Stayed here after another hotel canceled my reservation. The girl at the front desk Friday morning was so nice and helpful. This was a last minute reservation and she helped out. This Courtyard was clean...the only two negative issues... was the sinks water pressure/flushing the toilet and that the first room had a mildew smell or sewage back up so she gave me another room. Rooms are clean and have mini fridges and a microwave. But this was definitely be my hotel every time I come to Cleveland. read more

Driving late at night from Grand Rapids, Michigan back home to Washington, D.C., my family of three walked into this hotel around 2am and got a room for the night. Here's our experience. 1) Check In: The woman behind the front desk was very helpful and friendly, especially for 2am. The walk in rate was $181 plus $50 for incidentals that we got back after check out. 2) Room: Staying in 404, we found our room with two queen size beds. Both were comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom was clean and the shower had good water pressure. 3) Amenities: There's free parking out front. Inside the hotel is a fitness room, an indoor heated pool, a small business center where you can access the internet and print documents, a cafe with a full menu and coffee, and a snack store. 4) Space: It feels new and the lobby is clean and spacious with plenty of places to sit, eat, and watch TV. read more

The hotel is very convenient right off of both interstate 80 and 90. It is clean and fairly priced. It is right next to an abandoned mall but there are about 4 restaurants close by in addition to the one in the hotel. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to be west of Cleveland. read more

Facility is great. Very clean, personal welcome on the TV when you walk in the room! Room is spacious. Bathroom is quite large- love the beautiful shower! Location of the hotel is a bit odd- situated on the outskirts of a large mall/store center, along with otter hotels. However the advantage to this is that there are many restaurants located in the same area. My only negative (and it is a small one)- the front desk staff seemed a bit cold and aloof. Not the warm, welcoming type of people you'd put in that type of position. read more

I'm a little lazy, so I will just copy the note I sent to the Marriott CEO, Tony Capuano... Mr. Capuano, I am writing to share our experience with the Courtyard by Marriott Cleveland/Elyria this weekend. To put it briefly, it was an exceptional stay with an incredible staff. We've stayed at the hotel in the past, and it's always been clean and convenient. However, this stay was on a whole different level. Starting with our check-in, where your front desk associate, Elizabeth, made sure that our three rooms were conveniently located with one pair of adjoining rooms for our adult kids. She was very responsive on chat (which I used because we were getting to town relatively late after a day of driving from Minnesota to Ohio) and when we got to the hotel, she was so accommodating and pleasant. Her attitude started our stay off on a positive note. It gets better, though! This morning when we were getting ready to check out, there was a medical emergency in one of the rooms and your Elyria Courtyard staff managed it perfectly. In fact, I was speaking with your barista, Carl, who had only minutes before administered CPR to a guest while emergency services were on their way. Turns out that not only did Carl save a life this morning, but he is also a decorated US Marine medic who was wounded in the line of duty, served 17 years as an ER nurse, and is currently studying to become an anesthesiologist. Carl is the epitome of Marriott values and I am thankful for having had the chance to meet him. I have been a loyal Marriott guest for almost thirty years, and this was among the best stays I've ever had. Thank you to the Courtyard Elyria staff for such a great experience. read more

I agree that this hotel is a bit of a hike, way out there away from town without much within walking distance or space/sidewalks to go for a run. Follow the signs to find this hotel, out past a few other hotels, behind the big mall. But once you get there, the property is new, clean, lovely, and staffed by some really pleasant and helpful folks! And they have a pool!! It is pretty small, but was clean and well-stocked with towels. I had the pool all to myself for two 45- minute swim sessions and it was just what I needed after a weekend of moving my kid to nearby Oberlin. This is a great option for Oberlin College parents, about 20-25 minute drive to campus. Very clean and spacious rooms. Extra pillows and cozy blankets. Free grab-and-go breakfast of packaged treats, fruit, yogurt, juice, milk, and coffee. There is an outdoor patio with a fire pit. The price per night with taxes was $255, for a King, as a Bonvoy member (free program, comes with a small discount). That's higher than I typically pay for a hotel room, but we were able to use Marriot rewards to stay for free. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

