When I first moved to Charlotte, I made it my goal to try as many yoga studios in the area as I could. I can confidently say Y2 is TOP TIER - instructor, classes, studio, and location wise. The facility feels very clean and is stocked with everything you could need. I found the instructors specifically to be very approachable and eager to chat after class. I loved the intro special and found it to be a good deal compared to some others I have seen. One thing I LOVE about Y2s classes is how challenging they are. I think it's important or yoga teachers to toe the line between making a class challenging but also accessible to everyone in the room. I think Y2 does this perfectly. The feeling of leaving a Y2 class is a feeling of accomplishment and achievement. For me, the music is very motivating! And I noticed the more instructors I tried, I found some that had similar music tastes to me (these were my favorite classes :) ) LAST THING! Location is top tier for me. I love that shopping center and it's just one (of the many) reasons why I love this studio. read more

I tried my best to have little expectations and go with the flow of the class but as soon as they started playing music, the F word was one of the first words I heard. During our sun salutations, Lil Durk and Drake was playing which was bizarre. I'm a bartender and have to listen to trash music all day long so I don't come to yoga practice for rap music. There is a sentence in the description of their website that says "We play music, so you can ignore your thoughts," or something along those lines. Which is scary and seems like the total opposite of what yoga is? I guess if you have zero interest in the spirituality side of yoga, and enjoy classes like "Twerk Yoga" which are rapidly becoming available within our culture, you'll love this place. The lockers and showers were nice. The flow was challenging and I would consider myself and intermediate yogi. I told the staff this was my first time and they instructed me to check in on their I-Pad and sent me on my way with no tour or welcome. The place looks cluttered and overwhelming at first entrance. The instructor didn't actually seem engaged rather like he was just speaking over a muffled microphone like I was in an Orange Theory or Elevation Church and like he was just reading a script. Couldn't really understand what he was saying over the music. Took me a long time to understand the flow. Seems like the owners don't care and sold out to make a "yoga studio" for the masses and cash in . Im just not sure why this place is designed to be a "Yoga Studio" rather than described as a more accurate "Upbeat Music Yoga Based Workout Studio?" Maybe? Before giving my opinion, it is important to note that this yoga studio is an enigma of yoga studios. It is not focused on slow stretching meditation; it is a full-body workout! That said, it is a full-body workout that is gentle on your joints and a much safer option for people looking to build strength, endurance, and mobility while minimizing any risk of injury. I would describe the heat as "Bikram Level" and the flow as "Baptiste Style" but amplified through speed and more strengthening poses (side planking is on repeat in this flow). The poses are pretty intermediate, and the main challenge will be the heat and speed of this flow. This flow is for you if you want to see major changes in your endurance, strength, and waistline. lf you are looking for a relaxing, slow-down meditation flow...there is an option called LSD - but it is seldom offered throughout the week, and usually late-night. Personally, this was a clear next step in my journey - other hot yoga studios in the area left me unchallenged and left my body in a static state. This to me-- is the supreme yoga studio I've ever been to. Also for whomever wants that spark to light up your yoga practice. I was intimidated but my girl Jo was like just come and take class! To say the least I'm now a monthly member. The front desk staff are friendly and wonderful cause I tend to need l a few items before class hehe (water, ultima, towels that why have readily available). The instructors are welcoming but what's crazy to me is that so are the other yogis that are taking class. I've met some nice and genuine people there and it's just a joy! Try them out. I moved my membership from another studio to Y2 recently and I have absolutely zero regrets. The facilities are clean and spacious. The parking lot can be a bit of a mess (to no fault of Y2s) so save yourself the headspace and prepare to arrive 10-15 minutes early. This will give you plenty of time to find parking, check in, put your things in a locker, and a few minutes to get into the right headspace for class. For what it's worth I've practiced at A LOT of studios, and Y2's app and check in method is the easiest and fastest I've experienced. The instructors at Y2 are absolutely top-notch and offer a variety of teaching styles. I recommend anyone who is new to try as many teachers as possible to find your favorites! Some of my personal favorites who challenge me are Rian, Tanner, Dorie, Greg, and Katie T. A fair warning for people who like LOTS of space during their yoga class: the main class times can get mat-to-mat crowded. Personally, I love this sort of thing because it makes me feel connected to the Yogis who are practicing around me and motivated me even more. Defininetly not for everyone, so if that isn't your thing maybe don't take the High-Volume class times (front desk should be able to guide you). I would best describe the flow as "hot, loud, and sweaty" which is exactly what I'm looking for in my yoga practice, and I never leave disappointed of less than fully challenged. In a single shot class, I'm burning 350-400 calories on a regular basis. I LOVE the uptempo and high energy playlists that are curated by the instructor and studio. I love a good beat drop of a hip-hop song when I'm trying to push through the second side of a Single Shot. Y2 also has its own Spotify playlists that you can follow along with when you're not in the studio. Is the pace fast-paced during single shot? Absolutely. Will the instructors be doing the poses at the front of the class for you to follow? No. But there are SO many great Yogi students at this practice to follow along with and the flow gets easier every time. The instructors encourage you to take breaks when you need them and offer modifications all the time if you need a lower-impact version of a pose. Y2 also offers really great intro specials if you're new to yoga. (Do the 6 weeks unlimited for $69 - trust me you're going to want more than 3 weeks for $39). read more

