No one greeted me as I walked in, I spent some time perusing the store with no one coming and asking if they could help me find something. I actually DID want the assistance. There were three attendants at the store, two men and a lady. One of the men did not even acknowledge me and he was right there at the register. The gentleman with the shaved head was the only friendly one. I want to support local businesses but with that kind of "service," I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

What endears me to this shop is that it is housed in what used to be part of an old machine shop. It still has the original plaster and wood beams as well as old doorways for the upper levels of the old building. It just smells old and historic. You can't fake it. What I notice the most about this place is that it call itself a candle shop, but there's not many candles that are sold there. They sell LOTS of Dia de Los Muertos decorations, books, magnets, coffee mugs, post cards and other assorted items that are not candles. There is also an ofrenda that is up year-round. It is very beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I love this store and have bought many items from here. They also sell incense here. Here is where I leave with a slight headache because I cannot help myself and I HAVE to smell it all! If you are one of those people who are into the spiritual crystal guru thing, then this store is also for you as they sell a myriad of gems and necklaces. They take cash and card. Sunset Row does get bonus points for having a sink, and the store is beautiful, with its tall ceiling and mellow sage coloring. This occult store has a very punk-witchy aesthetic with a hand-painted icon of Hekate, a statue of Baphomet and pentagrams formed with twigs and ribbon. It has all the staples of an esoteric store, so you can easily find candles, incense and crystals, along with jewelry, pins, stickers and patches. The clerk on duty was kind and willing to assist.
