One year transformation
Amanda T.

This amazing gym has been my saving grace!! I will be hitting my 3 year anniversary at this gym and they made it SO easy during times of uncertainty during Covid shutdowns. We had daily zoom workouts and gym rental equipment to keep us going!! I can't say enough about this amazing community. CrossFit has completely changed my life and the members/coaches here will be friends for life!! I'm sharing a photo from my most recent nutritional challenge--this is a one year difference! Do yourself a favor and check them out, I'm sure glad I did!

My transformation from May 2019 to November 2019 thanks to nutrition change and WODs at XS CrossFit.

Mile High Crossfit! I waited for a few months of membership to write, so I knew I had consistent…read moreexperiences. I had decided last year, around August-ish, that I was going to start putting in some more effort to get into shape. I am the kind of person that isn't knowledgeable enough in terms of fitness and diet to get on the wagon and stay on, so I thought that a crossfit gym would be a good idea. I reached out to a several places that are within 10 miles or less of my house/office. I visited 2-3 of them and asked some questions while trying to get a feel for the type of environment that I would be committing to. From the time that I walked into Mile High Crossfit, I immediately felt great about this place, compared to the others. I knew from the first 5 minutes that, barring anything unforeseen, this would be the place I picked. It might have something to do with being greeted by the sounds of Notorious BIG blaring throughout this entire gym, but who knows. Then I met a badass looking guy named Kris who introduced himself and asked me what was going on. Kris was all tatted up and cool as a cucumber. The best part of my interaction with him was that he wasn't "selling" anything. He asked me about my goals and I told him what I was thinking. He explained that crossfit was what he used as part of his conditioning when he was a professional MMA FIGHTER for 9 years! Aside from knowing that this guy could literally kill me in 2 seconds, I was getting amped at the thought that he was a trainer or something here. Then I came to find out, he is the CO-owner with his wife Bekka. She is equally as cool and ripped. This couldn't have been any better. If you aren't familiar with the movements that are involved in most crossfit workouts, they have an on-ramp period that lasts 30 days. You get to come in, work with them on the movements to ensure that you are comfortable. Then, after 3 days of on-ramp you can participate in the workout classes. This entire time, you are under no obligation to go into a contract with them. You can evaluate yourself and ask any questions that you have around the process. This is a Zero pressure experience. They have created an environment at this place that is like none other. After a few months of membership, I can say that they learn your name quickly, they take pride in doing things the right way, they have fun, and they LOVE what they do. My biggest fear at first was that I would get injured doing some of the complex movements or I would be too out of shape to participate in some of the classes. I quickly learned that they spend time every single class making sure that we are all warm and mobile so there is less possibility for injury! Also, they start every day with a framework of what we will be doing in terms of warm-up, mobility, and working out. Within that and without calling anyone out, they demonstrate the modifications that should be applied to every single movement if you cant quite do it, just yet. After a few short months of consistency, my friends are making comments about how I look and even my girlfriend is noticing the increase in my strength/tone. #BONUS One of the best parts is watching as newbies come in and want to check the gym out. They see the same Kris, Bekka, Lou (Coach), and Rob (Coach) that I saw that first month and every day after. They are knowledgeable, they care about you and your goals, and they are motivating! The workouts are class-style for the most part, although they do have an "open gym" scheduled daily as well. During the time you choose to participate, your class will be lead by one of the awesome coaches the entire time. They will help you with form or any other area that you need it. They are there with you the entire time that it takes everyone to complete the workout. (Typical Class Schedule below) Crossfit isn't for everyone and I totally get that. You have to be ready to make this a part of your lifestyle in order for it to do for you, what you truly want. That said, if Crossfit IS for you then there isn't a better place to go than to MILE HIGH CROSSFIT. Trust me on this. I am not as fit as I want to be, but from the looks of the people at Mile High Crossfit, if I continue working hard, it is just a matter of time! Weekly Class Schedule- Monday-Thursday 5:30am-6:30am (Crossfit) 6:30am-7:30am (Crossfit) 11:30am-12:30pm(Crossfit & Open Gym) 4:30pm-5:30pm (Crossfit) 5:30pm-6:30pm (Crossfit) 6:30pm-7:30pm (Crossfit, Weightlifting & Open Gym) Friday 5:30am-6:30am (Crossfit) 6:30am-7:30am (Crossfit) 11:30am-12:30pm(Crossfit & Open Gym) 4:30pm-5:30pm (Crossfit) 5:30pm-6:30pm (Crossfit & Open Gym) Saturday-10am-11am (Crossfit) Sunday-11am-12:30 (Open Gym) WHEN you do come in, shout me out. Before plugging it in I move to another and the screen wasn't working. Okay moving on through my workout 1st stationary bike, screen broken. Moved to gym floor & started the circuit machines - only 1 of 6 not working today. Better than usual I suppose. Workout completed One of my favorite things about this gym is the recover area, so I went to do the leg compression. 1st set (size small) air leak in zone 1. Next set (size small) air leak zone 1. Sitting in 3rd chair down, decide I'll just stick with this set and skip zone one but the chair is broken and won't lean back at all. Decide if I am going to switch chairs at this point I should grab another set but then I was informed the other two sets left out all had leaks too. So I do my 10 minutes with leaks and sitting up straight. Swing by the front desk because I've been a member for over a year and this is pretty much a regular visit here. Once during a GTX class the front plate of the treadmill just fell off while the girl next to me was on it. All we could do was laugh Hate to complain but decide it's time to say something although I've heard from other members it won't change anything... I give it a shot. I report all the items while my husband orders us two protein shakes (about $21) and she said I can file a concern on the app or she can relay the message Monday. I have no intention of figuring out how to report each thing on the app, I honestly don't care that much because we can always switch gyms but I thought I'd give a heads up to anyone considering joining. I do love lots of things about this gym but it's not seeming to be worth the price tag currently. Some pros include the private sauna's in each bathroom and their additional coed saunas by the pool. The pool area in general is awesome, the kids love the slide and the snack bar (not outrageous but priced like you are at a beach club) They do have an adequate amount of equipment, so even with a bunch of broken things I can usually find enough other things to do to complete my workout. Large parking lot and great location.

