They offer 5 signature beverages, aptly called "Hero Beverages, which consist: Liberty Bell (caramel & vanilla), Betsy Ross (wild blackberry & white mocha), Jet Fuel (spiced brown sugar & energy boost), 1776 (sea salt toffee caramel & mocha), and Smokey Joe (hickory smoke). They roast single origin coffees onsite and sell them in completely biodegradable pods, which only stay on their shelves for up to 30 days so the coffee always tastes super fresh. They are not like other biodegradable pods you may see for sale elsewhere, these actually ensure you get a fantastic cup of coffee each time. I started talking to the baristas, Lisa and Anastasia, and shared that I used to work for Starbucks and was amazed how the same coffee could taste completely different if it was prepared differently. Lisa promptly took out two bags of coffee and prepared a pour over of each. They were the same beans, but roasted at different temperatures. She gave tastes to me and another customer. It was amazing how different the coffees tasted, and they even had different colors. It was such a cool experience! I bought a box of Columbia medium roast pods, which I've been enjoying every day this week. They have several coffees available to try, along with pastries and made to order sandwiches. It's located in an industrial area, off the main road, but is well worth the trip if you're looking for some delicious coffee. It's become my go to coffee roaster in the Richmond area.

We went to the store before hitting the bookstore an a couple of sustainable stores nearby. Their latte menu is huge and they can make a lot of different combinations of lattes. They also have cafe affogato which I wanted to try but chickened out since it was early in the day for that much sugar. I got the pistachio white chocolate mocha latte and since it was their birthday, they had free whipped topping and sprinkled with all drinks. I got the whipped topping on my iced coffee and it was amazing! I could taste the nutty flavor of pistachio and also the white chocolate. They didn't fill up the cup with ice and give very little drink which I also appreciated. They also had pastries and some food items but the food menu is relatively small. I'll come back for coffee when I'm in the area for sure.
