By far the best bicycle shop in Modesto. Took my son there today so he could buy a bike and we recieved the best customer service. They are a family owned and run business which makes it even better. They let my son browse with out following him around like other shops, they installed a different tire and prepped the bike for him while we waited, making sure he was happy. The lady over there said that she can true my bike, she took it from me and called me 4 days later and she lied and said that this wheel can't be trued and you need a new wheel, I told her okay I will bring you a new wheel and you can installed for me since this bike is under warranty, she said no we don't want to work on this bike and we are very busy , I have to came back to took the bike to another bike shop and he trued without needing to change the wheel. So she was a Untruthful and made me loose my time driving back and forth . I don't know why she lied or why she refused to work in my bike I think because she make mony in parts more than labor. Most bike shops stock road, mountain and cruisers. Xavis stocks stretch bikes as well as old style cruisers with springer front ends. They were very patient with me, pulled out 3 different bikes and then replaced beach bars with ape hangers for a test ride to see if it addressed my concern of reaching too far forward. This place is a disaster. I've waited a week for a simple job, made two extra and pointless trips to the shop, and now have the wrong spoke on my wheel. It would be difficult to do worse than this as a shop. I decided to try it out because the other local bike shops aren't great. It's a long drive on a far end of Modesto, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I brought my wheel in for a broken spoke and a wheel truing. I was quoted $25, which seppppemed more than fair. I was told the bike would be ready at 10:00am (Their opening time) the next day. I showed up the next morning (Saturday) to pick up my bike which I was planning to take on a trip. First of all, I showed up at 10:15 to find a locked shop. Since it's a 25 minute drive from my house, I decided to wait 10 mins. The shop finally opened and l was told the wheel hadn't been worked on and there would be a wait. Right there, I should have just taken back my wheel and left to another shop. But, instead, I gave them a shot. I was told my wheel would be ready in a few hours and I would get a phone call. I left on my trip and never received a phone call. Since the shop is closed on Sundays, my bike wouldn't be ready until Monday. Again, no phone call. On Thursday, when I had time to make the 45 minute round trip dive, I went to the shop at around 2:45. The shop was close with a sign that showed "Will Return" with a clock showing at 1 PM. Today, Friday, I showed up and was handed my tire and paid the bill. During that payment process I was told that they didn't have the correct spoke for my wheel (a higher quality spoke usually around $7), so they put on a regular $1 spoke. Of course, tomorrow I leave for a trip where I plan to bike. read more
