Horrible experience here. I wanted to get glass fitted for a frame I had gotten at IKEA. I was there trying to give them business, and this older gentleman (presumably the owner) proceeded to give me a lecture about child slave labour and basically why I was an idiot for buying anything from IKEA. Now... I understand that small businesses have had a rough go, especially during this economic down-turn, but this man was basically a walking/talking billboard for why I shouldn't give him business.
If someone comes into your shop and tries to give you business, especially during times of economic difficulty, why would you give them a negative and uncomfortable experience? Why would make them want to walk out? You're trying to make money. IKEA is trying to make money too, and they do a great job of it, because they give their customers a great experience as well as a quality product. That's why I'm going back to IKEA and no... I don't feel guilty that I'm supporting child slave labour... because I don't think that IKEA, despite being a massive corporation, has child slaves manufacturing their goods.
Best of luck small business frame man, you're going to need it! read more
