We…read moreheld a corporate event last night on The Atlantis through Metro Yacht Charters of NY, and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. If you are looking to charter a yacht for a corporate function, this is the one you want. The Service & Staff: The entire crew was polite, courteous, attentive, and professional. You never had to look for a server; if your glass was empty, someone was instantly right there to offer you another cocktail. The passing servers kept the hors d'oeuvres flowing seamlessly--the second a tray was empty, they were right back out with fresh food. A special shoutout to Amanda, who was awesome! She made sure everything ran smoothly and personally attended to all of our guests' needs. The Food & Dietary Accommodations: The food was incredible. We had guests with a wide variety of dietary restrictions--including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal. The culinary team catered to absolutely every need and prepared flawless, specialized meals for those guests. Booking & Planning: Working with Laurie Smollett Kutscera at Metro Yacht Charters of NY was a fantastic experience. She is incredibly attentive to detail and worked closely with us to design the perfect cruise that fit right within our budget. We even had to reschedule the event due to bad weather, and they accommodated us flawlessly and worked with us through the entire process. Normally I would feel super nervous getting on a new type of boat. He's down to earth and just super freaking cool as a human. I will continue to book with him when I'm in town. I love the water so quite frankly I could do this everyday and not get tired of experiencing it. Anywho! You should absolutely book a sail. The captain makes sure everyone has the best chance to find fish while the deckhands seem to enjoy some unspoken battle amongst themselves to see who can be the most helpful! You will never go without bait. Rods & reels provided for the whole family. Even if you bring your own gear, they have it so dialed in from the rod size to the reel capacity to the line diameter to the oz & hook sizes! Respectfully leave your gear home. It's worth the $5-$10 to let them do it. Then after you fill your cooler, they gladly clean your catch to your liking (dressed or filleted)

The renovated boathouse is host to all manner of floating craft on Flushing Meadows Lake. You'll…read morefind sailboats, rowing sculls, pedal boats, outboard motor dinghys out on the water. And then there are my favorites, the dragon boats. Each type is owned by different groups and share the use of the boathouse and the lake. TASCA offers sailing lessons, ROW New York practices on their sculls and HK Dragon Boat Festival has their weekly practices & annual festival around the lake. The boardwalk, docks and boat launches are in very well-kept renovated condition to service all the boat types. The large parking lot adjoining the boathouse provides ample parking most of the year except during the weekend of the HK Dragon Boat Festival when it fills up in the pre-dawn hours. The lake might seem stagnant but is actually flowing from north to south with plenty of wildlife such as ducks, geese, seagulls and the occasional cormorant. There are certainly fish in the lake due to the many marine birds diving for them in the water and the fish that was hiding from them in the bottom of our dragon boat.

We do a couple of group fishing trips and they always do their best for any special requests we have. This weekend we did a surprise for my brother and they were amazing. The crew is the best. They are friendly and always there to help. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. With all the changes in Sheepshead Bay they keep with the true feelings of the Bay. I can't wait to go back next month for another amazing group fishing trip. So if you are trying to figure out what to do for the day, definitely go fishing with the Sea Queen. It is great for the whole family. Even the kids enjoy it and it's great to hear them laugh when they catch a fish. Did I happen to mention, they are also very affordable? They have 1/2 day trips so it's great for those with not much time to spare. Just spending the day out on the ocean and spending time with friends and family, makes this the best day vacation.