We gave our 2nd shot at yoga a try at Y2 Yoga in the Cotswold Village Shops. It was a little hard to find, but we found it in the alcove, hiding just behind Salsarita's. We were welcomed into the studio by smiling, friendly faces and signed up for the walk-in rate of $15 each. The yoga mats were free to rent for first-time customers (yippee!). The studio feels a bit cramped, although all we had to go by was the last studio at which we attempted yoga. The entrance felt small and cramped and then the locker room was a small locker room/bathroom/shower room combo. I wasn't very comfortable leaving my valuables (hello, wallet!) in the cubby hole (no lock lockers) of a closed, unmonitored room, so I ran it back out to the car after we paid. It would have been nice to have cubbyholes in the rooms instead where I could keep an eye on my belongings. Our teacher was great, as we tried to keep up and get into all of the positions correctly. She explained that they're very "hands-on" there, which we were comfortable with. She helped us get into the correct (and sometimes painful) positions, but she also offered alternatives. We definitely tried, though! We really appreciated her not slowing down the class just for us newbies, but still helping us keep up and not feel out of place. So...thanks for that! The restful period after 75 minutes of yoga moves is the best part. I'm lying on my back, the ceiling fans come on, my eyes are closed, the room is dark, and a lavender-scented washcloth is placed on my forehead. Ahhh... Be careful coming out of the studio. Walk quickly pass Salsarita's...before being drawn in by the temptation of a nice big burrito with chips and salsa! Whew! p.s. Y2 Yoga offers $5 "Good Karma" classes as well! Great deal! I was first invited for a free class by a friend of mine working at Y2. This got me quickly acquainted with the studio back in the day and also was my intro to hot yoga. The place was small at the time and they have since made some much needed expansions. Despite the distance from home - a solid 25 minute drive - I still come back fairly regularly though I'm no gym junkie by any means! I've always loved the ambiance most especially in the lobby area outside the studio itself. The front desk staff seems hit or miss. The last time I went they were very friendly and helpful but I've been before and they've been a bit sour. I was hoping for positive vibes bursting at the seams in this yoga studio. But it's okay, you'll certainly sweat it out in a few minutes. In general though Y2 exudes positive vibes from the teachers and a sense of class from the whole place. Now that they have this neat raw/sushi bar built in I can imagine it's a happenin' joint on any day but Sunday. Unfortunately I can only make it on Sundays and the kitchen is closed. Soon maybe they'll open it up though! The whole place including the studio and the changing rooms is as clean as can be and certainly cleaner than most gyms. Good thing since you spend a lot of time here crawling on the floor. One recommendation/suggestion I can make is for the music to be a bit quieter in the 101 class that I regularly attend. All-in-all though, I seriously love the feeling of sweating waterfalls from every pore in my body. And nothing is better than earning that ice cold menthol/eucalyptus towel over the eyes at the end of the excruciating hour of hot yoga. If you ever do hot yoga you will never feel complete doing normal yoga again. Last point of mention is the online system Y2 uses. It makes signing up and paying for classes a breeze. Their system allows for purchasing class passes at a deal - for example 5 101 classes for the price of 4. Oh and did I mention a 101 class is just $10? Pretty cheap if you ask me. read more

