Started off with a phone call to the Coos Bay dealership, inquiring about a boat I had seen on their website. They said it was available, so I made arrangements to fly in from N. California. I gave them a weeks' notice and asked if they could have the boat brought down from there Florence dealership, they agreed. I confirmed the day before arrival that I was going to be at the dealership around 1pm, once I arrived, I was told that they were not able to bring the boat down and I would need to drive an hour away to the Florance dealership to see the boat. I can understand if they didn't have time to bring the boat down to Coos Bay on only a possibility of a boat sale, but if they would have told me that they were unable to, and I would have just drove Stright there from the airport and not wasted my time going to the Coos Bay dealership. The salesperson (Brian) said he would go with me to the Florence dealership, but they were extremely busy (there was not one customer in site), so I said no problem and just went myself. I took a look at the boat, spoke with a very nice and knowledgeable guy from the Florance dealership and headed back to the Coos Bay dealership to discuss buying the boat. Called Brian and let him know I was on my way, but he was at home already (3:30) and that we could go over final pricing on Monday. I was thinking, I came all this way and was going to buy this boat that day but needed to wait until Monday now. (Note, boat sales are very slow, and Y Marina is closing the Florance Dealership down, but couldn't take a little extra time that day to sell a 100K plus boat). Call on Monday, settled on a price for the Boat, ask if they would be interested in also setting up the boat with electronics and kicker motor and asked for the addition cost, they said sure thing and they would get back to me that afternoon or the following morning. I didn't hear back, so I called the following day to finalize the deal and asked why I had not heard back from them sooner, then I was told that the boat was sold to someone else. I mentioned that we had agreed to a price and the boat was sold and that I was just waiting on the accessory pricing and installation lead time. They offered no apology and just said that there Florence store sold the boat and didn't communicate that with them. I said it seems that you do not communicate well with each other and that the boat should not have been sold out from underneath me. I have seen good reviews about this dealership, and it might have been this way at one time, but my experience showed me that they are very disconnected and scattered and communicate poorly with potential customers. I don't think sales work very well this way in a slow market (or any market). I guess maybe they got comfortable with the hot boat sales market of the past and it shows. I ended up buying a boat and Clemens Marina. Very knowledgeable staff and communicated well and great pricing. Y Marina missed out on $150K sale, due to lack of effort, scattered and poor sales Commnication. read more

We were always comfortable with the negotiations and felt no pressure. I had a problem with electrolysis attacking the hull of my 19' aluminum Fishrite. I reside in Grants Pass and took the boat to Crater Lake marine in Medford for a written estimate for the repair. I left the boat there and after 2 1/2 weeks received no response. I went back to the shop and an employee showed me a scribbled note for repairs including removal of both motors and resurfacing and painting the bottom. No indication of investigating or trouble shooting the cause. Also scribbled on the notepad was 9K. A couple of days later after talking to Ryan at Y Marina I returned to Medford to retrieve the boat which had been sitting outside in the weather. I drove the three hours to Coos Bay and dropped off the boat. A couple of days later I received a call from Ryan with the results of their inspection. They discovered the cause was improper grounding of electronics from the manufacturer and an issue with the battery switch leaking voltage to the hull. These guys are incredible, trustworthy and repaired the boat in a very timely manner. Oh, I must mention they did all the repair work, diagnostics and resurfaced and painted the bottom for several thousand dollars less than Crater Lake Marin's scribbled estimate of $9,000.00 Thank you Ryan and crew for a job well done! I purchased a new boat and motor from the Y back in 2013 I can not say enough about the excellent treatment I received then, in all I drove 1000 miles round trip and stayed two days in a motel while they prepped the boat motor and trailer. Fast forward to January 2019, I decided to up grade my Yamaha 4 stroke 70 hp to a new Yamaha 115, I called and talked to Paul who put together a deal over the phone including the trade in on my existing motor and set a date for the removal and install of the motors, again a 1000 miles round trip and a 2 day stay in the motel, which was great as my wife and I explored the area during the install. Once again the Y exceeded my expectations by completely the task early. These are great people and long wish they were closer so that I could use them on a regular basis. Thanks team Y. