We ordered a Classic with Bavarian seasoning and a Rosemary Lamb Bierock to go along with some jalapeño poppers. I really enjoyed the Classic with the additional seasoning. It gave it an added boost of flavor. My husband was pleased with the Rosemary Lamb. Each came with chips and a pickle. Next time, I hope we can stop in and stay for a cocktail or craft beer as well.

We joined a table of friends who were finishing their meal, as there were open chairs at their table which was next to an open table for two. The waitress came over. We said "hi" and asked to place our dinner order, start a separate check so our friends could cash out. We offered to move to the nearby separate table for two, as this sounded upsetting to the staffer as she said she was getting off and couldn't take our order. We said that was fine and she could send over another staffer, we wanted to make things easy. But she just left, and was clearly angry at us. Eventually someone else came to take our order. Took quite a while to get the food and drinks, but they were good, especially the french fries. But then we were told we could not pay for our order, as it had been added to our friends' tab and they had unknowingly already paid for us when they cashed out. It was weird. We are sorry to have upset the waitress, but not sure what we could have done differently, as there was no one there to seat us and we thought we could sit at an open table or join our friends. Cafe Domestique is the coffee shop and each day visiting I went for a cup of coffee, one day a dark roast the the other a lighter roast. Both coffees were incredible roasts and bursting with flavor and the coffee is some of the finest that I have found in the Madison area. Bloom Bake shop was my breakfast of choice two days on the recent trip and I went with a gluten-free scone each day. The lemon poppy scone was really nice but the real winner was the orange chocolate which was exceptional. They had a few other gluten-free options that I will be certain to check out on an upcoming trip back to Madison.
