Two years ago, I had my old Jeep tinted at Alta Mere. After two years, the windshield tint started peeling from the top. To their credit, I called them and they agreed to redo the work, but then the Jeep got totaled on a long road trip. Enter the new 4Runner! This time around, I wanted a premium, high quality installation, even if it meant paying a premium price. After checking reviews, I found this location. It looked like a corporate owned shop, and it turned out it actually is. I called for a quote and set up an appointment. Dropping off the truck on the scheduled day was pretty smooth. I already had an idea of how dark I wanted the tint, but I wanted to verify my choices with the front desk rep since she sees these setups every day. She gave me some great advice, so we rolled with it. The entire process from drop off to pick up took about four hours. Because the weather was rainy and cloudy during the first week, I noticed some bubbling early on. However, during the second week, I parked the truck out in the sun, and 90 percent of those bubbles cleared up almost immediately. By the end of week two, they were completely gone. We went thru Tesla Service, via the app. They have a package that's under warranty for a Model Y. We got our front/passenger/quarter/ rear windows tinted. The cost was very reasonable and covered under warranty! XPEL was quick to acknowledge our request and get us scheduled immediately! Upon arrival, they confirmed the order and went over the tint color and recommended what was best. We went with 30% in front, 10% on rest since the windows are already colored. Customer service was superb and efficient! I was quoted approximately under 4 hours and it was done in 2.5! Since the order was paid upfront- nothing else needed to be done and I was on my way home! This was my second time here. I had to come in to get tint put back on after having the front windshield replaced. They were able to see exactly what I had done previously and get me scheduled. I met the manager Jovani at a Porsche club event XPEL sponsored in the Hill Country and discussed getting a 10+ year old 3M clear paint protection replaced on my 911 GT3. Other shops didn't want to do it due to the difficulty in removing the old film. It took over a week to get the old film off and there was no damage to the bumper with the old film removal. New clear film is a huge improvement. Bumper looks bright and Shiney again and great job with the application. No lines can ever see and edges go out further and are much cleaner than the previous one was. I wasn't even charged for the extra time it took. Will definitely be using them for my paint protection needs in the future. read more

Just a few photos of so many details missed. They had my car for a week to do the full PPF. Unfortunately it just looks like they rushed it and did not have any quality control. Several areas have something under the PPF, not sure if they clay bared like they said. Other area have large air pockets still. Sadly, I went with them even with the higher prices thinking they would have a more quality control. Not sure if this was just a one time thing since so many reviews rave about them. read more

I'm updating this review as promised. Overall, XPEL did a nice job in wrapping the car. The car looks great, and I really like the Stealth finish. We've already seen the protective properties of the wrap and are very impressed. However, it is frustrating that we had to drive the car to and from Dallas 9 hours each way (with a Tesla, of all cars) to get our issues fixed. We don't live in Texas, and we spent money to fly to Dallas and pick up the car, just to drive it back there again. Had they taken their time to wrap and quality check the car the first time, we would not have had to drive back to redo some pieces. They had to rewrap the trunk piece 3 times. The first time, there was a huge obvious seam. The second time, the piece was lifting and not adhering to the car. The third time, the car was accidentally scratched near the emblem, and the only way to make it less noticeable was to rewrap it. The final wrap is very good. There is no seam, and the edges are rolled so that it cannot lift off the car. However, there is debris caught under the wrap, which XPEL has told us is normal. Another frustration is that each time someone met us to go over the car with us, it was not the person who originally wrapped it. At our very last pick up, we were assured that an installer would be there to meet us and go over the car. However, at the last minute, it was not an installer, but an apprentice, who met with us. We would've liked it much better if the installer who wrapped it was there to address any issues before we took the car home. Houston offered us a free tint as compensation for our troubles. We were assured that we would get 70% on the front windows and 50% on the back windows and back windshield. However, when we picked up the car, the car was done 70% all around. Apparently, they did not have the 50% in stock, even though we were told they have it. I understand that it was a free tint, but it would've been nice to get what we were promised. The tint also has lint underneath it, causing it to not adhere properly. We are happy with the wrap. However, I think XPEL could really work on quality control, making sure that the original installers are there at pick up, and delivering what they promise. read more

This is my second Tesla and having moved recently to DFW, I need to find a new ppf installer (you can check out my review for the previous installer). Derrick responded quickly to my online inquiry, and Morgan was extremely helpful in the whole process. It was a very smooth experience, and the ppf is done perfectly, I almost cannot tell that it is on. I also had the sunroof UV film installed. I used to have the sunroof kit from Tesla shop to block the summer sun, but I did not like the fabric screen dangling over my head, and it completely blocked the view of the sunroof. The UV film is perfect, I can sit in the car under full sun at noon with no problems, and it leaves the view open. Would definitely recommend and come back in the future for any new cars I get. read more

STAY AWAY. First of all, this location does not even have their own tinter. They have a guy that is contracted to come in and tint windows. He did such a bad job that my tint was peeling off before I picked up my car. We told the manager we wanted it removed, which the did. He told me I wouldn't be charged for the tint, yet I keep getting late payment notices from the company. When I call the office in San Antonio they are asking me to email them regarding the issue. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I tried to report them on the BBB website and guess what, they're not even listed as a business. read more

Cassie answered the phone and managed to answer all my questions, then put me in contact with Derrick who lined me up with an appointment to get a visual of my custom hood. I have a 2019 Mustang GT with a Carbon Fiber hood that was just installed, drive up from McAllen Texas to get this done and was not disappointed with the product! I stopped in at the shop and met Houston who showed me around and told me about the services they provide. While there, I learned some about XPEL window films and tints. I decided XPEL Prime XR window film was just what I was needing to battle the Texas heat and protect the interior from UV damage. After my new Mazda CX-5 arrived, I took it in to have window film added to my windshield and my front 2 side windows with the side windows getting tinted film. About 3 hours later, the work was finished and ready for me to drive away. The work was beautifully done, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The cabin is so much cooler now when getting into it after it's been sitting out in the sun for some period of time.
