This is a very convenient location right off the Ohio Turnpike. Got a king suite, and room was clean and comfortable. Nice (small) pool and workout room. Breakfast in the morning was hot and the eating area was clean. Only ding was that the elevator was out- they had signs in the hotel but this really should be something they update immediately on the website so people can make an informed choice before booking. read more

Completely forgot to review this hotel, came here about 3 weeks ago while driving from Cleveland, decent little place truthfully. Staff was nice friendly and courteous. The room I received was huge, definitely didn't feel tight or stuff at all. Furniture did look a bit worn out but I did respect the aesthetics housekeeping put into the rooms. There's no, office area or to buy necessities you forgot to pack. There's no food pantry but they do have a vending machine. Worst part about my experience was the breakfast provided, completely underwhelmed. I really did enjoy the front lobby as a plus, felt very welcoming especially since by the entry way. read more

Just arrived after a 5 hour haul northeast. I just can't believe the traffic! Who are all these people and why are they all going the same direction? That's what I want to know. Luckily, the staff here was friendly and welcoming when I arrived, and I got a room right away. The young woman I spoke with looked just like my niece who's in college, but I didn't say anything. Right now I'm lying down, counting my blessings after a safe trip. I've always believed that it's important to look on the bright side. It's a little hot out there for my taste, but the AC is whirring away in here and if I hadn't just been outside I'd never know the difference. I guess sometimes ignorance is bliss. Normally, I don't shower in the afternoon, but today I might make an exception. read more

Right now, as I do my review, I can't find anything negative, so for now I'm giving them 5 stars: Good Customer Service, bathrooms upgraded, clean, temps set to just fine, & plenty of parking (back OK, too, since we lost our front space when we took off for dinner), and easy access from the back (yes, someone left the back door open for us, can they do that)? ANYONE could have come in, without a key! One negative: the bathroom door! It won't remain open, no matter what, unless I put a trash can to hold the door there, otherwise, it keeps closing and I can't see the mirror across the hall/wall from the bathroom when I'm getting dressed! Great place to stay! The building is clean, and homey, and there was a fire going in the lobby when we arrived. Lance checked us in and was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The room was very nice. I appreciated that they donate their leftover bath products to the less fortunate, and that they had a makeup wipe included with the shampoo conditioner, and lotion (finally!). The continental breakfast was decent and included eggs, sausage, fried potatoes, cereal, waffles, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, and more. Overall, a very nice place to stay, and we'll definitely be back since we regularly have to go through this town on our way to visit family on the coast. read more

This hotel is pleasantly average. Nothing sets it apart, either good or bad. (Although I must say the afternoon desk clerk who checked me in is a charmer.) The decor is inoffensive, if a bit frayed. Does Country Inn & Suites have a scam going on? We made a reservation to arrive in Elyria, Ohio Friday evening (10/9/15) and departing today. She reserved on the Country Inn & Suites website, not a third-party site. When we showed up at the Country Inn & Suites at 645 Griswold Rd., Elyria, a little before 4 PM, they said there was no reservation for us. I said "that's impossible," but even when the guy who I assumed was the manager came over and looked, both he and the clerk said they had nothing for us. So we found another place to stay for the past two nights. Tonight, when returning home, we discovered that they had charged us the full amount on the date of the reservation. When I called to complain at 7:03 PM this evening, the manager said "we would not have turned anyone away Friday night." He continually insisted that I was never there. I even went to Google Earth to confirm that we were at the right place. Obviously, I'm pretty irate because they in fact did turn me away. He originally said they'd look at the video and see if they saw me... as if I'm lying or something. The manager called back at 7:19 PM and refused to do anything else unless I could give a description of the clerk and manager on duty... height, weight, hair color, shirt color. During this call, he refused to even look at their security video. He called back at 7:42 PM and said that his people had looked at the video between the hours of 3:30 and 5:00 and that nobody was on there except their shuttle drivers. It didn't occur to me then, but that means they had no more than about 20 minutes to watch 90 minutes of video. But although I described myself thoroughly and told him to Google me (my head shot is widely available online) he never indicated that they did. I was scratching my head, trying to figure out how this could be an honest mistake, so I went back and reconstructed the timeline of what happened Friday afternoon. Our flight (DL 2528) arrived early at 2:28 PM into CLE. By the time we deplaned, caught the shuttle, stood in line and rented our car at Dollar, it was 3:08 PM. I took the long way (I-480) since I hadn't gotten the toll road add-on, so it was probably 3:45 before I arrived at Country Inn & Suites. So I called back at 8:16 PM, as I had originally told him that we probably arrived around 4:20. But he stuck to his story, and even refused several requests to give me his name. Is it possible they could be running a scam where they precharge for reservations, then turn people away, then assume they won't pursue it? I can't think of another explanation right now. We're disputing it with our credit card company, of course, but because this stinks so much like a fraud operation, I thought others might want to know. read more