Be sure to hydrate and have a snack before to fuel your work out because it will be TOUGH! I signed up for the 8 sessions per month for $99. Orange Theory helped me lose weight more quickly than just walking. I quit after I got to my goal weight. I plan to return to get into better shape and lose the regained lbs. The patrons there range from overweight to very fit. And everything in between. The trainers are VERY fit, buff and toned. But the coaches left and the new ones were nowhere near the quality of the others and the equipment started breaking down and would not get fixed. The microphone screeched and the music was way too loud and awful. Seems like a business taking its members for granted.

I came here specifically because I needed a private shower. The woman (KERRY) at the front desk, KERRY did not explain where the private showers were or properly direct me. Instead, I ended up having to go into the locker room, which was dirty showers were with hair and looked like they had not been cleaned scrubbed in days it was disgusting and unpleasant, only to discover that the shower I was given was COLD. I then spent another $4 purchasing a towel, went back to the front desk, and told KERRYthat the shower was cold. KERRY 's response and attitude were incredibly dismissive. She didn't come check the shower, offer another option, or show the slightest concern that I had paid for a service that wasn't functioning properly. What made the experience even worse was how nasty and disrespectful the women at the front desk were toward me. (KERRY) Their (CAMERON) tones and attitudes made me feel unwelcome, as though I was beneath them or an inconvenience. Instead of treating me with basic courtesy, they were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I came in, paid my money, and expected reasonable customer service. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and completely disregarded. I had to Argue with KERRY to give me my $2.50 back she finally did the 2.50 and then wouldn't refund me for paper thin towel ($4) she sold me. Said I used the towel. How was I supposed to dry off after ice cold water was dumped on me. She (KERRY) stated she was not allowed to refund me ($4) for the towel and continued to argue with me. If you're going to charge people for access to facilities, you should make sure those facilities are clean, functional, and that your front-desk staff actually care when a customer tells them something isn't working. Staff (KERRY manager) should also treat customers with professionalism and respect, regardless of the situation. I would absolutely not recommend this place based on my experience today.
