My son spent about $40,000 rebuilding and modifying a vehicle just to it being the factory motor nothing built and had the vehicle in his possession for one week out of a year owning it, which is ridiculous and so disappointing. The vehicle constantly had issues and got tired of being lied to this place is absolutely horrible. I do not recommend this place for anybody. STAY AWAY FROM read more

Horrible communication, and even worse incompetent techs which they cannot keep any around. They are now re named Extreme Racing and off road after the main partner left taking the rights to purchase quality products from reputable vendors. read more

This shop has had my blue Mach I mustang since January 27,2019. It was a simple disassembly and reassembly of an Teksid block. Brandon Carothers is the one who accepted this job, when he used to be the manager, but Daryle the owner was not happy, and Brandon left the shop after my car arrived. Daryle pushed the car to the back of the shop where it sat for 5 months with all brand new parts waiting to be installed. He insisted that the workload was too much and that his shop doesn't typically perform the work I asked for. He also claimed business was heavier than usual, although my car had been sitting for months, while he completed other large builds, such as supercharger installs and complete engine builds. My brand new Mac X pipe was lost although I dropped it off with the car in January. My brand new ford clutch kit that they signed for and received, from American Muscle, on 2/27/19, was not installed, although they read my FB message, 2 days before, which advised them of this part being delivered. As time passed, I questioned Daryle often regarding my job status, and he was typically uninformed and not interested, with regards to a car that's been sitting for 7 months. Long story short, the negligent supervision and quality of work, didn't prove itself, until 11/2/2019, which is when Daryle told me the car was complete and ready. I drove the car 15 miles, from his shop, and overheating began to occur. Daryle, towed the car and claimed the new water pump was not rotating correctly, so they replaced it. I received the car back 7 days later, and it continued to surpass 230 degrees while idling, so I contacted Daryle again. This time he alleged that heater core was leaking and they'd be able to loop it out, so that it won't affect the cooling system. This didn't solve the problem either, so Daryle assigned of his more "skilled" workers, on this job, in April of 2020. Two weeks after this employee replaced the transmission, and while the car was still in his possession at Y2, the engine developed a serious ROD KNOCK. On a phonecall, this employee stated he felt responsible for the knock, since it occurred while in his possession (Made sense as the car was in and out of shop since 11/2019, but no knock until he works on it 4/2020). Daryle, at this point, decided to be the boss again and took back over this now 22 month old job. After numerous visits, agency complaints and now a pending case with his funding partner Snap Finance, due to non-product delivery, after being paid the invoice amount, Daryle still continues to use several different excuses. I've heard, "We typically don't bid on jobs like this", "We are swamped with work" and more recently, "COVID-19 has taken two of my employees". We have had 6 different "completion dates", ranging from 9/30/2020 to the most recent being this Saturday, 12/4/2020. Daryle Eagle also lied about using Wells Racing, in Midlothian, as a machine shop, when I questioned who would be machining the heads that were just freshly built, by the reputable KPE Racing. On 8/14, Daryle sent a message stating the progress had to halt because the MACHINE SHOP owner closed the shop, due to COVID-19. I spoke with the shopowner, on 9/14/20, and he confirmed that they NEVER CLOSED. Daryle then, lied again and claimed they sent my engine elsewhere (undisclosed this time), although I have the message still, where he stated Wells Racing was their machine shop. I'd advise anyone, with a Ford mustang, to stay AWAY from Y2PERFORMANCE. Go to HP Racing, Gearheads, Precision Mustang or any of the other more competent shops in DFW. I ended up stuck, with Y2PERFORMANCE since they destroyed my engine, and the fact that I'd be upside down, by having another go over someone else's work. One thing for sure is, when I do receive the car back this Saturday it is supposed, to be a full rebuilt engine, and with a new heater core installed. With the way this job has went, I still plan to have the engine inspected, by one of those more reputable shops! Stay tuned for updates! Hopefully they'll be positive! read more

I cannot trust this company. The business owner has failed to uphold a signed agreement that we made and we are having to take them to court. I would not advise anyone go to this location. read more

Where do I start.. first, I'd like to mention that i've given my car to y2 performance on two separate instances. I live in Louisiana, so it's always a trip. The first time was great. I had no issues with their work, Brandon was the best I could imagine a shop owner/representative being to clients. Got my car back, was super happy. Paid my invoice of $13000+. My relationship with y2 grew, as Brandon and I became friends. I was also fond of Daryle, but didn't get the opportunity to speak with him as much, so naturally, Brandon and I were closer. We even had a deal worked out that for every client I sent to their shop, I would receive a percentage of the profit. I sent everyone I could. Several. Brandon and Daryle separated, and this is where I'm sure the quality dropped. I started hearing from people who took their cars to them that Daryle would quote someone for certain parts, and then install the lesser quality, cheaper parts, only keeping the difference. For example, a friend told me that he brought his terminator mustang in for stainless works headers. They put pypes headers on it (much cheaper in price) and welded the stainless works badge onto them. All hearsay from others, but not a good look. I decided I wanted more with my car, and assured myself that my previous relationship with the shop would be enough to motivate them to do me right. It was a laundry list, and I was given a price for the work before I went to drop it off. When I arrived, I paid the price up front in cash. 6 months go by, and I'm told that the car is ready for pick up. I get my trip together and head to Dallas for the weekend. I walk in the shop (always been a really cool looking shop, and fun to check out) but don't see my car among the projects inside. I find Daryle in his office, and ask him where it is. "You didn't see it? You walked right by it?" He says. He grabs my keys off of the wall and leads me to it. Outside.. in the pouring rain.. I pop the hood to see that my engine is open, with no intake manifold (which is part of way they were supposed to powder coat and install.) my brand new turbo is rusty in the center section, along with the brakes on the car. All of the suspension parts that are supposed to be installed, are in the back seat and trunk. The car was supposed to be completely ready to drive with the exception of having a trans in it, which I was waiting on from another shop and would install myself. The suspension parts that were installed were missing hardware. I paid for the rear end to be built, and to have ARP wheel studs installed. The "wheel studs" were rusty upon pick up.. and weren't ARP studs. I looked at him in disbelief and said, "soooo you just didn't want to do the work that I paid you to do? That we talked about?" "I wasn't the one working on it, so idk." I said, "you own the shop.. you're responsible regardless of who works on it." He shrugs it off and helps me push the car into the trailer. I reach out and ask him what we're going to do about this. He isn't good about getting back to me about it. I wait a few months. Reach out again. Same thing. Finally I tell him that he has two months to send me a refund for the work that didn't get done. He says he's going to talk to his attorneys. Instead of doing the amicable thing, this will be going to court. I've also since been told by former y2 employees that during the first visit (that I thought went well) when my heads cracked on a dyno run, (which I had to pay for new, and machining, and install) that it was actually because one of their tech's installed my oil filter relocation kit backwards, thus, starving the heads. I wasn't told this, and was made to pay for it. The further you dig into y2, the more you find that it's run by dishonesty and no accountability. I don't recommend y2 performance, sadly. read more
