I had managed, about an hour before, to put sunscreen in my eye and even after several rinses was literally at the point of tears. The kids are pooped and each place we see is either packed or appears to be much more bar than anything else. So when we saw an unoccupied table in the back of this place it didn't matter what the quality was we were eating here! Lucky for us the food was awesome. They had sausages and chorizo and wedges of a potato pastry that I wouldn't have originally considered tapas but it was delicious. A fair amount of veggies worked into the mix. Amazing sangria. The Spain v Portugal game was on so the vibe was "Let's cheer our home town guys to victory". We didn't see the end of the game and my eye was still killin' me when we left but my sweet wife was back to sweet and at least my stomach felt good.

Our favorite dish was by far the foie gras on a pastry. This isn't a pinxto that was displayed on the bar, but rather you order it off of the menu. It was recommended to us by other individuals in the restaurant and we so impressed. The foie was delicious, and the combination of it on the pastry was remarkable. There are a bunch of tables at the restaurant, most folks sit down and eat. It is a very relaxed, chill restaurant. The restaurant staff was so nice, asked us about our time in San Sebastian, and provided other great recommendations for us regarding places to eat, places to see, etc. Definitely recommend stopping by Txondorra!

There's only three tables, there's no menu, and apparently only locals residents know about it. They serve their food family style, and typically whatever the local fisherman caught that day --tomato salad with tuna and sardines, rape' (it's a fish), fried bacalao, pulpo (fried octopus), etc. I was told they open when they want, close when they want, and you're lucky to get a table even with a reservation. It's worth the effort though, especially if you make a day of it by hopping on the one little boat that takes you across the bay.
