I've been a fan of Synergy for a couple of years. Found out about Synergy inside a Whole Foods grocery store. As soon as I got home, I went onto their website to discover they are located in Santa Cruz! I live about an hour away from there. They used to have an outlet shop in Soquel, which closed, that place was AWESOME! Their current warehouse in Santa Cruz is close to Natural Bridges State Park. It has a cute little shop in the front of the blue building. If you are on their mailing list, which I highly recommend. You'll be on the know of their online sales, and tent sales. I'm slowly adding more items to my wardrobe and so happy to own environmentally sound clothing. read more

Beyond fed up with WVN. While they make beautiful clothing, at this rate I refuse to ever purchase from them again and would caution others that unless you are certain you will not need an exchange or refund, do not purchase from this Merchant. I've placed 2 orders. Both times the sizing is so far off (normally wear a Small and seem to need L in this brand). I submitted exchange requests for both orders at different times. When submitting the exchange request it generates a message saying, approved and a return shipping label will be sent to you shortly. On the first one on 11/8, no label ever came, no email, no exchange product. I gave it several days before I started follow up via email and phone. Nobody answers emails, the phone, ever. Even after leaving voicemails. I finally resorted to leaving a comment on an Instagram post asking when I will get the return shipping label and the exchange product and low and behold someone named Jessyca finally emailed me back with a label, appologizing for being "out of the office". It is now 11/17 and I still have not received the exchange product (paid for and old one sent back). I also had to submit another exchange because a 2nd order I had placed in the meantime, both items were also far too small. This was done about 4-5 days ago. Again no return shipping label anywhere to be seen. And no update on when i will get my exchanges. I have emailed, I have called. Numerous times. I am ready to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and dispute the charges with my credit card company. Incredibly frustrating. read more

Update: I increased my rating to 3 stars. Recently I dealt with a _different_ clothing company that was incredibly slow & dishonest in processing a return and refund. By comparison, Synergy Organic's customer service stands out as being good, from my past purchases, anyway. Though my original feedback still stands, I always did appreciate their responsive customer service. ............. I admire the fact that Synergy Organic is a fair-trade company, but they seem to be getting further away from the "organic" part that literally is in their name. Also, their style and some policies have changed for the worse. Synergy used to make so many of their clothes out of ~100% organic cotton. Their fabric was good quality too: soft and durable--not easily linty. But the last couple years, more and more of their fabrics have been mixed with large amounts of polyester or spandex. Even if the polyester is from recycled water bottles, it's still non-biodegradable and synthetic. Phasing out purely organic cotton fabric has been an unfortunate trend I've noticed amongst this and several other "eco-friendly" brands. It also shows disregard for customers who have skin disorders & need fully nontoxic fabrics. As for durability, in my last order, the fabric deteriorated quickly and was thin. They also have sharply reduced their offering of clothes with hand-stitched details. The embroidery and appliqués were not always well done (sometimes irregular or not well designed), but what it's been replaced by is a generic style...that fails to differentiate this brand from competitors. They're now heavy on kitschy screenprints of yoga-centric or other trendy images. Or they have little to no embellishments. Others have spoken about the unreliability of their sizing charts. I agree that at some pt. the fit became much larger. At least their customer service reps have been friendly when I've asked for sizing clarification. Then today I discovered another unfortunate change. Their website currently states they only accept returns on items purchased at full price. Given the unreliable fit & quality of their clothes, this extra restriction does not inspire confidence. I think this brand has a lot of potential to improve their styles and source good-quality fabrics again. I wish them luck in improving. But as it stands now, I won't be shopping there again. read more

Ugh. Was drawn to Synergy's booth this weekend at a trade show. Thought it was great that they had organic stuff, and were one of the few companies at this show carrying it. I asked a super nice associate if I could try something on. The owner came over, and immediately started grilling me about why I was there. At a trade show! When I'm a potential customer! He asked to see my badge. I think that he thought I was snooping on his "designs." It was such a turnoff, and he was so unprofessional that it prompted me to write my first Yelp review ever. So if you see Synergy's owner, steer clear. Sounds like the help is better at valuing the importance of customer service. The clothes are OK if you like earthy colors. They pretty much fulfill the standards of the stereotypical customer that would wear organic, which is another shame. read more