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.....Hubby and I just retired and bought our dream boat from Y Marina. A 22' Defiance Admiral 220EX. We worked with Paul George, he was amazing!!! He was patient with all our questions (which were MANY) and very knowledgeable. He was always available by text, email or phone (my hubby texted him all the time). He made sure we had everything we needed to outfit our boat to do the kind of fishing we want to do. Debbie was great to work with and helped us secure financing. Sean installed all our electronics expertly and in the time quoted!!! (We had another boat and the guy who installed the very expensive electronics took months to get it installed and it never worked right) Kurt calibrated everything for us.....he ran into an issue with the lowerance unit (it was a lowerance issue) but he never gave up till it worked perfectly. We have had nothing but problems with Y Marina, with over $16,000 in repairs in just the first year alone on a used boat deemed "excellent condition". First off I need to say that there was another poor rating with the same problems as ours on here, but somehow it is gone. The one time we don't look at yelp first before making a purchase. Started off with driving 516 miles one way to get our boat, which we had set up a week in advance. The alternator is not working but they tell us to drive it back and they will pay the cost of the alternator and the install. I asked if the surge brakes worked on the trailer and they assure me it does since I am towing a 21' Bayliner trophy behind my Toyota Tacoma. Found out later that they didn't work and if they had the right brake was so bad that it would have froze up if it worked. Thanks for putting my wife and my life in danger. Finally get the alternator in and it takes over a week to get it started, turns out both batteries are shot. A week later we are being towed back to the marina because the engine overheated (IDLER PULLEY BEARING FROZEN). That was fun, drifting towards anchored ships and the anchor not catching as we are being pulled by the outgoing tide. Oh I forgot to mention that they did such a great job inspecting the boat that we found urine still in the toilet from the last customer. that was a nice surprise. Gimble bearing went out within 3 weeks, kicker motor not working in 4 weeks, constant electrical issues where the battery will drain with just the ship to shore radio on, turns out the wiring harness is corroded, the list goes on and on in a nutshell the whole motor was basically rebuilt and the first year we had the boat, it was in the shop for all of it except for a total of 4 months. We got a lawyer for the lemon law, Y-marina dragged their feet and the best offer that they could give us is to buy back our boat at our cost, but we have to buy another one from them - heck no, you think we are going to trust them and want to give them more business. They were also upset with our review on here that my wife wrote and said that if we took it down they would deal with us. We did and they didn't, so here we are again, over a year and half later and we are still having electrical issues and we cant take our boat anywhere because the brakes are shot. When I contacted the manager of Y-marina and told him our problems and what we wanted, he did say that we are experiencing more than usual problems with the boat, but there was nothing he was going to do. I drove 18 hours round trip to purchase a boat from Y Marina. I dealt with Paul over the phone/internet. Paul game me a great price to buy the boat right away without the typical back and forth. I arranged a sunday pickup. When we arrived we were greeted by Scott who took us back and started the boat and showed us how to work everything. We then hooked the boat up and headed back to our home in central California. We brought the boat home and took it out fishing immediately. We had a couple minor issues with the way it ran. I called down to have them trouble shoot it for me. I even received a call the next day from Paul asking if everything got taken care of and to see if the boat was running ok. I told him I had to take it to my local mechanic to get a couple thing repaired. He then asked for my receipts and reimbursed me in full. Gotta say this review is for scott alone, and a couple of his mechanics, some of the rest should find other places to work,they really dont fit, the office staff is very poite and proficent, bought a 17-2 seaswril, never got into the boat, took it home to the river, the motor would not go down, used a 5hp kicker to try to fish the bay, wow what a experience, motor finally went down, started spitting and sputtering, and quit with gas rinning out everywhere, went in, had to manually lift the 70hp and lock, took it back to y marina, told them about the motor and the trim not working, went home couple days went back, back to the river, motor still would not go down, was trying to manually