I love this low key, hidden gem for candles, incense, incense holders, sage, and even earrings. Quiet, mellow, very wise vibe.

This candles store is super clean , highly organized & with attention to details! It's very warm, very friendly here. Their price points are great! Isn't too expensive and it's just right ! There are so many varieties here, you literally have to pick them up to smell them . The not just candles here they also have : soy candles, reed diffusers, room & linen sprays, incense sticks, air fresheners, air fresheners too! Friday Marie was working, she said if we had any questions and my sister in law sure did! She asked if there were any sweet grapefruit reed diffusers? Those are her absolutely favorite! Sadly we heard they don't make them anymore . My sister law was heartbroken she was so excited to go there to find it here, she really needs them for her classroom & Yes she is a teacher.. I would love it if they could make it again to help all those teachers that have deal with a lot smells, P.E, ect.. even though we couldn't find what we were looking for I still thought is a great candle store! The prices are so great and we hit on a sale and walked out with three crates of candles. I use candles everyday. Their selection is huge. You want it, they have it. They also have candle making classes. I am not about to take one, as I have a husband who loves to buy them for me. So, I know nothing about their classes, but there is a big space for them. The place is huge. They always make sure they have seasonal candles. We got some great Fall and Halloween candles. The service is great and they will direct you, but not make you nuts trying to sell you stuff. This is the best candle place in California.

I discovered General Wax earlier this year when I thought candle making would be a fun hobby. I brought a friend along to their North Hollywood location for what was advertised as an educational class. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like a class much at all but more like an activity. The 'instructor' claimed to sell her own candle creations, yet seemed surprisingly unknowledgeable. Our group was outspoken and asked lots of questions, but she was incredibly vague and nonchalant. When asked basic technical questions like how different fragrances react with specific waxes or how to choose the right wax for a project, she couldn't even provide clear answers. I really didn't learn much of anything at this paid class. (Fyi, I turned to YouTube!) The store itself is spacious and well organized, but be very careful with their pricing. I've found that many of their supplies are significantly marked up compared to local craft stores or Amazon. For example, I bought a digital scale here that turned out to be a non-functioning and non-reliable piece of trash. After some research, I realized they charged me three times more than better models available online. Thankfully, I was able to return it. Their fragrance selection and quality is mostly great and I do like their wax. The staff doesn't go out of their way to help but are approachable and friendly. What prompted this review today was a total lack of communication regarding their hours. I checked their website before leaving my house to ensure they were open. The only holiday closure banner on their website was for a holiday that happened months ago (labor day). After a 40-minute drive, I arrived to find the gates closed. I had to pull over and call, only to hear a recording stating they are closed for the next 10 days for holidays and inventory. It's incredibly irritating to waste that much time and gas because a business can't be bothered to update their website. Honestly, it shows that they don't really value their customers or their time.

The jewelry is handcrafted, and many pieces include the artist's name and a short bio, which adds such a personal touch. They also carry candles, bags, greeting cards, and products for men, women, and children. The variety is impressive, and I especially appreciated the large selection of handcrafted items. The associates are friendly, welcoming, and genuine. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and I noticed they recognized and acknowledged repeat customers. That's impressive, especially considering the number of tourists who visit the store. Another thing I appreciated is that they don't overwhelm you with emails. Their emails are event-focused and purposeful, which is refreshing. You're paying for quality, craftsmanship, and unique items you won't find just anywhere. The prices reflect the specialty merchandise they carry and the care that goes into selecting it. Parking... well, it's Pasadena! It can be challenging, with mostly metered street parking and paid parking garages nearby, but it's a pleasant walk to the store. I highly recommend Homage! It's a wonderful place to find unique gifts or treat yourself to something special.
