So far, so great. I have not been to a tanning salon in 7 years, but wanted to get a little extra color for an upcoming special event. Xtreme Tan has many options and are fair in price. No hard sells. I feel like the staff puts the customer first and wants them to have a great experience. Tanning beds are clean, the rooms are small (thus the 4 star rating), but I've been able to get a little more color just after 2 visits! This is the only tanning salon I will go to. They have grade A tanning beds, great employees, & overall great experience!

I don't have many requirements for tanning salons, but these are the things that concern me: - Clean beds. Nothing grosses me out more than walking into a bed that I know some other nekkid bod has been laying on and seeing the remnants. -Bulbs that accomplish something. I'm paying to get a tan, I'd like to have one in a reasonable amount of time. -Friendly staff. I only see you for 30 seconds, and I'm really not asking anything of you... be nice to me. I went based on Elle's review and I am more than satisfied with the product. Their base level beds are top notch, the girl who set me up with my initial package was extremely friendly and knowedgeable AND didn't pressure me to buy anything. I'm pretty passive aggressive, but I know what I want and if you go all sales(wo)man on me... I probably won't buy a thing. I digress, this girl didn't. So I bought. Since then, I've gone in while 2 others were working, and they were both equally helpful. The rates were right on the money, the beds are spotless, and I started noticing a huge difference after my second visit. Also, if you're of the paler variety or you only tan occasionally, individual tans are charged by the minute. While I'm more of a regular tanner (when I bother to do it), this could be quite beneficial to some. I recommend highly! read more

Pretty run of the mill tanning salon. Typical DuBourg high school soccer girls behind the counter, gives you the basics without the frills. Don't try to force you into a membership (coughcoughTANCOcough). Pay by the minute. That's cool. Why the star deduction? I don't get to choose my music. Maybe that's silly to some, but are you the type of person that changes the radio station when commercials come on? Then listen up. Some tanning salons have beds with their own speakers and you can control the radio and volume yourself. Here, there's a speaker blaring overhead, and you're subjected to bad music 10% of the time and advertisements 90% of the time. Maybe it was just this last experience, but it just so happened that I walked in right as a song was ending and left right as one was starting. And I was in the room that had the speaker directly above me. So instead of a relaxing fake-bake session, I was subjected to very obnoxious, loud radio advertisements for 10 straight minutes. I couldn't *wait* to bust out of there. Maybe I'll bring earplugs next time. Or maybe tolerate the harassment at other tanning salons if it means I get my own radio (sacrifices, people). I can not comment on the actual tanning beds. I only get spray tans. When mystic tans first came out, for a short time I had a membership here. This past weekend I was in a rush and didn't have time to go to my regular salon and while running to target I ran in here. Worst spray tan ever!!! I ales for the darkest possible and it didn't give me any color. NONE! If I didn't leave town immediately after I left there, I would have gone back and asked for my money back. Not to mention, their spray tan booth is ancient! It quite possibly might be the same booth as when I was a member there....over 10 years ago! Very disappointed! Went in today for the first time and I had a groupon to use. The owner was extremely nice and very knowledgeable about the VersaSpa booth. I wanted to do a medium clear because I did a dark clear before and it was too dark. He didn't up sell or push any product on me it he explained the pricing. He told me that they had a package of two for $37 and I bought them. I wish I would have gotten the owners name. I would recommend going to Xtreme Tan. read more

I've been to a lot of tanning places before, but now I stick to this one since it gives me the best tan! I've been going here for over 3 years now. I always look forward to tanning not only because I know I'll come out of the bed bronzed, but Kevin (the owner) and his staff are super nice and caring. I'm always greeted with a smile and they brighten up my day no matter what. And being in sales myself, I have a high expectation for customer service and they exceed it! He is constantly changing the bulbs, the place is clean, and there are a lot of different bed options (my favorites are levels 4, 5, and the standup!). I usually tan for a week or two each spring and summer to get a nice base tan for the warmer months. I appreciate the staff not trying to sell me products I don't need or push packages on me. I've been tanning like this for years and can tell you this is rare and it's what keeps me coming back to this particular salon. If you are in need of a product they are sure to have it and more than willing to help you find what you need but again it's not forced on you. I worked at a tanning salon years ago so I think I tend to be a bit picky especially when it comes to the cleanliness of a salon and you can tell that this salon works hard to keep all areas (lobby, bathroom, tanning rooms) very clean. Staff is friendly but not over the top so you can get in and out no problem which is important to me. Bulbs seemed to be replaced regularly because the staff will warn you of a bed has new bulbs so you can adjust your tan time accordingly if need be. What more could you ask for?! read more

First let me point out that my experience is based only on my spray tan I got. They only have a very old mystic tan machine. By old I mean it is chipped and looks like it has never been cared for or properly maintained. The spray inside the bed was heavy on the left side and extremely sparse on the right side almost like the sprayer was clogged so in turn my whole right side including my arms and legs and face look like a cheetah...wtf. I want to first clarify a couple things. This was not my first time getting a spray tan... In fact I would consider myself a pro at spray tans because it takes a certain skill and technique of applying the barrier cream to have a perfect natural spray tan. No I did not take a shower when it was still drying, no I didn't splash water on my arms, no I didn't soak in a bath tub, yes I did exfoliate before my spray tan, no I did not wear tight fighting clothes afterwards. I did everything to standard operating procedure and my spray tan is embarrassing . I won't be back and I will be sure to tell my clients to not use their mystic machine. read more

