We were told that these were seasoned individuals with experience. Only after prodding, we received background info. Frequent short-notice schedule changes. One counselor cancelled an appointment, sending a message he was just getting on a plane to visit his parents, he forgot about the appointment. Superficial counselling keeping students busy and then not giving productive feedback. I blame Ingenius for the many rejections my high-performing high schooler received. From schools she should have gotten into or at least waitlisted. Ingenius provided wrong and lazy advice. We hired them thinking they could provide expertise we thought we didn't have ourselves. We were wrong. We would have been better off navigating the college prep and application process ourselves. Likely with better results. Very disappointing. Avoid Ingenius at all costs. Parents, trust your own process. We are figuring out legal action, to get our money back.

This company focuses on marketing and as salesmen, not on quality service. Their counselors quality…read morevary greatly, with inconsistent quality for their writing counselors and FOAs alike. The FOAs especially are lazier and more inexperienced with little to no mentorship on application materials even though their one job description is to be strategic advisors to maximize the applications. The writing counselors don't offer anything beyond simple edits, but their services charge more than industry standards. They also switched counselors with us many times which worsened the issue further, and the last set of counselors/FOAs only met with us once a week and once per 3 months respectively. Even with inexperienced counselors, it's one thing if they are inexperienced and they let us know, but Ingenius will present them as the "best they know" and you won't find out until weeks later because they only do 1 meeting per week at best. Very inflexible, and with the many counselors they had us switch, the inexperience ones were not only under qualified but also lazy and won't put in the effort to even have basic communication unless you constantly check in. Some counselors also have full time jobs, leaving little time nor flexibility and the company will not let you know in advance that they are part time. Overall, the experience was subpar with a high price tag. Find local based American counselor/strategists instead, 1/4 of ingenius's price tag and 4x better quality with more individual attention to students. I'd give -5 stars if I could.

Bs/md programs are expensive, a private school can cost $75k a year and times that by 7 or 8 years for bs/md program.
