Next, was a clearly brilliant bookkeeper who was very secretive and I'm sure up to no good and so my search continued meeting 3 more just like them and then I found Michelle! I'm so lucky to have someone who I can trust, who's professional and never shames me when I miss a deadline and could charge me more than she does but she doesn't. The good ones are like finding a grain of rice at the beach. Michelle had my highest recommendation for general tax preparation or if your taxes are a bit of a mess she loves to help people get back on track.

More than that though, was her willingness to brainstorm on how we might set up a winery, and periodic advice on tax withholdings. Michelle makes time to answer questions, explain the regulations, and participate in your business plan. It doesn't get any better.

Can't say we didn't get WAY more than we paid for in this one visit. We went in rather frantic, and came out feeling overly relieved. Seriously... I felt Abbott was smart enough, experienced enough, and very very congenial. While we don't frequent attorneys, I know where we'd go back to if ever we needed one! Thanks for not making a scattered lady feel inept Steven. You have a gift and we're thankful you continue to share it. :)

At the time it looked bleak, but today I have sole custody of BOTH daughters and I owe it all to him. James is incredibly professional, but also very kind and patient. I will admit, initially I was worried that his mannerisms would be a downfall (I thought I needed a shark) but I am happy to admit I was wrong. James may not be loud and in your face, but his legal know-how and calm demeanor is actually his biggest strengths. He knows what advice to offer and in a courtroom setting he knows when to object and what to say without being off-putting to the judge. I have dealt with 6 different attorneys over the last year and James is by far the most effective. His retainer is fair and unlike 99% of other lawyers, he doesn't try to run up your expenses with pointless tasks. He's reasonable, flexible and cares about the outcome. I will be eternally grateful for everything he has done for my family.

But... did we get what we paid for? Um... no! I held out for years after my husband suggested going elsewhere, feeling somehow "safe". I believe Michael Gordon is a master of marketing. As for his accounting services? Well, I think he's pricing himself right out of our little market, and bent on establishing national recognition for his speaking. He's an awesome guest speaker... and always a shock since nobody expects a CPA to have such a grand sense of humor. I appreciate the marketing, but feel this business would be better suited in a large city where average consumers may not notice!