So I bought a Groupon worth $30 so I could try out this spot. After tanning the first time in a level 2 bed, which is$29.99 for 2 weeks(the same as the Groupon), I asked if I could upgrade to a level 4 bed, which is $54.99 for 2 weeks. I ASSUMED they would just subtract the amount of the Groupon worth $30 from the 54.99 and I'd pay the extra plus tax, which would be no more than an extra $30. When the girl called the Manager to get a dollar amount they quoted me $59.99. I was trying to explain the Groupon was worth$30 and id be paying more even with the Groupon. He kept asking how much I payed for the Groupon, which is irrelevant. If I payed $2, $11 or $15 it's still worth $30. That didn't matter, so I declined and tanned one more time. It bothered me that they were trying to cheat me. They could've got an extra $30(what is was willing to pay) to lay in a bed for 7 minutes when there were 0 people in there. Very clean,very friendly staff,but the lamps were not properly maintained with adequate UV output in the stand up I went in. I usually go 2 times a week and I ended up going 5 times in a week and not getting the desired results. I have had nothing but good experiences at this Xtreme Tan location and I have now tried the Mystic Tan from here and I loved it. I myself had NEVER done a mystic tan anywhere before so I was a little worried about any streaking or having the color be "blotchy" and it did neither. I will say that I thought that the people who worked for them would have tried this so they were able to assure me of a good experience but they could not as the 2 ladies I talked to had never tried. All in all I had a good experience and I will be going back for the Mystic Tan for sure. read more

I will not be returning to this place ever. Im so very upset because i loved tanning here. The problem i encountered here is that the customer is NEVER right. I used to work at a salon where i sold many many many packages, memberships & services. As do the girls that work here. I came in on March 3rd and signed up for their level 3 EFT - the monthly membership. Before i even stepped foot in here, i called the salon and asked pricing and pro rates and all that good stuff. The girl who was working gave me my pricing over the phone so i decided i would just come in. I came in, and she explained to me - i would pay a prorate to cover my tanning until APRIL 15th. I said GREAT! So cheap! Yaaayyy! I was getting one month and a few days for about $30.00. (It was actually 28.00 after taxes). Well, she mis informed me and my FIRST draft was supposed to be MARCH 15th!! It never drafted because i didn't account for that money and so it wasn't in the account. Well, i went in today and Kevin - the owner said i owe the first month. After a little aggravation i was heading to get cash to pay for my first month until i remembered, the girl who signed me up told me my FIRST draft would be due on APRIL 15th. So i called up there and spike with the owner, kevin. He argued with me for TWENTY minutes this morning over the phone until we agreed he should call his employee to hear her side. He called me back and told me she said "no i told her this month". Weird, because on my receipts and my phones calendar - i wrote APRIL 15th! SO AFTER ALL OF THIS BULLSHIT (Excuse my language) KEVIN DID NOT DO ANYTHING BUT CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. All he said was "Ally, i have bills to pay, i would never give a level 3 bed at that price, and how he was "sorry" i felt scammed". If you go here, get your information in black & white, otherwise you're screwed. RULE #1. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT & RULE #2. DONT ARGUE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. I just bought a package. I had went elsewhere for years and I was tired of always being pressured to buy additional lotions, etc. The owner and the lady working at the desk were amazing!! They were so awesome and they have packages to accommodate every budget. They are the kind of company you want to do business with. Today was the first time I've visited Xtreme Tan and my entire experience was AMAZING thanks to Amanda. I haven't tanned in two years and I really missed it and decided to start tanning again today. I went to that other place down the street not knowing they weren't who they used to be. I had gone to that place for well over 18 years and was pretty let down by a few things - I couldn't commit to them anymore (WAY OVERPRICED) So, on a whim, I stopped in Xtreme Tan to check it out. Amanda informed me they were about to close and I mentioned that I was checking out the fees. I told her that I was pretty dumbfounded by the pricing since I hadn't tanned in so long. She was so friendly, very assuring, extremely patient, professional, and most importantly accommodating. I LOVE this place. I hadn't been in years and tried a competitor nearby last week. I paid more at the other place for ONE spray tan than I did for an ENTIRE week in a Level 4 bed and two packs of lotion today at Xtreme Tan. BONUS: to upgrade to a VersaSpa with my package, it's $15! NOT $40. The other place made me look splotchy and ridiculous. I didn't spray today, but did a Level 4 bed. I already look better than the $40 spray at the other place. If that's not enough, Kevin is the nicest, coolest, most knowledgeable and accommodating owner I've ever encountered at a tanning place. He's got something great going at Xtreme Tan. I paid for my daughter and myself to have 3 weeks each. My daughter had already been tanning and I just extended her time. I was told in the bronzer bed I would not burn. The first day the bed time was set for 8 minutes but after 6 I jumped out because I felt a little burning sensation. The next day I stayed the 8 min because I never felt the burning. As the day went on you could see more and more how burnt I was. I couldn't go back for a week. In the mean time I got a job in another town and was out of town all week only able to come on Saturday and leave Sunday. The next week we were moving so I was unable to tan. I asked the owner if he could refund half my money as I had only use 2 days. I thought that was more than reasonable. He said no. He said he would give me tan minutes, but I could not use them out of town. Later he told my daughter no refunds are posted. I never saw that sign so I asked my daughter about it. She said it was over the tanning lotions that are high on the wall. She said she saw it when she was buying lotion. I never bought lotion and never saw the sign. If your putting the sign so out of reach for people to see it, you must not really want them to see it. Even if I had seen it, I only used 16 minutes on two consecutive days and recieved a good burn. I didnt complain even though I wasnt getting to use the time I paid for. But when I moved I thought it fair to refund half my money when I didnt even use a quarter of the time. It may be his right to do business this way but it doesnt make him decent and honest. Why does he help out one customer and not all???? read more