My stay at the Country Inn Suites was awful. I booked 2 rooms through Hotwire. One of my rooms was for my son, his wife and their baby. As he was walking around the room, he noticed his socks were completely covered in pet hair. How disgusting!!! My granddaughter is only 7 weeks and for her to be a room that was once occupied by a pet could have caused respiratory problems with all the pet hair that was covering the floor. It was disgusting. This room was not cleaned nor was it sanitary. We spoke with the general manager this morning. Mandy Calvert said she would reach out to Hotwire in regards to refunding our money for one of the rooms. She emailed me and said I should receive an email from Hotwire and as of Today-Day 3, I have not heard from them. She had such a nonchalant attitude about the matter. This was my 1st and last time that I will stay at a Country Inn & Suites. read more

Lance and Brittany were great hosts! They made sure our visit was as comfortable and welcoming as possible. I just felt the rooms could smell a little better. We had a non-smoking room and it smelled of cigarette smoke. We didn't really mind it and it wasn't worth complaining to the staff. I'm sure they would've moved us if we did. The pool was ok but, kind of cloudy and chemical heavy. We really enjoyed the hot tub though. The rooms are super roomy and perfect for a weekend visit. Also, it was the perfect location for us to visit both cedar point and Cleveland night life. read more

This hotel had a 3 star rating. Compared to other 3 star hotels we recently stayed at, we considered this hotel a 2 star hotel. It had none of the little extras. There was no thermostat in the room and the fan on the heating/cooling unit was noisy. Carpet in the elevator looked dirty. The hotel did not meet our expectations for good covid practices. No notice on the doors indicating the cleaning had been done to covid standards. We needed plastic silverware because the nearby restaurant we got a carry out from did not provide silverware or napkins. The hotel had silverware but it was in a container from which we had to pick out a utensil. The same container was used at their scaled down breakfast. Definitely not up to best practices for preventing infection. The scaled down breakfast was the poorest we have seen during the covid crisis. The hotel was not horrible but not a 3 star place in our opinions. read more

I needed to change a reservation due to booking the wrong night (Fri vs Sat) and this hotel was completely inflexible, a sign of a hotel that doesn't care about their customers. If service were first and foremost with the hotel employees, they would have easily accommodated me in this situation. Instead they decided to adhere to hold firm and charge me for a nights stay . Expedia (the 3rd party booking service) was willing to allow the change but the hotel stood firmly on their policy and yes, the hotel had open rooms. I like to give this hotel more stars but it is hard to do so on one account. First the good stuff well arrived at 10:30PM the front counter and lobby was clean and nice. The front desk person was very nice and quick only took a few mins to check in. The room was clean and had no sign of bad upkeep or lazy cleaners. However, i had the worst night sleep ever. The bed was just out right sucked. If I wanted to sleep on a cheap mattress I would have spent half as much money and stayed at a super 8 or motel 6. For the amount I spent on this room I would have expected a much better mattress. Pillow top or something not the rock hard one we got. read more

I had a mixed first impression, but was pleased once I got settled. When I first arrived, no one was manning the desk. After about 5 minutes, someone showed up and apologized that his desk girl had wandered off, so he upgraded my room to a jacuzzi room for no additional charge. When I got to the room, even though it was non-smoking, it wreaked of stale old smoke smell. Also, there was a constant dripping of water outside the window. It hadn't been raining, and clearly was condensation from the AC unit upstairs. Then, I turned on the AC, and it screeched loudly. I requested a change of room, and they had one more with the same amenities. This one was much better. It smelled better, no stray noises, and the AC worked. The only problems were that the shower-tub drained slowly, and the desk chair wouldn't raise, so it was low to the floor. Otherwise, the hotel is quite nice. The rooms were clean, had nice amenities including a microwave and mini-fridge, and plenty of room. The breakfast was good too. So even though it was a rough start, I still give it 4 stars. read more

Everything you would expect in a hotel you get. Complementary continental breakfast, comfy beds, nice bathroom, T.V....etc... Employees were helpful and polite. Also, hotel is close to a number of restaurants and a Target, so finding a place for dinner isn't a problem. read more