Before Y2 I had not worked out in a very, very long time. The last time I took Yoga was maybe 10 years ago, and I could barely keep my balance. This past year I wanted to look into yoga studios, and I wanted to find one I could stay at. I don't like changing around studios and I wanted to find one that could help me, would offer lots of classes at different times, and that I would feel comfortable at. Y2 has been all of those things for me. I don't take the hot yoga classes because I know that is too much for me, so I am often in Straight Shot, 101, or my favorite: LSD on Tuesday nights. The instructors never make me feel like I am dumb for not knowing how to do something, and always push me (safely) to go further than I thought I could. I'm always reminded that everyone starts somewhere, and help is there when I need it. The studio itself is great. It is very clean, and the front desk staff is nothing less than helpful. They have an app that makes it very easy for me to sign up for a class, and when I get there all I have to do is sign in on a tablet in the front. The monthly unlimited pass is slightly expensive for me as a teacher, but it is worth it. I've only been going a short time but I can see a big difference and I always leave class feeling as though I have improved in my practice. read more

Retail yoga. The yoga shopping appears decent. They do provide ice, water, mats, towels, toiletries in the shower, and plastic bags for your wet yoga clothes. But the front desk experience lacks, the welcome to the studio tour and orientation to hot yoga do not exist, the website is difficult to understand, class was difficult to follow, the assists were aggressive, and the instructor made a snarky comment to me at one point during another aggressive assist. Days later, I still have lingering bruises from the assists. The 3 finger and thumb bruise on my thigh is kind of funny, but validates my in the moment concern that the assists were actually painful. If you are set on going here, identify their intro classes and do those. Even if you have done lots of yoga for many years, keep in mind that this is their version of yoga, with their own vocabulary (up down is used instead of chataranga) and approach. Maybe bruises for assists are part of their culture. Whatever. read more

I don't normally leave Yelp reviews but this place deserves one because it is special to me. I was recommended Y2 by all my friends when I moved to Charlotte but I had ClassPass so I wanted to try all the yoga studios in the area before I committed. I should have just listened to my friends because I love this place. They have friendly staff, great locker rooms (complimentary hand and shower towels) and you can order a smoothie at the restaurant next door and pick up on your way out. They also have kombucha and sparkling water for sale which are great to have after hot yoga. If you forget anything they have towel and mat rentals as well as clothing to buy. Y2 is heated power yoga based in ashtanga and baptiste style. There are various types of classes depending on what you like heated, unheated, ashtanga, power flow, beginners, etc and also vary based on the instructors. I would suggest calling ahead and asking about the classes so you can select what's right for you. The flow is unique to the studio and it's why I love it - you won't find anything like it! Starts with a warmup flow then involves two breaks for abs and backbends between the standing flow sequence and ends with stretching. The cool lavender towel at the end is always amazing and well deserved! read more

