I love the vibe and the art at Immortal Beloved RVA. It's always been top-notch until recently. Now, when I've gone in, they have a dog at the shampoo bowl and that's happened a couple of times. I asked them to not schedule me with the dog, since I'm allergic. I thought it was one of the customers therapy dogs at first. Now, I'm starting to think maybe it was one of the owners. That wouldn't be so bad if I was able to continue with the appointment that I scheduled. I tried to reschedule it because my car was in the shop and wasn't ready yet. I called on a Monday thinking that would be fine and just reschedule. Unfortunately, they weren't open on Monday I found out. I was still getting a text saying that I had an appointment Tuesday. So, I was able to borrow my husband's car. So,I called before I drove down there since I wasn't sure whether my appointment was canceled or not to double check since no one had called me back. Then, the front desk girl said that she had canceled it and we rescheduled it with her for another day. So, I said that was fine, even though a lot of my time was wasted. I didn't even get to go pick up my car because we're spending so much time going back-and-forth with the front desk girl about appointments that day. By the time I got off the phone with her, the car dealership was closed. So now I didn't have my haircut or my car. That sucked. Not very good customers service. At least if we could have rescheduled that would be better than nothing. so we rescheduled for May. Unfortunately, a couple days later I got a call saying that my appointment was canceled and to never come back. They said I was a chronic rescheduler and they're canceling appointments with me. I only scheduled about two appointments a year. I don't even remember them ever talking to me about that before. The lady at the front desk insisted that was their policy. I couldn't find that anywhere on the website. I don't know why we couldn't go forward with the appointment after knowing that in the future but they just canceled it completely at that point and they haven't returned any of my calls or texts. Even when I said I could come in using my husband's car at the time. They said it was too late. It's just ridiculous! I planned for all situations. I feel like I did everything I could. It's frustrating because I don't think that everything was given to Jessica. I never talked to her directly. It was only to the front desk. Clearly she wasn't giving them all the information. So, it was just really frustrating. I've been a long time client and to lose that was awful. She was my friend and I didn't even get to say goodbye to her. Then the head of the company never called me back either. So, they just blacklisted me with no recourse and no phone calls or anything. I called back and nobody returned my calls. Their excuse was my hair was too short and too soft. Funny thing is it was a different braider this time. Now tonight got my hair braided again it has been months and my hair is now a little bit longer and i got goddess braids. The parts were uneven and my hair is coming out the braids. The lady thought it was okay and charged me 10 dollars for the inconvenience. Of course they had another excuse that my hair was too short and because im natural. I have been to other shops and never had this problem ever. I offered to leave twice and they told me they could braid it. Beware of them if they said your hair is too short leave. (my hair is 5 to 6 inches long by the way). When i said something they caught an attitude and thought my hair looked okay. I'm not even mad at the hairstyle itself. I'm mad at the fact that she kept braiding and knew it looked bad and thought it was okay.

She has a nice little rental spot in a large building dedicated to hair stylists and is super friendly and fun. She gave me a great all-over color to cover a few grays and did a dry cut on my hair. Both the color and cut turned out beautifully. I'm becoming a regular for sure!