What do you know, hemp can be sexy. A clothing store with the word "organic" in its name may conjure up images of granola girl wearing a sack but this place will surprise you. Despite it's name, Synergy offers ... dare I risk offending the tree hugging crowd.... TRENDY, FASHION FORWARD, FORM FITTING (FLATTERING) clothing. No baggy sacks sold here. Check out that assymetrical spaghetti strap dress and the goucho pants with the dual v neck slimming top. Their dress inventory is worth a stop. The sales girl today went out of her way to find a top not in the main floor because she had a hunch it would look good on me. She was right. The outfit was soooo chic and casual at the same time, exactly my personality I think :-) Prices are very reasonable for the quality and comfort of the fabric. My organic (what does that mean anyway) goucho and hemp cost less than $60 after the storewide 25%. Call and check for sales. I'm definitely a new fan of this eco-fashion find. read more

I got my pair of leggings online but omg, I ordered a small since their measurements online were the right ones but they were very big when they came so I exchanged them with an xs, obviously I had to pay for shipping, the xs were exactly the same if not even bigger than the small I ordered the 1st time, jesus, so long and stretchy but definitely not a xs, too bad cause I was excited with the company but not anymore, I didn't send them back anymore cause paying for shipping always I would of ended up paying for a pair of pants and not have any, terrible. read more

I absolutely love WVN! Pretty much everything I own is from them. It is hard to find a company with such good ethics as this company. They are GOTS certified which is an extra level of sustainable high quality standards. The owners are great and are very integral. I've only seen happy employees there who seem to be like family and stay years with the company. The customer service is amazing. They are always there to help with anything and have great style tips. The clothes are super stylish, and they have a great selection that changes per season. Their styles are timeless. I have clothes that I purchased 15 years ago that I still wear and still get comments on. Plus the quality is unbeatable. Everything that I have bought from 15 years ago till present still looks great! I have never gotten any holes in these pants or clothes and I can't say that for other clothing companies. Now that they have switched from Synergy to WVN, the quality has only increased. The cotton is extremely soft and comfortable, the styles and workmanship are more detailed, and the block print fabric is beautiful! I've never written a yelp review before, but I have really wanted to express my appreciation for this company for a while, and they deserve much more praise. WVN is an amazing mom and pop business. You will even likely meet the designer and owners if you go to their store. It is so important to support small and environmentally integral businesses in this time. Synergy is one of my all time favorite clothing brands. When my boyfriend and I got the chance to visit the retail store while on vacation in CA in May, I was thrilled! Bought two Synergy dresses a few days ago after trying on at least ten! Talk about conundrums with regard to final purchases, fortunately Synergy has a hold policy;) Love the Peacock one shoulder, it is Beautiful (so are the matching panties!) sexy-yet-feminine designs and colors! All clothing 100% organic cotton that feels like air on the skin. As mentioned in previous reviews, the people at Synergy are very helpful and suggest ideas. Having known Oona since we were 6 years old, I can say that she comes by her flair for fashion and style naturally and she has ALWAYS had it! I have not been so lucky though. So, living across the country, I requested her advice when ordering a couple of dresses from Synergy (having never bought anything from them before but noticing them first on ModCloth). She advised me PERFECTLY based on what she knows about me and what I told her about my current physique. I ordered online and the dresses arrived quicker than I expected. I live about an hour away from Santa Cruz and drove all the way to Synergy Clothing in hopes of buying some nice dresses and tops. Got there, tried a few things on. Their sizing runs a little small and their dresses are not meant for girls with an hour-glass shape. I had bought a Yelp deal ($20 for $40) before going to the store. I picked up a dress on sale and one dress on full price. I proceeded to pay for them using my Yelp deal, when I was told that since I was using a Yelp deal, the sale would be final for both dresses. I asked her why that was the case, since this isn't mentioned in the deal at all. In fact, what the deal says is the following: Business Owner: Deal must be honored according to terms on voucher. No additional restrictions may be added at time of redemption. I read this out to the girl working at the store and she explained again that since I was using an Yelp deal, all sales would be final. She explained she couldn't do anything about it, but could call her manager. I asked her to call her manager and find out why they were adding a restriction. The manager asked to enforce the added restriction. I bought the dresses anyway considering I went all that way to buy these dresses. While the girl working at the store was on the phone with the store manager, she told him/her that this new restriction needs to be added to their Yelp deal moving forward. However, my deal did NOT have this restriction at all. On top of that, it took her a long time to process the sale. Not great. read more