I stayed here while on a business trip that brought me to Elyria. I found the location to be convenient and the staff to be exceptional! The free breakfast was excellent, and not as limiting as I am used to in some other hotels. I was in a King suite and was surprised with the amount of space in the room. The bathroom was a standard size. There was a sitting area with a spacious desk, a couch, and an armchair. The bed space was nice with a very small dresser and a bench. My only criticism is that the bed was extremely uncomfortable. I had trouble sleeping on such a lumpy, uncomfortable, squeaky bed, and the pillows were so flat I needed three to get the support I needed. Also the carpeting in the hallway was not pulled flat and I tripped a few times on the lumps. Overall a fine experience. read more

UPDATE: After all the rudeness and accusations, the business did not even challenge my credit card dispute and I was refunded. Clearly these accusations were fabricated. I must preface this by saying my stay was fine, the room was clean and most of the staff was very nice. However, after leaving I was notified that they charged my account a 250 dollar cleaning fee because "someone was clearly smoking marijuana". I called to dispute it and spoke to Jules, who was very rude and claimed she was a manager. When I called corporate, they told me she was not the manager and there would be an investigation into my dispute. I called back to speak to the real manager (corporate said it was a Mr. Patel) and again spoke to Jules, who said that the charge was final and refused to go into specifics about who smelled the odor and when. Long story short Radisson customer support told me they would not get involved in a dispute and that I would have to deal with the individual hotel owner or dispute the charge with my credit card company. Because Jules was uncooperative, I disputed the charge with my credit card company and was able to have it taken off, but only after incurring a $250 charge and approximately 4 hours of phone calls. If you stay here you may be accused of committing a crime and you will have no recourse to dispute that accusation short of going to your credit card company. Capital one checked surveillance footage which showed my wife going outside three times to smoke a CIGARRETTE over the course of the night, and she had multiple conversations with the receptionist. Most likely a housekeeper had drugs in the room and tried to blame it on the previous renter. I am an attorney and my wife is a RN, and we take these accusations very seriously. I can't believe how Jules so callously accused us of committing crimes and how incredibly uncooperative she was in helping me resolve the issue read more

I was enroute to Wiconsin from Maryland on August 1, 2019. While stopping briefly for lunch I began a search using my IPhone for a hotel to stay in that night somewhere along our route in central Ohio. I went to the Hotel Tonight website and requested a room, specifying location and date. Of course I indicated that day specifically - August 1. The website suggested Country Inn and Suites in Elyria OH. As I was familiar with your chain I selected this option. It took me to the Priceline website where I completed the booking. Let me add that the Internet connection was spotty and I was experiencing a number of connectivity issues. I was relieved when I was finally able to secure a room from Priceline as many places were showing no vacancy. At 9 PM that evening we arrived at the Elyria Country Inn and Suites. When I asked to check in I was shocked to be told by the clerk that my reservation is for August 18 not August 1! At no point did I EVER enter anything online about August 18. The clerk was very nice and explained to me that she could not cancel the room for August 18 and refund the price I paid for the room, saying that this must be done through Priceline. Fortunately Country Inn & Suites did have a room available for us for that night so we checked into the hotel. The clerk advised me that because it was within 24 hours Priceline should refund the cost of the erroneous booking and that the hotel would confirm that we did actually rent a room for that night, August 1. I immediately called Priceline that night and explained everything. They told me that that yes, I could get a refund if they could confirm with the hotel that I actually did stay there on Aug 1. I was put on hold while Priceline called the hotel. When they came back to speak to me they stated that they had spoken to the same clerk who checked us in and that she had confirmed that we did pay for a room that night. But apparently because she was only a clerk and not the manager she did not have the authority to agree to the refund for August 18. Priceline then assured me they would call the hotel back the next day (Aug 2) to speak to the manager for this approval and take care of the cancellation and refund for August 18. Upon my return to Wisconsin on August 3rd I checked the Priceline website and found that my erroneous reservation at Country Inn & Suites for August 18 had NOT been cancelled or refunded. I called Priceline and was told that the manager of the hotel would not approve the refund!! Thinking this was some kind of misunderstanding, I called the hotel and asked to speak to the manager, whose name was Jewel (not sure of the spelling). She told me that it is the policy of the hotel not to ever allow any changes or refunds for bookings made through a third party. I insisted that she permit the refund. She took my phone number and said that she would call "corporate" to discuss and would then call me back. Eventually Jewel called back with a long-winded exposition that basically said again that it is not the policy of the hotel group to authorize refunds on third party reservations blah blah blah. This in spite of the circumstances and that I had actually paid for a room for the night of August 1. It makes no sense to me at all that Country Inn and Suites would take this position. read more

The customer service at this hotel was beyond my expectations! From the front desk -Jason was outstanding- to housekeeping staff to the breakfast staff, all know how to treat a customer. We did not take advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub but observed others enjoying them. The hotel lobby is warm and welcoming and morning breakfast was very nice.