let it down when the same state guy informed me that was illigal as i was poluting the water like with the gas leak from before, took it back to y marina, scott told me they would get it in and fix it while i waited, he was out of town on business, got there at 9, boat moved to back about 10-10, waited for a while, went and looked, someone had let it down manually, fluid leaking from the hole, they informed me that the threads was stripped and the unit would have to be replaced as well as the motor, at my expence app 650-700 dollars, plus the wiring system was a fire hazzard, they did it, not me, boat still there, waiting for scott to return next tuesday, hopefully he will fix the problem that was exsisting when i bought the boat from him.he has always been up front with me, a noemal 90 day warrenty is standard, there is also a lemon law that exsist when someone has to return for the same problem more than 2-3 times, i think 5 times covers this, the rating is for scott and office staff, and 2 mechanics that i know, others really should find another job, when scott isint there its like a car without a driver.:(i left at 1120, got there at 9 they called me at 11 to tell me about the cost to me,i dont carry phones as i had told them,and i was there until 1120, got home at noon for the wife to ask where i was as they had called and i wasnt there, so she was worried also,. anyways, deal with scott!!! or dont deal!! I called for a price to service my outboard motor, Jeff in service quoted me $125.00. I dropped the outboard off and Jeff called me that afternoon, he told me the engine needed $725.00 of work to fix the problems. I went in to pick up the outboard, and Jeff made me wait for 25 min, he was very rude and then handed me a bill for $166.00. as asked him why the bill was so much, because they did not even service the outboard!! bottom line, I take the motor home and it starts up and runs fine! Jeff flat out lied about the problems and still took my $166.00. read more

we purchased a 22' bayliner trophy outboard from them in 2013.. we live in sacramento,ca. they said the boat was fine andthey would meet us in redding to deliver the boat. we met in redding as aggraded and I took off for home. got home and I could not get the outboard to start. call y marine was told to take it to a good marina and have it looked at. did that and was told it was in need of some small repairs. $1100.00. had the work done, sent y marine the bill got a check for the full amount. we had our son purchase a boat also and the same thing. meat in redding and his boat has had no problems at all. if I were to purchase another boat I would have no problem getting it from y marine. read more

The salesman and sales manager both called several times took additional photos etc to make sure I saw and was aware of any flaws. When I got the boat it was much better than it looked in the pics. I took my 2 stroke 25 hp Mercury outboard to them and asked them to clean the carb and rebuild if necessary. Sometimes it would start and other times not. A pretty basic job for a good outboard mechanic. They called and said it started fine and they adjusted the idle - not what I asked for. They also said they really didn't want to work on carb. So I paid $60 for nothing and took it across the street where they said cleaning the carb would be no problem. I know they sell a lot of fancy boats but if you can't do a basic carb rebuild on an old simple outboard something is wrong. Disappointed. read more

i just want people to know if you do business with y marina ,you should bring a lie detector with you because they lie with a straight face ( salesman dave ) . i dealt with this salesman over the phone about 2 boats 2005 and a 2006 rogue marin 18ft which there was no such boat rouge marine that are 18ft they are 17'3 !!!, but i was not told that at that time, so going by the salesman's word (dave), the , i gave a deposit and told him i would be up on monday morning to get the boat as promised. i was there on sunday to see both the boats in which i did the 2005 was nice but,the 2006 was no where to be seen, so on monday i asked about the other boat and they said it was taken to another shop, so i ended up buying the 2005 rouge marin. so my son and i inspected the boat and noticed a chip out of the skag but we were told at that time "no problem", that was just another lie, there was really a bent prop shaft covered up by a new prop, so by the word of this so called salesman i was told the kicker motor we made a deal on was serviced and in great shape... yeah i get home to use it and it leaks gear oil out the fill hole and makes beautiful white milky water about every 8 hours of use and i called back and informed him that both motors were not serviced or the trailer bearings were not even checked for the haul back to california and the boat was not 18ft, i did as he said,they wanted cash so i had no recourse. the crooked people at y marina and at rouge marine welding that was done on the boat (very very poor workmanship know what the word screwed means !!! read more
