice. The reason for my 2 Star is the time in which it took to receive my meal. Everyone in the restaurant was a bit laid back which isn't necessarily a problem; However we arrived at Shaking Crab at 12:20 and got our food at 1:35. Even the manager said food shouldn't take that long to cook. We had fried shrimp and crab legs. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and there were people who arrived after we did who got their food before us. At the end they gave us 15% off our bill which only ended being $4 off. The wait staff said there was a language barrier in the kitchen so when she asked about our order, she was left with a blank stare. After a very long day of driving home from vacation, we stopped in McDonough to eat. Our oldest son LOVES seafood, so what better place to eat than the Shaking Crab. His favorite has always been snow crab. We walked in around 9:30 and were promptly greeted and seated. The server arrived at our table within a couple of minutes to get our drink order and offer us and appetizer. We finally made our selections. One boy had crawfish and fried shrimp. He said they were good but not as spicy as he would have liked, even though he based for spicy. Our oldest had a hard time deciding on which crab legs he wanted and ultimately chose the Dungeness crab and he was extremely pleased. The crab and crawfish were both cooked perfectly, not mush from being cooked too long, and came out of the shells perfectly. The server was mostly efficient, however we felt a little rushed for our answers when asked if we needed anything, which caused her to have to make multiple trips. The only reason this one didn't get a 5 star review is because we had to ask several times for seafood crackers to crack the shells on the crab. The first 2 times we were told they were all dirty and being washed. If the business had been really busy, I could have seen them all being dirty, however having waited for at least 15 minutes on our food I felt that was not a valid excuse.
