If you're ever visiting this area, I definitely recommend visiting this school.

It is truly a pleasure to have access to the classes in this incredible school of management.

The students that I met were super friendly and very smart. The school is very small, with 60 students in each year of the MBA program. The workload is intense, but I heard only good things about the classes and the professors. The students come from a variety of backgrounds, and there is a strong emphasis on career development and internships/jobs. Though it was only the second month of school when I was there, the students were already meeting with recruiters and attending info sessions for summer internships. The building itself looks like a small house from the front but ends up being like Alice in Wonderland. There is a new SOM building being built in the road that is going to be huge and fancy - I believe the completion date is Spring 2014.

I tuned in on the 25th because Barack Obama was speaking at the 2008 Commencement in place of Edward Kennedy and the Wesleyan web-site was simulcasting it live. First of all, it took FOREVER for all of the people to be seated and I was subjected to their drum corps during the entire parade - the drummers looked like something from another country and not in a good way. Senator Obama's address was scheduled to begin at 11:00am. The actual graduation addresses did not even start until 11:45 and the first speaker was the class valedictorian. What in God's name are they teaching up there? The girl could not talk to save her life - and she was the best that her class could produce to speak on their behalf?? We are all in serious trouble here folks if this is what $40K gets for an education these days. When Senator Obama FINALLY took the podium all hell apparently broke loose with the web people; suddenly the signal scrambled, delayed and then altogether stopped - please note there were absolutely NO issues during the drum rampage intro and boring parade of guests and grads. We have high speed cable connectivity with XP software so I'm pretty sure it was at their end. But, c'mon folks - during one of the most interesting political addresses that this state has seen in our time the university should have been better prepared. Then again, maybe the Wesleyan web team are Hillary supporters; lol.

The lounge and the dining hall are relaxing spots to hang out in, and Friday happy hours come with free! alcohol and greasy, repetitive but free! food. In fact, the law school is a fantastic resource for the hungry and cheap. (Caveat: cover for 3 years will set you back something to the tune of oh...$132,000.) If you hang around at 1:00 PM or after 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday, it takes very little diligence to scrounge free Thai, Indian, pizza, and if you're lucky, something else (but you have to be quite lucky). The courtyard is perfect for hanging out in warmer months, but it may as well be closed for business during the winter. If you need to unwind indoors, the couches in the lounge and the four armchairs on the main floor of the library make for prime nappy time, and no one judges you for drooling. One complaint I have about Yale Law School is that the lunchtime crowd in the dining hall is terribly and visibly young. The library is also a total undergraduate hotspot. I think YLS would be much improved if it poached the bouncer from Anchor and made all the underaged children take their biology textbooks and study at Toad's.
