Bearizona - What the crazy...

Bearizona

We absolutely adored this place! Such a great concept! My friend had told me about this place years…read moreago and I'm so happy my girls and I were able to experience this place! Admission is $30/adult. I bought my tickets online and taxes and fees were about $15. So completely worth it. We opted to drive thru once, then parked to use their restrooms which were clean and well stocked. Then we drove through one more time before they closed that section--last car through at 4pm and the park closes at 5:30pm. The second time we went through, they had just fed all the animals so they were super active! They'll come right up to your car, which can feel a little intimidating. That's the closest I ever want to be to a bear or a wolf! They have the animal areas themed and everything is so cute! The walk through exhibits are great as well. Amazing gift shop. So cool to watch the grizzlies as well. If you're ever in Williams, AZ, I cannot recommend checking this place out more! You will not regret it!

Want to see a bison, wolf or bear up close and personal? Come to Bearizona!…read more This is part drive through park/zoo and part walk about zoo. You stay in your car to pay your admission, and you are then let through an entrance gate type thing. You drive past mountain goats/Dall sheep, deer, donkeys, and other not-so-scary animals. As you make your way through the park, you pass through multiple cordoned off areas, each with different animals: multiple bear species, wolves, and bison, to name a few. When in THESE particular areas, you are required to have all your windows up and your sun/moon roof closed for your safety. It's normally bumper to bumper, so you get to be in this part of the park a fairly decent amount of time. At one point, you drive out into a prairie area where the bison are, and you can stay out there longer, as even though there is a "road" you stay on, others can drive around you if they want to get a move on. After seeing all of these big animals, you pass through another gate and into a parking lot. You can either leave the premises, or park and go into the walking zoo. In this portion are smaller animals like eagles, otters, turkey, badgers....mostly North American wildlife. However, there is an area with jaguars in it. There a few small places to get a souvenir or a soda, and then there is the very VERY large gift shop. The gift shop has a large restaurant in it (we didn't go in), and a few small rooms that act like a museum of sorts. Also throughout, in various sneaky areas are large cages/tanks with animals in them like snakes. The gift shop carries just about anything you can imagine from the typical logo shirts to animal themed toys and post cards. But then, it carries other things like hand made pottery mugs and pocket knives. Overall, this was a neat place to visit. You can tell the animals are well cared for, and all enclosures are clean and mimic the animals' natural habitats quite nicely. Each one has a nice amount of space and places for the animals to escape the view of guests when they want to. Bearizona is located almost exactly across from AZ-64 North, the main road to Grand Canyon National Park, just a short drive from Flagstaff. 14/2026

You have to sign a waiver before you even buy your ticket. About that.........the staff (kids) in the waiver area weren't the most helpful. They were just kind of "there". Younger group of folks, whatever. After you get your little zip tie attached, you then go outside to purchase tickets. We bought 2 tickets for my kids. $50 bucks each!! JESUS! And they tack on a credit card fee, so it was really $103. This provides you unlimited rides down the hill from 10am-4pm. Thing is though, that you realistically can't ride down that hill for more than an hour or two without getting bored. They should really offer an option where you can buy 2 hours for like $25.00 or something like that. My kids were ready to leave at about 11:30. They had more fun just playing in the snow when we pulled over at Munds park on the way back home. The lady at the entrance to the tubing (didn't get her name, had a broken wrist though), was super friendly and was about the only good thing about this experience. The ladies in the cafe were pretty friendly too. Sadly, like I said before, this is a one and done type deal. WAY too expensive for what they offer. Meh!

The gate was open so we went in, no one was manning the door and it was wide open, also no signs posted it was super dark but open till 9pm so still open at this time. I tried to ask what looked like an entertain there on a horse about how it all kind of works and she was busy so she asked me to give her a moment, and that's totally fine so I stepped aside. Then some other chick from the far off corner asked us to get around the fence to which we obliged again. Then the entertainer on the horse asked us what questions we had and answered what she could but then looked at my service dog and said he can't be here thought. To which I reply he's a service animal and she questioned whether or not my pet was one stating they are more behaved. He was wagging his tail bc he's only 11months! He was behaving just happy! Then the other women came over with attitude telling us how dangerous it was to walk in the gate! To which I replied well we are just looking for information and there is no sign or anyone at your door to, plus it is wide open! Then she looked at my service dog and said he can't be here so again I told her he's a service pet and she again stated he can not come in so we just left the entertainer eventually was very helpful and nice but I'm sorry you can not refuse a service animal but it's all good we'll never go back here. anyone else with service pets may want to stay away from here.
