The portion sizes were excellent for the price. I was expecting smaller portions, so I was pleasantly surprised when my plate came out packed with food and definitely worth the value. I would definitely recommend checking this place out, especially the location near the Eiffel Tower. Great food, generous portions, and an overall good experience!

I came here on my first visit to France with my sister and brother-in-law. I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

As we had been traveling all day just to get to Paris for a quick trip, we were famished for something Parisian, ideally bread! In no way did this disappoint. The two women behind the counter, pleasant and accommodating, even smiling! Financier Chocolat - 2.50 EUROS Cute square shaped moist brown butter tea cake with rich milk chocolate creamy filling. Perfection. Pain au Chocolat Flaky with perfect crumb (holes from the gas between flaky laminated dough layers) and a smidge of chocolate inside. European buttery at its finest. You can't get this in the states. Baguette There is something about getting baguette in France! Warm and thin crispy outside with tender and fluffy crumb inside, and the flavor has the right amount of fermentation and texture is proofed perfectly. Excellente. They serve it in a partial piece of square liner so you can just bite the head off and enjoy while walking down the street.

The almond filling was intense, and the dark chocolate even more so. Loved this!

Ambience, food and coffee…read more I'd like to start by giving a thank you to Richard our server. He shared information with my daughter and I about pastries, their origin and shelf life. You can tell that he takes his work seriously and enjoys what he does. My daughter and I shared a time time order. This is specific and consists of: a pastry, macaroons, a hot drink, sandwiches, and macaroons to go. It's a pampering experience. The only thing that kept me from giving this business five stars is the presentation. I love the pretty blue boxes and small plates. However, when you think of tea or teatime you think of a bit more elaborate displays.

It was a pretty young lady working there and I politely asked if she spoke a bit of English. She spoke enough to tell me what was in the most beautiful dessert that caught my eye from the start. It was called the St. Honore and made with lots of cream and some puffy dough with a little crunch on it and also had sprinkles of a hard candy on top. I think it was a smidgen overpriced but considering the ultra cute packaging, I can understand and am willing to pay. She put my dessert in a beautiful box which was then placed in a little, similarly decorated bag with handles. The shop is really cute, colorful and borderline majorly girly looking. Don't worry boys, you'll enjoy the decor as well. I just wish I could have tried more i.e. the macarons but I was in there less than 8 minutes and was not trying to overdo it though everything looked divine! I ate goodie this while resting my poor feet for s few minutes while walking around the Louvre. idk if you can eat in there but I felt gangster doing so lol. And let me tell you, the dessert was just as heavenly as the artwork! Worth the wait instead of gobbling down in a hurry waiting on our car. The area is busy but if you're already there taking in the shopping and want to get a sugar rush, do it!
