Hooooooooot. Arrichion isn't kidding when they said this was HOT yoga. 102 degrees hot (for some classes). I was originally intrigued by Arrichion's studio when I saw their card dropped into my mailbox. Since I live only a block away, as soon as I saw the Living Social deal ($20 for 20 classes within 2 months), I jumped on it. Inside, Arrichion is a sweet, well put together yoga and martial arts studio (two separate rooms). Since it's in South End among a handful of industrial like buildings, there should be plenty of parking nearby. And how about the classes? I went to Arrichion's first Saturday morning class (after the LS deal was announced) and oh my it was crowded. And hot. Did I mention it was hot? Pile in more than 50 people and you have a sweaty yoga party. But the instruction was spot on - quickly moving through the repetitive poses you won't have too much time to ponder how toasty you are while in warrior I or downward facing dog. A few things to remember when stopping by Arrichion: 1) If you are heading there for hot yoga, bring a mat and a long towel so you don't slip all over. 2) They offer a variety of hot yoga class types, martial arts and a mixed class of cross training and yoga (named Warrior), 3) Be prepared to sweat. I know I mentioned this plenty of times already, but with the super hot room, the (potentially) packed house and the challenging and fulfilling workout you will be gleaming! I'm looking forward to heading back to Arrichion for more hot yoga and trying out their other classes, too! Namaste!

Finally.. Hot Yoga since I left Cali! I signed up for the $20 for 20 days of unlimited yoga (you get 10% off that deal online). I actually paid $18 for the 20 days, not a bad trial considering 1 class is $15 normally. All the instructors are very encouraging and friendly. The Charlotte location is a smaller studio with a circuit room and a heated yoga room. There is also a shower and changing rooms if needed. I hope they move to a larger location or open up more classes during the day, I feel like there are people signing up for a deal or membership every time I go in. Parking can get crazy after work hours, I have heard you can park in the lot across the street without getting ticketed. I have tried the following classes: Krystallos: challenging core Pilates (with yoga bits) class. I did not expect to work up the sweat I did. Definitely complements the yoga classes to building good core strength. Topaz: a stretch yoga class focused on standing poses with some sitting. I was a little disappointed with the fact that I did not do one chataranga or any of the warrior poses. I prefer more flow in my practice but its a good beginner class for those new yogis. Bloodstone: a flow yoga class packed with all your warrior stances and a good amount of chatarangas. It focuses on the Sun Salutation, I loved this class. You definitely feel the burn. Its ended with a good ab series as well. I have heard bloodstone + warrior = amazing body, will have to work my way up to it. Black Opal: hip opener! This class also includes a good amount of Sun Salutations and chatarangas. I also enjoyed this class. You'll feel more stretch than burn. You will feel a difference in your energy and strength levels after a couple of weeks of consistently practicing. The post-yoga high you get afterwards feels amazing!

HOT HOT HOT! but oh so relieving! I loooove arrichion. I just happened to stumble upon it while I was looking through groupon and I'm so happy that I did! I took hot yoga a few years ago and loved it then, but arrichion has me in love even more! They have a wide variety of classes from beginners classes to challenging classes. They keep the yoga room at about 105 so all of the classes are definitely a challenger because of that factor alone. But try all of them! They are all fun and all leave you feeling awesome afterwards. Make sure to bring a towel and lots of water! They also have cross fit classes which are awesome! I did one for the first time yesterday and boy am I hurting! They are intense and so worth the sweat! I was thinking cross fit at a yoga studio? I'm going to have to do my normal workout when I get home because this can't be that tough, I was wrong! I can barely move today and it's a good pain! Try these all also! I know I can't wait to! The studio itself is really nice and really well kept. It's welcoming and everyone there is really nice. The instructors are helpful and understanding if you need to go at your own pace. This is so worth the investment, especially if you can catch the 20 classes for 25$ on groupon!!!

