Did not have a positive experience with Golftec in Middleton. Purchased a fitting for irons and…read morehybrids in April with recommended buy of Ping G410. Purchased 6-PW G410 irons and three Ping G410 hybrids, 19,22,26. Spent a solid amount of $$$ on the Ping clubs via the custom fitting offered by Golftec/Tim B. Trusted that they knew what they were doing. Had a few challenges playing the clubs with a current six handicap. Worked with a MPLS pro who recognized that all of the newly purchased Ping clubs were shortened from standard length with the custom fitting. Used TRACKMAN session to confirm issue (purchased the Callaway Epic Flash driver and three separately and couldn't be more pleased with performance). Asked Golftec about this and they confirmed the conclusion of shortening the clubs. Subsequent action post my Golftec fitting? I had the three Ping hybrids reshafted to "standard length" at Club Champion and purchased Callaway Epic irons with "standard length" to replace my custom fitted set from Golftec. Far better performance as I'm no longer disadvantaged using shortened clubs. Spent lots of $$$ with Golftec to buy custom fitted clubs. Very disappointed with Golftec and Tim B. Objective data via TRACKMAN and playing results verify that I was grossly misfit by Golftec. Be cautious with Golftec given my less than positive experience.

Todd was very professional - didn't laugh at my poor swing, and left me with some helpful tips to take home with me. The advice helped and made golfing more fun. We've always had good food in Madison and even though we wanted to get home after a long day, we thought it would be worth the delay. Unfortunately, this time, it wasn't worth it. I feel like it's time and money wasted. I'll get to details, but I'm mainly basing this review on the quality of the food I received. Before getting to the food, our service was great. Our server was a bit slow considering there were only 3 tables (including us) occupied. Or it's more of a relaxed atmosphere, so she was just giving us a lot of time to look over the menu. But aside from that, she was friendly, helpful, and kind. Atmosphere is on the dark side. There are two screens to play games (golf, etc) on two corners of the building. I think there are plenty of options, but we were mainly in for food, and didn't really get much info on the games. I did ask whether they were run on a reservation basis, and the hostess (who was also our server) said yes. She didn't mention any pricing, so I'm not sure what the details on that is. Margarita special $5 This was great. Not overly sweet, and just the right amount of booze. It came in a whiskey cup rather than a margarita one. 3sheep chaos pattern on draft Price for draft beer is not cheap, and the beer was great. The glass it came in was super clean, but also warm. I think it just came out of the dishwasher... So clean, but beer glasses should be cold on principle. Wings The description says these are baked, and then fried before tossed in their sauce. The sauce is yummy. The wings are a fairly large size. But I think they forgot to fry it. The skin on the wings weren't at all crispy, but kinda mushy. The meat was well cooked, but also on the dry side. The celery sticks and carrot rings on the side were super fresh and crispy. Blind burger with side salad I ordered it done medium. It came out very well done. For a wagyu, it lacked fat content, and cooked for too long, so it was very dry. We had just hiked 4 hours at Devil's Lake and quite hungry, but I couldn't finish it. Seasoning was great though. And the side salad was also very fresh. Brussels sprouts Something I haven't done in the last 15 years... I had to ask them to redo it. It came out with underdone Brussels. Interestingly, after I asked them to heat it up more for me, it came out perfect, with the right amount of searing on all the cut sides. Overall, it feels like the kitchen was having a bad day and bad timing - wings needed to get in the fryer for longer, burger should've been out of the pan sooner, Brussels should've stayed in longer. For the prices I paid, I expect better food. Especially since the kitchen knows how to fix their stuff! It was like they put 70% into all the dishes until I spoke up. Would I go back? Nope. Not convinced that the 4.4 rating is justified for me.

Reasonably priced(if you play after 4:30 ,$51 for 18 w/cart,otherwise it's $62 ish) so we booked for after 4:30( gotta move if you wanna get the full 18 in).Nice setup with a driving range and putting green for practice and a decent pro shop and decent bar and eating area(they also had an auction going on in a separate event tent,which I assume is also used for weddings).The course has multiple tee boxes,and I do mean multiple,in order to make it easier or tougher,depending on you skill level.Their carts are really nice ,with yardage led screens and ball washers and divot repair bottles to fill in the divots course is well manicured and has several hazards to challenge you.That brings me to the one reason I don't give them 5 stars,the greens.Given the quality of the rest of the course,it was very disappointing in their quality. They were mowed well,but lots,and I mean lots of roughness all over( could be lots of the golfers just didn't pick up their feet),which at most courses I've played, were never as bad as this and were taken care of better.I definitely expected better given the quality of the rest of the course. All in all,still a pretty decent value.

In six sessions, Steve's got us actually feeling confident enough to actually play a round! I never thought that would be possible in so little time. Steve's encouraging and extremely kind. He answers any question you throw his way. I can't wait until my girls are old enough to take lessons, as I'll be sending them Steve's way! Golf's a great game, and it's definitely been a highlight of my summer to learn from one of the best!

The range is hitting off mats (like many places) and is decent value at $6/11/15 for small/medium/large baskets. They also a rangecard special where you can get $100 value for $80. The practice putting green is usually in good shape and is a good decently large area to practice your short game. As far as the course, I've only played the Billy Goat Par 3, and found it to be fun for beginners, with a range of distances from 90 to 180 yards. The greens and bunkers are maintained pretty well, given the harsh weather conditions in southern Wisconsin recently.
