Staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful, and the food came out quickly. Loved the unique and refreshing drinks too. Great job!

This time the visit was with my parents, my brother, my husband and me. We were served with delicious complimentary tofu with a great-tasting sauce. My brother ordered the aji tataki for us to start off and it's been a while since I've had this. Beautifully done and very tasty! My brother got the chirashi bowl. My husband and I shared the Gindara kaku bento - grilled cod fish, salad, salmon and tuna sashimi, tempura, miso soup with clams and mango ice cream. For dessert, fruits was the other option. My brother also ordered several chawanmushi for us to share. My parents shared the Nigiri kaku bento. There was so much food. The one down side was the fish in my parents' bento box was a bit tough, unlike the gindara that we had. I would probably recommend the Gindara kaku bento between the 2 bento boxes. We also had this soup that came in a small teapot. I had missed jotting down the name but you drink the soup from a miniature teacup. Glad we didn't order more food because there was already lots of food! Highly recommend!

I had high hopes for Nobu Manila's Valentine's Omakase, but the experience fell short of its…read more"high-end" reputation. For a PhP 6,500/head dinner, I expected seamless service and premium quality, neither of which were fully realized. The Ambience: We arrived at 4:30 PM for the 5:00 PM seating, only to find no staff at the front desk and no lounge area for early arrivals. The place was literally closed and opened on the dot, 5pm! The lack of a dress code (there was a diner in shorts) and the non-festive music made it feel like a casual Tuesday rather than a special occasion. While the varnished wood tables look nice, they lack the refinement of fine dining; condensation from drinks pooled easily on the surface. The Service: Despite the restaurant being only half-full, the wine service was sluggish there were multiple times when I had to think if the staff was expecting me to stand up and grab the bottle of wine and pour it to the glass myself, there was even a time when the staff attempted to clear my plate while my wife was still eating--a basic fine-dining faux pas. The Food: This was the biggest letdown. The crackers tasted stale, the lobster bisque lacked body, and the squid sushi was bland. Most disappointing were the mains: the fish skin was rubbery, and the Wagyu was overpowered by an overly tangy sauce. Even the desserts felt repetitive in flavor. It's hard to recommend this Omakase when the execution doesn't match the price point.

Compared to others in NYC, LA, OC, Greece, etc, this one was not my top pick for some reason. The vibe and service was so so, and so does the foods. Cocktails are also just so so...I noticed that in Asian, besides HK & Japan, Sing & Thailand, not so much of good mixers. Overall it was just okey place.

The restaurant had a really cute Japan theme with super cute decorations! The food was really good and different. We ordered the Gyoza (php 180), Chicken Karage Caesar Salad (php 190), Hakata Ramen (php 340) and the Cheese Ramen (php 350). The item that stood out to me was the Cheese Ramen, at first I thought that it wouldn't be good and I would get tired of it cause its just cheese and noodles. I ended up liking it because the cheese that they used wasn't overwhelming as I thought it would be. The Hakata Ramen was also really yummy and not too salty. Total ~$20

Ramen with a cheese sounds odd but the taste is surprisingly good…read more The ambience resonates vintage Japan. Hanging lanterns and signages creates an authentic feel of eating along the streets of throwback Tokyo. I came from Asia Pop Comic Con in SMX and it is better to dine outside MOA to avoid the hassle. It was a long, tiring day and a bowl of Ramen is the only thing I have in mind. Good thing there's a branch of Mitsuyado Sei Men in blue bay walk. Tsukemen means "dipping noodles", the art of eating ramen with a separate broth and soup to dip the noodles. The regular bowl of cheese tsukemen is a contention of a savory soup and thick sauce cheese. The taste is confusing on the the onset but I easily acquired the taste. I also ordered ebi tempura don. I have the urge that I deserve to eat noodleas and rice at the same time. The pacing of the service is slow. There's a refillable service tea but they don't serve glass of water. You can also bring home pastries and bread from Yamato Bakery conveniently connected at Mitsuydo Sei-Men. The original branch is located at Jupiter street in Makati City.