This hotel is right off the highway which is a plus but you do have to cut through this creepy run down mall area. The room was nice and clean and mobile check in was an option which was a huge plus. We really appreciated that especially since we were getting in pretty late. Instead of the bistro being open (due to covid) they had plenty of ore packaged muffins, bars, yogurts and juices out which was really thoughtful. They didn't have to do anything so this was really appreciated! read more

This is a relatively newer facility. It was clean, well-lit, and the room was nice, but I didn't feel the value was quite comparable to the price. Also, they have signs up that you must wear masks in the lobby areas of the hotel, but it must be a corporate policy that the local management is not instructing their team to enforce. That being said, if you're not enforcing your own corporate policy for COVID restrictions, you shouldn't cite COVID as the reason why you no longer clean rooms or empty trash each day. The two trash cans in the room are so small for a multiple night stay. read more

We stopped here between two destinations and were initially startled by the location near an old run down hotel and almost vacant mall. However the staff and facilities are clean and new. The gentleman running the breakfast bistro was doing an excellent job even if he was solo (which made service slow). Perhaps cross training the front desk person to assist with coffee orders would eliminate wait times and provide a more efficient morning. My only complaint is the smokers are setup immediately by the front door, it blows in and out of the entrance and everyone has to walk through the cloud. There's a patio just down a bit and would be more ideal for everyone. read more

Wondrous accommodations in a run-down part of town. Close to the highway, and a great Japanese restaurant, if you can find your way around all the potholes: the run-around. The room was spacious, clean, and sumptuous, with decor absolutely scrumptious. Check-in with ease and a lobby to please; a Starbucks for coffee (if that is what you call overpriced, over roasted, coffee-flavored sweetened drink that will break even a rich man's Brink) for those who disagree and put up a stink, of NO breakfast in the lobby, so leftovers of Japanese. That kept us going, all the way to Poughkeepsie. read more

This hotel was pretty cool. I was definitely a bit concerned because of the location but once inside all was well. The room was nice and appeared clean. The only concern I had was the shower water was not draining properly. That is my biggest peeve standing water in the shower. It was not fixed during my stay so that was a bummer. My best friend had a reservation to stay here but unfortunate circumstances prevented them from tending to their visit here. Since this is run down part of Elyria, and the surrounding hotels are literal trash, I was nervous to agree to her reservation but eventually was reluctant. I at first dreaded the visit because the Elyria hotel reputations, but this new hotel is absolutely beautiful. The pillows are Devine and I had one of the best sleeps in forever. The hotel room was beautiful with modern design and everything was neat, clean, and it felt so rich being in this hotel. The beds were so comfortable and clean. The lady at the front desk was so friendly. The pool was nice and warm, (although the temperature of the air could be a bit warmer) and the 24 hour gym had all working equipment. For how bad the area was, the hotel was top quality and I truly felt safe and comfortable here. I'm glad I agreed to my visit. We had an absolute blast here. The Starbucks coffee and delicious breakfast and restaurant/bar were a big plus! I would be more than happy to stay here again and highly recommend if you have to stay in Elyria, please stay here! read more

I participated in skipping room cleaning service for 3 days. I was only given points for one day. Tuesday, my room was barely turned over, there were things still on the floor and my blanket on the couch was thrown there. Thursday, my room was not cleaned. I called the front desk and they informed me that housekeeping left for the day. No one made the situation right with any sort of compensation. Being a gold member, I choose to stay at Marriott hotels because the service is great. This hotel felt like a motel stay at best. Very disappointed. read more

Very friendly staff, fairly new, clean hotel. The rooms are beautiful and well designed. The sink in our room was not working so we were given a different room and free breakfast. (Breakfast is not complimentary). We also had drinks and some decent, light food in the evening which was nice since we did not need to venture out.
