We are escape room enthusiasts from the valley that came up for the weekend to try out Flagstaff's…read moreescape rooms. This was the first place in Flagstaff we did and, sadly, we were very disappointed. We did both of their rooms - Storm the Castle and Wizard's Chamber - and they both leave much to be desired. Storm the Castle is anything but immersive. You walk into this very large room and all you see are five tables with a box on each one, a couple of chairs, minimal wall decor and a large, lego castle. The clues and objects in the room are not themed that well to the room either. The method for delivering clues is done by the game master walking into the room and his clues are not clues at all but rather him saying things like "go look at that poster". Bor-ing! Wizard's Chamber was better than Storm the Castle as far as its decor, props and how immersive it was but there are still objects (the kind of books, for example) that don't fit in with the theme of the room. And if you've done one of their rooms, there's really no reason why you can't escape the second one because they use the same kind of clues and puzzles in both rooms. There's no challenge or element of surprise when you do their second room. Compared to the majority of the other rooms we've done (nearly 100), Flagstaff Escape Rooms hits extremely low on our list of the ones we liked and/or would recommend. If you have never done an escape room before and this is your only option, maybe going here wouldn't be so bad (since you don't have anything to compare it to). But for anyone that knows what an escape room is supposed to be like, do yourself a favor - save your money and skip this place.

Brandon made tubing so much fun even though t was over 100° the day we went. We only did the mountain coaster one time due to it being $20 per person. I usually get motion sickness on roller coasters, but I didn't have any problem on this coaster. My son who is scared of roller coasters even loved it. If someone from Canyon is reading this... please lower the Coaster price or at least give people who buy a photo package a free ride, play some music by the tubes, consider putting a misting system at the bottom of the slide and put in a bottled water vending station for the tubers by the employee station.

The person at the end asked how my experience was and I told them how my cart kept stopping itself due to being behind someone holding the breaks. Driving along, the flames from their outdoor heaters and a new set of signs caught my eye -- a new…read morebusiness in Flagstaff! I love seeing new places pop up here, especially when they offer something unique. This one did: an 18-hole putting mini-golf course. Recently opened, PuttTek brings something fresh to Flagstaff. It's a fun activity for groups, kids, and even a great option for date night! They're still in their growth phase, but you can already see the potential as they continue to expand. Food will be coming soon, but they currently have beverages, snacks, and ice cream. It was a pleasure meeting Kyle and Carson, and they're excited for what's ahead once winter is behind us. I'll definitely be returning -- and may even host an event here through my employer!

This weekend we tried the Barefoot Trail, and I'll admit, there was a moment when I thought,…read more"Wait... we paid money to walk barefoot through the forest?" But once we got going, I actually really enjoyed it! I think this is probably best suited for younger elementary-aged kids and their families, or even toddlers. My 8 year old was totally game and loved experiencing all the different textures, while my bougie tween was decidedly **too cool for this**. She found the whole thing a little yucky and uncomfortable, which honestly made me laugh because she was probably the exact target audience a few years ago. The location is a little out of the way, but going in the summer worked out really well for us. We spent about an hour and a half exploring in beautiful weather, and most of the trail was nicely shaded. It really is a unique sensory experience, and I liked that it encouraged the kids to slow down and actually pay attention to what they were walking on. A few tips: bring towels or paper towels for afterward! We definitely should have thought that through. Our feet were *gross* by the end and required a serious scrub when we got home. Overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend it for families with younger kids. Just be prepared to get dirty, go barefoot, and possibly hear your tween complain about how disgusting everything is. We went on the polar express train ride over the weekend. I want to start off with the hotel stay. The hotel was decked out in Christmas cheer and has a huge courtyard with some trains. The front desk receptionist was extremely friendly and full of information. I want to say her name was holly. She gave me a run down of what to expect a map of the hotel grounds and told me a little about the show/train ride. We then went to the room which was decent sized clean and had a fridge and tv. Dinner was great at the buffet and there is also a bar inside the hotel that serves food after hours. The train was really cool and fun with singing and dance cookies and hot chocolate.