I was clear that I didn't want to be locked into a contract, so they suggested a month-to-month option, but it ended up costing over $200 a month. They were also constantly trying to upsell me on add-ons like red light therapy, pushing yet another membership even after I had already signed up. It felt excessive and uncomfortable. When I later decided to cancel, I was told I needed to give a 30-day notice, which was never mentioned when I signed up. The way it was communicated felt dismissive, basically telling me I would definitely be charged for another month. It feels like they treat your card like it's theirs to charge whenever they want. The atmosphere also changed completely after I became a member. Before joining, they were attentive and friendly, but that disappeared once I signed up. It's easy to get in, but a nightmare to get out. The classes were unreliable as well. The instructor I signed up for missed a lot of sessions, sometimes resulting in weeks without classes. I was promised discounts for those missed sessions, but they never followed through. At one point, I went almost an entire month without the class because the trainer quit, yet I was still charged the full amount. On top of that, I was offered a $50 discount that never showed up. Instead, I was actually charged even more. When I asked about it, they said it was a billing mistake, but that doesn't change the fact that I was overcharged without my consent. The only good class was the heat/and tone and the trainer left. And you have to book a class to go and guess what if you can't go they charge you 20 dollars! EDIT: She will say she gave me a discount, after a month with no classes I never got it! Why do you think I'm upset? She also says there was not any classes only for thanksgiving? Ha what a joke, the trainer was gone for weeks after and there was not a sub once. AND this whole month, I have not been able book a class, because there are NONE. I feel bad for the people who bought a heat/tone package and never have a class to go to. This lady is lying through her teeth.

Parking is available on the street as well as in the garage. Can't wait to try another class!

I've been twice now and it's a fun concept. The workout alternates between cardio days and strength training days. Those workouts also alternate themes and structure so you'll never get bored. It's very fast paced which can be a little overwhelming at first--especially if you're not familiar with the actual exercises. The balance here is that there are always two dedicated staffers available to ask questions and help you feel more comfortable with the movements. The instructors also monitor the room to fix your form. I do wish they would spend a little more time at the beginning of the class go over the agenda for the day, but again, you can always ask for one on one assistance as needed. They use A LOT of equipment which makes it fun. In one class we used 9 different pieces of equipment. Again, this can be intimidating at first, but switching it up really makes the class go by quickly. The gym is new and really clean, the women's bathroom is stocked with any supply you could need to be more comfortable during and after your workout such as dry shampoo, hair ties, deodorant etc. There is free parking in a garage attached to the building which is great in the uptown area! Highly recommend checking it out!

However, since going to this studio I have increased my yoga participation from annually to a few times per year! Next goal is monthly... The studio is small and cozy although it can seek crowed at times (but briefly) during class change and post class when trying to gather my belongings. The lobby contains a few seating areas and merchandise for sale. There is also an area to store belongings during class (no lock up area so avoid bringing valuables). The class size in all the sessions that I have attended is comfortable, not too crowded. All of the instructors have been pleasant and helpful. The best thing I like about this studio is that the various class options tailor to various yoga levels. So far my favorite class has been DEEP STRETCH because it's easier to keep up with the slower pace for the novice or slacker yogis like myself. I also enjoy SLOW FLOW, which has a steady pace of ongoing movement. Class availability and descripts can be easily found and registered for online, which is a big convenience. There is a parking lot, but it is shared amongst other establishments within the plaza. However, my husband and I have been greatly disappointed at the business end of Be Yoga. Our initial visit was warm and welcoming (when it was Yoga Palace). The employee greeted us and gave a quick tour of the studio. After checking it out, we decided to commit to the month deal of $39 per person for unlimited classes. Then it took a turn for the worst... Our second visit was chaotic and definitely threw off our practice. The doors were locked, no sign indicating that the class was still scheduled, the teacher arrived 10 minutes before class and didn't have a key, and then he got on the phone to call someone to let us all in. The class started a bit late to say the least. When I went to officially register, the woman helping me told me that one of their class packages was a really great deal and I should buy it because the following day the price would change. The pricing didn't change the following day. Her sales pitch did not sit well with me, especially when she was late and then the price didn't actually change. They kept a business phone in the actual studio. I found it distracting when the phone rang...perhaps they can turn the ringer off or take the phone out of the studio area entirely and leave it at the front desk. When the studio changed owners, we were charged again. It has been a hassle to get refunded to say the least: 1) I called, the phone was disconnected; 2) I went to the studio and there was no clear indication that I could get refunded unless I tracked down the original owner; 3) I had to go to the original owner's other business to finally get reimbursed; 4) the studio manager emailed and said we could get a one-month credit to retry the new studio regardless of the reimbursement outcome; 4) When we emailed to start the complimentary month, the manager told us it was miscommunication and the offer was no longer valid since we were finally reimbursed for the double charge that I had to work for. I hope they are able to make significant customer service changes quickly because they have a lot of potential and are located in a great area. However, we will not be returning...no namaste here for me.
