I was looking for a housewarming present for a pal, and through some Yelp stalking her reviews found that she quite likes the Jam Art Factory (it's Emily C for those playing at home). I'd actually not noticed this shop on our previous visits to Temple Bar so thanks Yelp for guiding me here. It's an amazing gallery-style shop with an amazing range of prints, framed pictures and artwork which can accommodate most budgets. There's also a good range of cards. I grabbed a print and a card, and found the guy working here to be incredibly friendly. I'll be honest: I was feeling sick as hell and needed a pub nearby where I could chill for an hour or so. I asked him for his honest advice and he recommended a couple of places nearby on the edges of Temple Bar. Sadly we didn't take up his recommendations but they were appreciated all the same! Prices were really good - as I said, there is something here for every budget. There were some framed prints that I liked and they were also being sold as solo prints for about 1/4 of the price so you could choose which suited you. If you like Dublin and interesting gifts, this is a place you've got to go. I also endorse gift-shopping for yourself, so don't think you need to buy for someone else!

As an aspiring artist and cartoonist this shop is like my heaven. The amazing thing is how small it is and still I could spend an hour in there looking at every picture. What I love most is the variety from small hand drawn cartoons to some amazing big prices of art. Every time I visit the shop I find something else that I "need" to buy. I think it's priced very fairly and because of the range of artists there is something for every size budget so don't be put off by thinking it will all be super expensive. The staff are great -I was there a few weeks ago and spent ages chatting to the girl behind the counter about which ones we both liked and disliked. She knew every artist and their backstory which is great to hear. I also love how local a lot of the art is with iconic Dublin images like the chimneys and lots with that Dublin humour that cracks me up Right in the middle of temple bar but with a really small door it would be easy to pass by.

Jam Art Factory is an old favourite of mine and I've featured it on my blog and in free-lance work in the past but hadn't been in a while so it was great to revisit on Yelps #DublinDesignNight - run by two great lads who are patrons of the arts and huge supporters of Irish Design this shop is a great place to shop in both in person and online. Great for presents or for hooping for your home. A must for design lovers

If you're looking for a present for someone whilst supporting local artists, this is the job…read more It's a deadly little shop just a smidgen outside the main city centre drag that has some really interesting pieces in it. Lots by local photographers and street artists (have my eye on a Solus print that I can't get out of my miiiind!) There are also lampshades and photo blocks, placemats, bags, t-shirts n all kinds of random stuff. This makes it sound like it's just another one of 'those' shops though. You know the ones. Nice to look around. Smile anemically at the shop attendance. He smiles hopelessly back. You walk out, empty handed, with the thoughts of the pretty bits you saw gone already by the time you get to the nearest Spar. Not so in the Jam Art Factory! Honestly there were about 17 different things in here I could have bought for myself or others. They are all completely unique and most are Irish (in fact, from Dublin). But not Irish in a shilaley kinda way - in a much more 'Jezus we're deadly' kinda way. They also do framing by the way - if you do buy one of their pieces, or if, like me, you've been hoarding prints and paintings for years, clinically fearful of the price of putting them behind wood and glass. I've been assured that it won't set me back a frightening amount, so I will be back, and will update this accordingly.

Walking to St. Patrick's Cathedral, I came across this gorgeous shop window with quirky posters…read morehung across like washing line. The artwork and sayings were wise, witty, funny, ironic and hip and I loved the look of the shop so wandered in to find out it was an art coop of sorts, which featured only local Irish designers and artists. I loved a local artist's take on Tintin as Hipster and ended up purchasing this poster of a screen silk of a young Alice-in-Wonderland-type-of-gal looking at these butterflies on a page from an old thesaurus. There was also just other lovely cool decorative arts stuff. The bloke behind the counter was also gregarious, engaging and passionate about supporting local art. Loved the store, and highly encourage local Dubliners to go and support their neighborhood artists! Note: #282 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016