Kazunori Japanese Restaurant: Worth It or Just Convenient?…read more Kazunori Japanese Restaurant, located along Chino Roces Avenue Extension in Makati, is a well-known spot offering a mix of Japanese dining experiences. It has three sections: a café, a main dining area, and a sushi bar. I've eaten here several times, and honestly, I keep coming back because it's convenient for me--but if I were to judge purely on food, I'd say there are better Japanese restaurants out there. Ambiance: Just Okay The restaurant's setup is interesting but not exactly appealing. The main dining area is right next to a car showroom, which isn't the most aesthetically pleasing view. The sushi bar is where they prepare the fresh sushi and sashimi, and you can watch the chefs at work. The café section has a more relaxed vibe. Overall, the place is decent, but nothing special in terms of ambiance. Food: Hit or Miss I tried several dishes during my visit, including: * Salmon Maki - This was a letdown. The quality of the sushi could be much better. The rice was a bit off, and it didn't have that fresh, well-balanced taste you expect from good sushi. Definitely not the highlight of the meal. * Gyoza - The gyoza was actually pretty good. It had a nice pan-fried crisp on the outside and juicy filling inside. Probably one of the better dishes I had. * Uni Cream Spaghettini - This was interesting. The pasta was cooked well, and the sauce had a nice creamy texture, but the uni flavor was subtle, almost too subtle. It could've been richer and more distinct. * Soba - I liked this, especially with the spicy sauce. The texture of the noodles was nice, but nothing that blew me away. * Ikura Sushi - The salmon roe was too soft and soggy, which was disappointing. Ikura should have that fresh, bursting texture, but this felt like it had been sitting too long. Service: Decent but Nothing Special The service was okay. The staff was polite and efficient, but I wouldn't say it stood out as exceptional. They got the job done, but there wasn't that extra attentiveness or warmth you'd hope for in a high-end Japanese restaurant. Final Verdict: Just Okay, But Not a Must-Try Kazunori is an alright spot for Japanese food, but it's far from the best in Manila. Some dishes were enjoyable, but others fell flat, especially when you compare them to better Japanese restaurants in the city. If you're nearby and want a quick, convenient meal, it's fine. But if you're looking for an unforgettable Japanese dining experience, you're better off exploring other options. Would I recommend it? Only if you're in the area and don't have high expectations. Otherwise, you can find much better Japanese food elsewhere.

This is my second time dining here, the first time being just a casual dinner with family at the Kazu cafe area. This time dining at the sushi omakase area for 15 courses. Our reso was for 6:30 and my girlfriend and I arrived around 6:12-6:15. I had a cocktail and she had a cold tea at the Kazu cafe while we waited. The 6:30 seating was booked and we were the first to be seated. The other 2 parties were late so chef Saitosan started us off with our 1st course, sawara salad. It was soo good that we ate every last piece of ikura, tsuma, shiso and whatever nut was used in the dish! By the time course 2 or 3 came around the 2nd party of 2 finally showed up and another 10 minutes later the last party of 2 showed up. To me, it seemed very disrespectful of the 2 parties to show up late not only because it disrupts the flow of service for the chef, but also for the other diners. I was pretty upset about that but chef Saito did his best to bring us all around the course. My gf and I purposely ate some of the courses slower so everyone else could catch up but it was difficult since we got the 15 course omakase and the other parties got the 19 or 24 course omakase. Back to the food, it was all delicious! My favorite nigiri was the shima aji, my favorite cold dish was the whitefish seaweed salad and my favorite hot dish was the mini unagi don with kinshi tamago. To summarize, this is the best sushi I've had in the Philippines so far. I dont want to call out any other sushi restaurants in the Philippines but let's just say Kazunori has no gimmicks or unnecessary garnishes and the quality of food you get beats any other place I've been to with the same price point (15 course / 5k per head). I visit the Philippines 2-4 times a year and every time I try new places to find one I'd like to settle at. This is for sure a place that I will be coming to more and more often now. My experience this time I'd rate 4 stars, just because there was long wait times in-between courses due to the other diners being late and they got more courses than us. BUT my gf and I agree that Kazunori is for sure a 5 star establishment. I hope to return again before my trip is over!
