Wonderful fresh seafood, fab dressed crab and my favourite, oysters. This is where I gain, my partner hates oysters. All went down too well with a pint, or two. Scotch Eggs were done perfectly, cooked outside and still semi-cooked egg-yolk. Good slices of Pork Pie and perfectly crunchy Pork Crackling (a steal for 1.95£). A really good lunch with nice views. So good, we came back for dinner. Then we had the salmon with potatoes and sides and Bangers & Mash. Fish was fresh and good sized. Bangers were of really good quality, not the regular store-bought bangers. Good mash too. Some Cider and beer with. We really had a good time here and two very good meals. The lamb for two people is really delicious, but my favourite dish is the flat iron steak, which comes with triple cooked chips, homemade tomato ketchup and mushroom ketchup. The mushroom ketchup is insanely good, and it's really nice with the steak! The prices are not cheap, but it's definitely worth it as the food is superb.

They have a sign outside welcoming dog walkers to stop in with Fido. My wife and I started off on a pub crawl to celebrate our arrival in a sunny beachside Broadstairs, where Dicken's Bleak House is located. The rest of England was under the clouds and rain of a cold midsummer storm... Broadstairs has a lot of bars, pubs and restaurants. The Dolphin seems to have its share of the local business, so we gave it a try. The barmaid was pretty busy, so I chatted with a couple of the locals while I waited. They were pretty interested in what part of the States I came from, and regaled me with a few homes and memories (one was old enough to remember the Tanks he met during the war!). I was asking them if any of the beers taps were for a local brew. They didn't think so, but the barmaid pointed to a hand marked tap and said it was very local. Had a pint of "#7" and enjoyed it. Too bad the Brits aren't into ice cold beer, but it was tasty even just cool.
