I have been following a lot of different shops on Instagram, but I would just keep seeing these stunning pieces coming out of Ocho Placas. I would work and see such variety of different pieces, sure enough Ocho Placas. Javier, the owner, does some really incredible black work. Pooka, is the Miami flower girl for sure, she does the most true to form nature tatts. The artist I ultimately chose was Jerry Blades, he does the sickest Japanese style tatts. They also have a walk in studio, where you can get your piece designed and put on same day, which is cool. In my case though, It took me only like 13 years to commit, and when you are getting a significant piece, you want to get the best quality that you can. I was back and forth with Jerry and I am so proud and blessed to have chosen Ocho Placas for my tattoo. The piece took a few sessions to complete and it came out spectacular. The professionalism of the shop is on point. They are not cheap, but they are certainly worth the price of admission. You are certainly investing in a quality piece of art, and one that you will be carrying with you your whole life. I absolutely recommend this shop.

I called to see if this studio was taking walk-ins and luckily one of the artists, Pam, was ok to come in for me on short notice. The studio was very clean and the receptionist was very nice and accommodating. My artist listened to what I wanted, and even though what I got was tiny, Pam made sure that the placement and style of the tattoo was exactly what I wanted before getting started. The tattoo came out wonderfully and it has healed great! I'm so glad I got to check out this studio while in Miami. Maybe I'll get to get more work done here in the future!

I picked a design I had had my eyes on for at least 4 years, and looked forward to getting a hammer and anvil to mark 3 years of perseverance and willpower. Chris ruined the experience for me and turned it from a celebration of my own achievement to a showcase of his ineptitude and idiocy. From the moment I set foot in the shop, he gave me crap about the design: the placement of the anvil and pincers, the overall design, etc. Despite the fact that I provided my own reference material and gave clear instructions about what I wanted done, he half-assed the job and finished the tattoo in half an hour with the skill of Napoleon Dynamite. I felt revolted by his work as soon as I got back to my place and from the first moment I looked at it in the mirror, knew I wanted it removed. Now, as a seasoned tattoo collector with more than 20 on my skin, I am having to pay 3 thousand dollars and endure blistering lasers once a month because of this imbecile man's belief that he is anything other than someone with a skill (HA) who lends his abilities to others to make their vision come true. If you want to have your positive tattoo experience shat on and to endure tattoo removal for years afterwards, I highly recommend booking with Chris at Oxygen Ink.

This circus shop def has a clown and it's Roger My friends and I were on a trip to Miami and decided to get a trip tattoo to seal the end of our awesome trip. I checked out the shop, and artists and booked all 3 of us with Danny because I checked his work. When we got there though Danny had just stepped out and then Roger the snake he is kept saying, "oh him and I work together all the time, it will be faster if I do your tattoo also and Danny does your other friend." Myself and my friend got our tattoos done (simple design and one color) with Roger and then my other friend with Danny. You'll see the difference in the pics. Roger didnt even clean the stencil off because I'm sure he knew we would have seen his crappy work. The fact he used a stencil and these were simple tattoos and he still managed to mess it up says alot. Roger is a big fat RED flag. I went back after a couple hours as I started to see the issues on the tattoos. He supposedly tried to fix it but it was still crap. And then I wanted my money back and he said that only the owner can give a refund even though Roger was the one who took our CASH.He said I would have to talk to the owner, Emerson. Yet the owner wasnt there, conveniently. Well that night we flew back home. But I messaged Emerson on here, never got a reply. And then on Instagram, if that even was the owner, and we went back and forth and ofcourse he said let it heal and then get back with me. Which I did. Same thing he said to my friend when she messaged him. Roger is an artist for sure a Tattoo CON Artist. DON'T BOOK WITH HIM AND DEF DON'T BELIEVE HIM! The only job he should have at a tattoo place is as a front desk receptionist or outside twirling around a sign for people to get tattoos with way better artists.