This is a nice facility. Very clean and organized. The studios are all really nice and you can tell someone puts a lot of work into maintaining them. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They explain everything to newcomers thoroughly. I was happy with my visit, but the pricing is not friendly. That is what has stopped me from returning! So many other great deals out there that are more wallet friendly. I will say: they have a program that you can research online, that you can apply to volunteer at the studio and receive free classes in exchange for your help. seems they read their yelp reviews. yeah, good job. so, a bit more professional lately and one of the crazy ashtanga yoga mysore instructor left this studio to start her own. Maybe things are getting a bit better? The current ashtanga yoga head is amazing. I just wish everyone was on her level of care. The assistants so far are lacadazical and don't bother to introduce themselves. I've walked into mysore practice numerous times... no hello. no spot, nothing! And no front desk staff. weird way to enter into the am. I do have to say that the Strength class is great. A refreshing add on to any yoga practice. This is a very different type of fitness place. Still not enough of a real yoga place for my tastes, but they are chill enough to just let a yogini / yogi do their thing, without getting their panties (yoga leggings I mean) all wadded up. I don't get all the bad reviews. I had a fantastic experience here! Since it was my first class I arrived about 10 minutes before class started. I was greeted immediately and started setting up my profile. When I was done, they told me where the showers/lockers were and the room my class would be in. I loved the space! It's huge and the lockers rooms offer plenty of space for you to get prepared for class. Yes. The class was hot. But that's what I expected! I didn't at any time think it was too warm. My instructor was Johanna and she was soothing and encouraging. With each move I found it easier and easier to get comfortable with my breathing and body. And I appreciate the folks walking around helping me get in just the right position to get the most of of the class. The absolute BEST part was the cool and refreshing lavender towel they gently place on your face. After class...you definitely deserve it! I plan to go back again. This studio is my favorite in Charlotte! I appreciate the discount student pass offerings, which are helpful. I think the caliber of teaching is exceptional and I love the flow, heat and overall experience. I used to go to CorePower Yoga but feel the quality has gone down and appreciate the attention to quality teaching that Y2 offers. UPDATE: They suddenly only allowed undergrad and below students to use the discounted membership. I wish I could say I had a ton of money as a grad student but that is not the case and I would appreciate your allowing the grad students who are spending a lot of money and many not working full-time to use the student membership. Thankfully, I have SweatNet but would attend more often if I could use the student membership again. I do not understand why they changed their policies?! I love these classes so that's unfortunate. read more

I agree with Catherine J. Completely! In my opinion there is no place in REAL yoga for sushi bar and 1/2 bottles of wine - consistent sales pitch by his instructors after each and every class is very annoying. This NEW Y2 is still very cramped and crowded, especially when trying to get in and upstairs because of the still too narrow hall way that is also the gift shop, and way too commercial and up tight and haughty front desk people in my opinion for what it is...it is not a Beverly Hills Spa, certainly not even close. Very pretentious. What I've observed, Y2 still is NOT doing the cleaning job needed for my standards of good hygiene. Floors are sticky. I've seen no cleaning of the floors, I've seen the instructor just pushing the goo around with a mop - I try to stay on my mat to avoid the floor, the wet body goo that's not mine on the floor I can't help but roll around in while doing yoga, yuck. Kind of disgusting. In each class I've been in, all the instructors play music that is totally unrelated to yoga, not the quiet moment music I's suggest, they choose banging piano music, and it is really way too loud for my taste or for a yoga class and more importantly for my ability to hear what the instructor is saying. The kind of music played in class sucks most the time, in my opinion. As for the instructors, I've had much better and worst in my life time, I've been to Pune, India too. But Joey is the shining star stand out. If you're not too worried about maybe catching something from the goo on the floor, take his LSD class. For me, It was hit or miss with the other instructors. They were not very consistent with LSD content - it is suppose to be SLOW. But Joey was. There was one instructor (who was late) that confused straight shot with LSD. She was way off course for the LSD class description. I left this class, way too fast. Not everyone wants to do fast GYM yoga. LSD is a slow deep stretch, holding poses for 3-10 minutes at least that is what we did with Joey. Joey is fantastic. Five stars for Joey! For me, Joey/LSD is the ONLY good thing about Y2. I took a straight shot class, and I had to leave immediately because the instructor really was going tooo darn fast. But I observed through the glass doors, most Y2 classes are GYM yoga, too fast and too highly energetic for my taste. in my opinion, Y2 is anathema to the way yoga could be experienced. How in the world can someone get the full benefit of a yoga pose when they're only in the pose for not even one second? They can't. I know most of the people in the Y2 classes are young and hopefully resilient, and more important don't know how to set a yoga pose properly and safely, so all the more reason the instructor's focus is to go SLOW do a pose correctly and really much much slower and more emphatic for the pose to be effective and also for the purpose of safety. "The goal of yoga is to calm the chaos" not create more. BKS Iyengar's opinion. So, YES! There are many other much BETTER established yoga places in Charlotte that adhere to what I think yoga is all "about" and much better in terms of atmosphere, attitude, mindset that are definitely far less commercial uptight and haughty. There are places in Charlotte where a person can learn the correct and proper way to set yoga poses for the holistic full benefit, rather than someone who wants to move fast, get their heart rate up, sweat all over the floor - get their daily exercise on. Y2 is not for everyone. there are less expensive places for walk ins. Compared to what I've experienced and well beyond my personal taste for a lot of reasons but mostly beyond the pale for marketing something that is NOT REAL yoga In my opinion, Y2 offers a trendy expensive exercise (GYM YOGA) for lower middle class millennials and it has almost nothing to do with a REAL yoga practice. Note: Holding a pose is one of THE most important parts of yoga. The holding gives space for emotions to emerge and helps me feel grounded, and creates an anchor for the soul. In my opinion and that of BKS Iyengar, when a person zooms/flies fast through postures, without holding, then all you really have to show for it is sweat and soul less exercise. read more

