Driving late at night from Grand Rapids, Michigan back home to Washington, D.C., my family of three walked into this hotel around 2am and got a room for the night. Here's our experience. 1) Check In: The woman behind the front desk was very helpful and friendly, especially for 2am. The walk in rate was $181 plus $50 for incidentals that we got back after check out. 2) Room: Staying in 404, we found our room with two queen size beds. Both were comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom was clean and the shower had good water pressure. 3) Amenities: There's free parking out front. Inside the hotel is a fitness room, an indoor heated pool, a small business center where you can access the internet and print documents, a cafe with a full menu and coffee, and a snack store. 4) Space: It feels new and the lobby is clean and spacious with plenty of places to sit, eat, and watch TV.

Facility is great. Very clean, personal welcome on the TV when you walk in the room! Room is spacious. Bathroom is quite large- love the beautiful shower! Location of the hotel is a bit odd- situated on the outskirts of a large mall/store center, along with otter hotels. However the advantage to this is that there are many restaurants located in the same area. My only negative (and it is a small one)- the front desk staff seemed a bit cold and aloof. Not the warm, welcoming type of people you'd put in that type of position.

I agree that this hotel is a bit of a hike, way out there away from town without much within walking distance or space/sidewalks to go for a run. Follow the signs to find this hotel, out past a few other hotels, behind the big mall. But once you get there, the property is new, clean, lovely, and staffed by some really pleasant and helpful folks! And they have a pool!! It is pretty small, but was clean and well-stocked with towels. I had the pool all to myself for two 45- minute swim sessions and it was just what I needed after a weekend of moving my kid to nearby Oberlin. This is a great option for Oberlin College parents, about 20-25 minute drive to campus. Very clean and spacious rooms. Extra pillows and cozy blankets. Free grab-and-go breakfast of packaged treats, fruit, yogurt, juice, milk, and coffee. There is an outdoor patio with a fire pit. The price per night with taxes was $255, for a King, as a Bonvoy member (free program, comes with a small discount). That's higher than I typically pay for a hotel room, but we were able to use Marriot rewards to stay for free. I'd definitely stay here again.

This is a relatively newer facility. It was clean, well-lit, and the room was nice, but I didn't feel the value was quite comparable to the price. Also, they have signs up that you must wear masks in the lobby areas of the hotel, but it must be a corporate policy that the local management is not instructing their team to enforce. That being said, if you're not enforcing your own corporate policy for COVID restrictions, you shouldn't cite COVID as the reason why you no longer clean rooms or empty trash each day. The two trash cans in the room are so small for a multiple night stay.

Wondrous accommodations in a run-down part of town. Close to the highway, and a great Japanese restaurant, if you can find your way around all the potholes: the run-around. The room was spacious, clean, and sumptuous, with decor absolutely scrumptious. Check-in with ease and a lobby to please; a Starbucks for coffee (if that is what you call overpriced, over roasted, coffee-flavored sweetened drink that will break even a rich man's Brink) for those who disagree and put up a stink, of NO breakfast in the lobby, so leftovers of Japanese. That kept us going, all the way to Poughkeepsie.

First off, when we arrived last night, the personnel were so friendly and accommodating... Debbie at the front desk and then Val, who was just finishing her shift and she wanted to let Debbie know the status of things before she left for the night. Well, Val came back in when she noticed her license plate was from Pennsylvania and started talking to us about how much she loves the Philadelphia area and she was just so nice pleasant and thoughtful. My husband doesn't usually like chatting to strangers, but he even enjoyed the conversation with Debby and Val! Which says a lot! Our room was remarkable, clean well appointed the shower was perfect. The bathroom supplies were great. The location was fabulous. Nice inconvenient everything about this place really hit the mark! Even the coffee station in the morning was fully stocked and had real creamer! And I can't leave out the fact that we had our dog with us. Yes, Hampton Inn allows dogs, which was a real bonus on this trip because our four legged family member is traveling with us. Five stars!

Built in 1830 in the town that gave rise to the Civil War, this charming B&B, a stop on the Underground Railroad, is a virtual museum of mid-18th century and Victorian American History! (And this place is supposedly haunted by a previous owner!). The current owners Joe and Susan are a wealth of knowledge of the history on the house and the area! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to adults and teens (with adults) of any age! (There are too many antiques around for tiny hands to touch.) Hallauer House is just 4 miles from the heart of Oberlin, but trust me, it will be worth the drive to this gem on the Underground Railroad if you are looking for peace and quiet, an exquisite 5-Star gourmet breakfast, a spa package, a workout room, if you so choose, and delightful hosts who work very hard to make their guests feel warmly welcomed. Considering all the amenities provided by Joe and Susan, I don't think any other area lodging facility could even begin to compare!

The hosts, Susan and Joe, are happy to acquaint you with myriad antiques and artifacts they've collected throughout the years. The house is quite old - 100+ years. Of special note are the leftover markings and trap door from the underground railroad which used to run through the house in the 1800's. I would highly recommend booking with the Hallauer House as far in advance as you can. They get booked up quickly AND there isn't a better place to stay in Oberlin!

My son and I needed to arrive at Oberlin College by 11:00 Monday, so staying overnight in nearby Lorain, OH at this beautiful hotel was the perfect solution. The hotel's restaurant is always closed Sunday-Monday, so we didn't get to try that, but we were able to find take-out from a restaurant in Amherst, and eat in our room. We were really surprised to learn that only two families were staying at the hotel the night we stayed! We got a great deal on Expedia for a queen double room. About $112 in total, and parking was free. Free Wifi. Super clean facility. Beds were so comfortable and the shower was awesome. I loved all the cute vintage features, like the mail shoot by the elevator. No swimming inpool yet, due to COVID of course, but perhaps we will enjoy a swim on our next visit. We will definitely stay here next time we are visiting Oberlin, which is about a 25 minute drive from Lorain. Thank you to Sabrina and the other hotel staff for being so welcoming and for providing my son and I with such a wonderful and relaxing stay! Updated: we stayed here for Oberlin College graduation weekend and had a solid stay although it was rowdier at night during the weekend when a wedding was happening. Room was clean, beds were ok. Free parking. Limited staff around, and no room cleaning during our stay, but when we called for room towels we received them. Pool was nice but the area around the pool, bathroom, sauna (closed) and exercise room could use some attention and updating.
