We normally stay at the Country Inn & Suites when we travel because they consistently provide the amenities we like. But we ended up booking the last room at a hotel in Elyria that was close to friends and our destination. Unfortunately our stay was completely unsatisfactory. The property was poorly maintained and the specific amenities that we rely on when we travel were inadequate. So we decided to find another hotel for our final night and stumbled upon the Cambria. It had our preferred amenities so we decided to give a try. We didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The property was extremely well maintained and peaceful. The staff was warm and helpful. And our room was excellent. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room layout was great for our two young kids. The pool was the cleanest hotel pool I've ever been in and the towels were kept fully stocked. We loved the fire pit and the pool table. And not only were there cookies in the lobby but also an apple pie for Memorial Day! And my husband LOVED the coffee provided in the library. We only had one small issue with our tv remote and it was addressed promptly. I have to specifically acknowledge Dominique at the front desk. She was extremely courteous and helpful at both check in and check out. We will definitely stay at the Cambria the next time we visit Cleveland.

It's also right next door to Costco and ranges about $115-$130/night. The hotel is nice overall, with a big fitness room, indoor pool and hot tub, two outdoor patios with fire pit and complimentary fruit infused water, coffee and tea. They have a paid buffet breakfast option, bar and dinner options. The breakfast buffet runs about $10/person, adult drinks average $7 or more minimal, I didn't try any of the dinner options, but there is a free appetizer coupon if you check-in on Yelp. The downside of my stay was the room service. My family was staying in about seven different rooms, and we all received very different experiences, but none too good. The cleaning service would consistently show up at different times or not at all. Various of us had to request them to come bring us clean towels, toilet paper, etc. because they didn't show-up some days. Additionally, sheets were supposed to be changed on the third day of your stay, which did not happen. One of the reasons I love staying in a hotel, is that I finally have someone else doing these simple tasks that I do daily at home. Hopefully Cambria can get their act together for the next stay.

While parking was included in the hotel fee (YAY!), the garage was not attached and was a hike away. While I was able to park and unload (leaving my stuff unattended inside) before heading to the garage when checking in - I had to lug all my stuff to the garage when I was leaving. The hotel staff was polite in answering my question about the credit card I had used to swipe into the garage - and the pass they gave me to get out. Room was lovely and big. We are 2 double bed people. There were beds and also a sitting area. And the usual amenities - fridge, coffee maker, etc. Bathroom was clean and linens plush. TV was nice and swiveled to watch from around the room. Wifi was a bit challenging. Fitness room looked nice but didn't get to use it as it was a short stay for me. Breakfast was nice - one of the better options you'll see when included with the room. They actually checked you in the serving room as I guess all guests are not eligible for it. Location is nice - we walked to dinner across the street. And it's right off the freeway. This is in my old hometown but the area was undeveloped when I was growing up. If you're looking for a place to stay - highly recommend except for the parking issue.

I had a mediocre experience while here, mixed with a few things I liked and more things that I didn't like throughout my stay here. Here are a few of the things I liked about this hotel: Laura checked me in, and she was friendly and professional. I found this hotel to be a safe and comfortable place to stay for a few days. This hotel has almost everything you would want in a hotel, and they also have a small gym, small pool, and a room safe for your valuables. They also offer a nice complimentary breakfast for their guests along with free coffee. Now for the things I didn't like: Driving to this hotel is ridiculously difficult, and I found it nearly impossible to drive to this hotel from the freeway without making an illegal turn or making a U-turn. I found it unusual that this hotel has a room safe, yet they don't offer a microwave in their hotel rooms. The gym and pool area appeared small but acceptable, but something that was unacceptable was the funky smell of mold and/or sweat lingering in these areas, which really needed to be cleaned to remove the smell. The air conditioning unit in my room worked well, but I found it rather noisy at night, waking me up every time it came on. The ice machine on my floor didn't work while I was here, and I had to hunt around the hotel for one that actually did. The toilet in my hotel room was cheap, and as a result, it clogged twice during my stay even with only a little toilet paper inside it. There was no fan in my hotel room's bathroom, so the bathroom would steam up too much after every shower. On one of the nights, some guests were letting their kids run up and down the hallway, which woke me up; this should not be allowed for the courtesy of others. On my last night here I needed to sleep in to prepare for traveling to the west coast (on a 3-hour time difference), and the housekeeping staff ignored my "Please do not disturb" sign on my door, attempting to enter my locked room. And finally, upon checkout, the young lady working here on that day offered no "thank you" for me doing business with this hotel; after I said "thank you" she actually said "you're welcome," almost as if this hotel was doing me a favor instead of this being a business transaction. Overall, I think this hotel has a lot of potential, but they fell short of average during my stay here. However, huge improvements could easily be made with a little effort and action from the management here.

At least not firm enough for me. Sorry, no photos of the room, we were so exhausted we jumped into bed. The morning staff was incredibly friendly and it was nice that they had a coffee station set up near the elevator for the people who wanted to just grab and go. They also had brown paper "to go" bags near the exit with pb&j, bagel, apple, and bottle of water where you can grab on your way out. The "included" breakfast was way better than I expected. When someone says continental breakfast, I think muffins, bagels, and maybe some croissants. They had a variety of cereal, oatmeal, bagels, cream cheese, fruits, croissants, mini frittatas, sunnyside up eggs (overcooked), and bacon. The bacon was still crispy! I was a happy camper. I appreciated the spacious eating/seating area.