I have practiced here a lot. Not because it is my favorite studio, it's not, but because of the convenience and because of Adam W., one of the instructors. And Shana, my other favorite. The classes are often very smelly, and I have had to leave when the odor is so overpowering that I was able to taste it in my mouth. The hallway is crowded and annoying, both before class and after. Classes often are so crowded that you are touching your neighbor and getting their sweat drops onto your mat. eeek. The crowd is definitely...interesting. Lots of overzealous, scantily clad women who stay for more than one class in a row. This is not so much a yoga studio as much as a bootcamp-like atmosphere that uses yoga as the tool for your exercise. Adam is the consistent exception to the bootcamp mentality. I appear to have a masochist bone in my body because sometimes a good a--kicking as a workout suits me fine, but when I want yoga-- the exercise, the mindfulness, the spiritual component experience, I go elsewhere. --They do offer a lot of karma classes, which is nice-- --their schedule works-- read more

No. Just. No. Pack 500 people into the space the size of a large-ish livingroom and call it a yoga class? Sorry. You're gonna have to pay ME to come back for that. There was no room at all. I could feel my neighbor's breath on my lower back! It was ridiculous. As more and more people filtered in, staff came in and started yelling, "move closer to your neighbor! There's a space in that corner!" (right next to 3 space heaters). In the entryway, hallway, and the bathroom, there was crap everywhere: bags, shoes, boots, bottles, magazines, towels, purses. Every space was tiny. On Y2's website, they go on about respecting the practice of yoga and the space in which it is performed. Respect flows both ways, and it was impossible to cultivate any sort of respect anywhere or anyhow in this place---except, perhaps, for trying to avoid sweating all over your neighbors' mats. Whoever used the term "yog-a-erobics" was spot on. When I think of yoga, I think of a quiet, deep, grounding challenge, not *thump* *thump* *thump*." I was going to make a joke about how the instructor should've started the class by screaming "SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!" But, since he actually went with the perennial "Let's get ready to rummmmble!," my joke was rendered moot. One star added for convenient class times. read more

Visited this studio for what is probably my 4th or 5th time. I alway go in hoping to connect with an instructor or this studio. It's a very nice studio even tho it's quite small. Our most recent experience was a class with all heaters turned up, even with a class advertised as 'Power Mixed' rather than 'Hot Vinyasa.' We chose this class based on the fact that it wasn't listed as hot. All four heaters were on. The pace of the class was more similar to calisthenics than yoga. We were never in a pose long enough to be completely in it. I fail to see the benefits of yoga at that pace. I've been a member of several studios in Charlotte, including those that enjoy a faster pace and some heated classes, but never any like this. When we talked to the instructor after class, she suggested she would have turned the heaters off if we asked her to. Maybe next time we'll try that. Another person in the class spoke up to say all classes are heated at Y2. We were completely unaware of that fact. It would be nice if class descriptions on the schedule would indicate that all classes are hot so we know ahead of time what to wear, etc. We came dressed and prepared for a regular power vinyasa class. read more

