I remember going to Pan Pipes in Hollywood about 20 years ago. But, where I live, there were closer places to buy esoteric sundries: candles and incense and eye of newt (your mileage may vary). Suddenly, I do a google search and realize that Pan's Apothika (the spiritual successor to Pan Pipes) is literally a block and a half from where I live! This occult store has a very punk-witchy aesthetic with a hand-painted icon of Hekate, a statue of Baphomet and pentagrams formed with twigs and ribbon. It has all the staples of an esoteric store, so you can easily find candles, incense and crystals, along with jewelry, pins, stickers and patches. The clerk on duty was kind and willing to assist. In my case, I was just looking for some basics, but Pan's Apothika offers other services of the occult persuasion. And prices are actually extremely reasonable So give this place some love. read more

I have been going to this store since it was Panpipes on Cahuenga. The new location is very close to the freeway and has easier street parking. Also, things can be ordered, delivered, there are options, if driving to Hollywood is difficult. Vicky is very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The store has everything needed for your witchery needs like candles, oils, incense, books, etc. The prices are pretty good. Also, a couple of times a week there are different people that can read your cards for you, for a separate fee, an appointment is usually needed. It is definitely worth checking out. read more

I recently discovered Pan's Apothika this year and it is my new favorite and go-to candle shop. I initially went to try out their new + full moon candles (which are dressed in house which I love). They will even dress them according to your needs/desires. This feels like the most authentic spiritual shop I've been to in LA, the service is amazing and the prices are always fair. They have a great selection of candles, jewelry, books, crystals, tarot cards, and more. Follow them on Instagram because they post a lot of updates on there like updated shop hours, workshops, in-house tarot reader pop-ups and more. My personal favorite is when they post about the details/forecast on the new moon, full moon, equinoxes and other astrological events. I tried Pan's for the first time today and I absolutely over the moon (no pun intended) about the shop and the energy. I am struggling with a few things in my life and the service and care that went into crafting my candle and making sure I understand how to burn it most effectively was phenomenal. Visited this store for the first time on Saturday since I have been wanting to check this place out. I usually visit the Green Man, but wanted to branch out and see what was available closer to me. Coming in I was greeted by an adorable friendly dog! And a lot of beautiful goods. Despite being with a customer the owner took time to greet me as well which was lovely! I didn't have any particular needs, just wanted to see what was up. The collection of herbs is vast and was glad I got to witness her put together an order for another nice customer and her dog in the store. (I'm sad I never got that girl's name since she was rather cool to chat with in passing!) I ended up getting a Resin Incense Sample kit, a neat three moon cat coaster and a few nazar charms to put in various purses I own. 10/10 would recommend coming here and check the store out and buy a few things. I went here about three years ago, and want to write a review for that. I will likely visit again when in town. I bought many small tumbled crystal stones, a wooden pentagram wall hanging, assorted other goods as I was just coming back from a long, strenous work trip and needed a boost. I actually took my family member there with me and we all had this synchronous moment in there, where the lady suggested a turquoise stone for me, and my relative goes "Aha! I was thinking to pick the turquoise for her." Synchronous moments! I also enjoyed the ambiance of the shop, dark walnut wooden shelves, this is near Hollywood area in Los Angeles. I also recall a woman coming in somewhat upset and Vicky talking very calmly to her about energy management. I've never been to Pan's before and with this current lockdown my usual store to grab sage and palo santo is closed. I called a couple of stores that offered curb side pick up but the energy wasn't right. Called Pan's and Vicki's energy led me to drive to her location which is not close yet it was worth it. Eaaasssssy to vibe with. And the palo santo sticks are REAL not the chipped wood blocks that smell like a campfire (not that it's a bad smell but it ain't true aged palo santo that was allowed to harvest properly). Vicky was with a customer and greeted me as I walked through the store. I met Matt who ended up doing a tarot reading for me (amazing btw) but once Vicky was finished servicing her customers she and I had a LONG talk which I loved hearing about her pov and what I needed to do for my situation. She dressed my candle with what seemed to be 50 ingredients which was amazing!!! She took so much time and care to walk me through what I needed to do and how to set my intentions.