I love Y2! It's the first studio I experienced after taking several classes at my local gym. Yoga in a studio is such a great way to practice. Y2 offers a ton of classes from 6am - 9pm, so finding time around your busy schedule should not be an issue. The number of classes for beginner's is limited, and nearly every class is hot, so take that into consideration if you're new to yoga. While I initially disliked hot yoga, I've really come to appreciate how it allows my muscles to stretch. Just be sure to bring a towel & drink plenty of water! They do offer at least one $5 Good Karma class every day, so that's a great way to check-out the studio. My only minor gripe is I wish it was bigger! The two practice rooms are good, but the entrance, hallway & restrooms are too small for the number of yogis who practice here. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect about Y2 given some of the previous reviews. Since I have ClassPass, I can be more selective about where I work out because I have so many options. If I don't have a good experience, there is nothing to tie me to go back. There is a reason why I keep coming back to Y2 though, and that is because I get an awesome workout with great instruction. Yoga is a practice, which I think sometimes folks forget about. So, there is naturally variability in style and instruction. The style at Y2 incorporates music, which varies by instructor, but I always find that it helps me to focus less on my imperfections with some of the poses and more on just being in the moment. The hot yoga classes (Single and Double Shot classes) are indeed very hot, and the humidity levels vary. But, the awesome thing is that there is no judgment at Y2, so if you're not feeling it, hang out in child's pose or do what feels good to your body. I also appreciate that the instructors are hands on. Sometimes the classes are pretty packed, but I always see the instructors assisting when appropriate. Another great thing is how many classes they offer as well as the variety. My work schedule does not often permit me to work out in the morning or afternoon, so having evening and weekend options rocks. The amenities definitely also make Y2 stand out. I can't tell you how many times I forget to bring a face towel when I do hot yoga, so having freebie ones is great. Not to mention the well-deserved cold lavender towels at the end of classes. read more

I stumbled upon this studio while engaging in one of my favorite activities, shopping. I was excited about my new discovery of one of my other favorite activities, yoga! Y2 Yoga is tucked away in the Cotswold Mall (across from Salsarita's). It's a new yoga studio and right now they are offering a couple great start-up packages. I registered for the one month unlimited package ($39). I couldn't pass up the deal and wanted to give the studio a try. It's in a good location. It has two yoga rooms and offers simultaneous classes for parents and children (I don't have kids, but it looks convenient... drop your kids off in one room and you go in the other). The pros: 1) After your class, the instructor gives you a cold washcloth that smells like lavender; 2) They offer a wide variety of classes at all hours of the day; 3) They offer an educator's discount; 4) The instructors help you with your postures (be prepared to have them touch you to help with your alignment). The "not so fabulous": 1) The yoga rooms smell a bit sour (I can only figure that there is too much moisture in the air and it never fully dries out); 2) Some classes are set to music, some are not; 3) They focus more on yoga as physical fitness and less of the contemplative/spiritual aspects of yoga (e.g., re-centering the mind); 4) The studio itself is small and if more than 5 people are waiting for a class, it gets really crowded. It was a pretty good experience overall and I was able to practice yoga on the cheap for a month. However, I never really found my groove with this studio or a true sense of belongingness. read more

LOVE Y2! I had the best experience here, my favorite was the LSD (long slow deep) class that focused on stretching and healing! If my schedule didn't become so crazy I'd love to have kept it up, I will most DEFINITELY be coming back though! OBSESSED!! thanks y'all! read more

2 stars because the ODOR in their studio is UNBEARABLE. As in I literally cannot breathe and then I fall over because my brain is not getting any oxygen. I've had to walk out of classes here so I don't suffocate. Plus isn't the whole point of yoga to focus on your breath? This place makes that impossible. How can I describe this odor? It's like a mix of feet, dried sweat and wet dirty towels. With the heat and the moisture combined and a room full of sweaty bodies.... it's the worst. I feel like there should be an easy fix to this problem so I'm confused as to why it keeps happening... air fresheners? cleaning the floors with some sort of odor killing/swiffer product that smells good? scheduling the classes with more time in between to open windows or somehow air out the room? Also, there isn't a lot of space at all if the classes are full.... I'm always too self-conscious about hitting my neighbor instead of focusing on my poses. Maybe when they open the new place the individual spaces will be bigger. On a positive note, I will say the instructors so far have been amazing and the couple of classes I went to where I could actually breathe were really great. You will get a really intense workout and not so much of the meditation. I'm new to yoga so I kinda like this, I feel like real "yogis" don't and will hate me for admitting that (I'm sorry real yogis, I am in awe of you). Also great for strengthening your abs. (the instructors I've tried so far are Nicole, Adam and Katie) All in all... I'm going to use my $39 intro month to find the least smelly classes and stick with those. If they do fix the odor problem I will update my review to 5 stars and sell my soul to this place. read more

Oh Y2 Yoga, there are probably about 5 yoga studios that are closer to my house, and yet I just can't seem to quit you. The instructors are consistently fantastic and I've liked every class that I've attended. Class offerings and the class schedule are both expansive, and they do things like offer good karma classes daily for only about $7, so it's obvious Y2 is committed to making great yoga afforable and accessible to everyone. Be prepared to sweat profusely in class, and you will get to know your neighbors well! Classes usually fill up so space is tight for now. I'm not sure when it's happening, but Y2 is working on expanding the studio and from what I've heard, it'll be the largest yoga studio in the US (but don't quote me on that). Yelp STOP filtering my freaking review for Y2 yoga damn it! When I first came to this studio, I was a newbie. I had maybe 10 yoga classes before and I never got into it but this studio changed me physically and mentally. This is a fantastic place. The teachers and staffs are very nice and welcoming. I don't understand why the ratings are not higher (maybe because yelp filters all the 5 stars for this studio). I just moved to NC and I was looking for a new yoga place. All the classes are hot (95-100 degrees). Only the HOT labeled classes reach 103-105 degree. This is one of the things I really like about this studio, it is truly a hot yoga studio. All of the teachers are amazing. Each one of them know what they're doing and the way you know that is by their touch. When they come around fixing your poses, you'll notice the firmness and confidence. My poses are no where near perfect but they will help you open up (in your poses) instantly. They are skilled and at the same time modest. They have locker rooms in the back with showers (separate men and women). The decor in the back is really soothing. You feel right at peace when you start changing. There are two yoga rooms and every practice is under dim light which allows you close your eyes focus on yourself mentally. Occasionally I look at the mirror in front of the room to make sure my poses are correct. They have an awesome new student discount: one unlimited month for 39 dollars. It takes a month to truly try out a studio. And this studio is worth! They also have 5 dollar classes too! read more

I'm not sure why there is so much negative feedback on here. I have yet to have an unpleasant experience with them. If anything they have gone out of there way to work with me. I would give 5 stars, but the crowed entry way does get annoying sometimes. Fair price, good vibes, and always a smile when you leave. read more

Hot. Challenging. Grand. Clean. There is a big part of me that craves a HOT power flow 1-2 times, and sometimes three times a week. I drop in for Rian Harris, Tanner and Sarah Pays classes regularly. I swear out what ever I'm working through. I challenge my practice to the point I'm comfortable (although some people seem to be pushing to a place that worries me.) I feel safe with these instructors and value this place just as I do my go to restorative and HiTT training yoga classes. Hit Y2 for a challenging well rounded practice. Try and stay the whole class for the end is the yummy part. Also hit a twilight class - there is something about the low lights and less crowded room that makes my day. Also, make sure you bring a change of clothes. You will not be leaving dry! read more

The Best and hottest Yoga studio in Charlotte. I am so, so, so happy that I took the dive and now have the UNLIMITED CLASS membership. I go whenever I want to and they always have something available. Most important, they let you make your yoga practice exactly how YOU want it, they just direct. It's so awesome. Very positive place! I am thrilled to be a newbie there and look forward to continuing my practice with Y2 Yoga. All of the instructors are ahhhh-some too!!! Thanks for doing what y'all do!