Yesterday I stopped by there booth at ACL again and bought another dress. About an hour later while listening to Florence and the Machine my husband looks at me and says where's your wristband. I walked back to Synergy thinking it may have fallen off while I was trying on a dress behind there little shower curtain. . The gals had it waiting for me with a smile. I am in love with the clothing store. Their pieces are so simple! Simple design, but funky cuts! All of their clothes are made in Nepal from organic cotton. So soft, so comfy, it really shouldn't be legal. Each piece is around $50, so it's not super cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have 2 pieces so far and get compliments all the time on them. I first learned about Synergy Organic Clothing at the 2011 Art and Wine Festival in Lafayette, CA. When I approached the booth at the festival I was warmly greeted by the male employee. The little booth was filled to the brim with a great selection of cute dresses, skirts, and tops. The booth also featured several picture of models wearing some of the merchandise (which I really like cause you can never really tell what something is going to look like just on the hangar). Being that it was at a festival there wasn't a changing room BUT they did have a little tent -looking thing that they offered up if I wanted to try anything on. I passed on the changing tent and decided to take my chances of the two dresses I chose to purchase (the slate keyhole dress and the peacock feather meadow dress). An extra special thanks to the associate, who dug through all of his inventory (it was a HUGE bin) just to find me my size in one of the dresses I wanted! Once I got the dresses home I was happy to find that they both fit perfectly! Whenever I wear either of the dress (especially the peacock feather one) I get a ton of compliments. The dresses I purchased are well made, super soft, comfortable and flattering. Since my experience at the Art and Wine Festival, I have ordered merchandise from their website several times. As I never had to return any of the items, I have never had to deal with their customer service office. I can say though I have gotten all of my items in the time period promised and have never had any problems with items I have purchased. I am such a fan I have bought several items for my sister and girlfriends as gifts. Each of them have loved the pieces I gave them (evidenced by wearing their the items to death. like I tend to do) and have become Synergy Organic Clothing fans themselves! After drooling over a dress in the front window for about a week, I decided to pay this store a visit. The young saleswoman greeted me and my preschooler warmly and helped entertain my child while I tried on clothes. The store even has a small selection of toys in one corner to keep kids occupied! (honestly, I wish every retailer had a corner like this). I ended up buying 3 dresses, all of which I absolutely love and fit so nicely. They have super cute, comfortable cloths at what I feel are reasonable prices giving quality. I bought one dress that was $85 and one shirt that was $50, the shirt was 20% off. The sales girls were great, friendly and helpful. The reason I knocked off a star is after I spent $125 on two items they charged me 25 cents for a bag, tacky. I just bought a cute skirt at the soquel location-$20.00 Everything in that store was on sale. I bought a few dresses earlier this year and some of them are on sale right now at this location. The friendly sales assistant said that this store was an outlet. Anyway I love my dresses I got earlier this year and can't wait til I have a little more time to sort thru their clothes and find some more dresses. Their clothes are cute and comfortable. I have been buying Synergy clothing for years & find that it holds up really well. I've only ever shopped at their Outlet store, which is close to my home & SUPER CHEAP, & I have always been super impressed with the things I've bought. I've bought gifts for friends there, too. It's hard to find sustainable, well-made organic clothing this cheap anywhere else, & it's very cute, quality stuff. I salute them for committing to Earth-friendly clothing, & I think that their designs are really cute for the most part. I love that I can shop local, cheap, & sustainable! WOW! shocking how little help the rep was on the phone. I just discovered this brand this weekend and was really excited about a couple of pairs of leggings. I found the sizing chart on the website which is confusing because it says XXS 23-24in and XS 26-27in. I am a 25 so I figured the XS is my size and placed the order for one of the leggings from another store for which I had a %20 off, they don't have the other pair of leggings so I called the contact number to verify the size and honestly to find out if they have any kind of discounts right now, e.g. new customer or something. That was a frustrating call as the person that answered had NO idea of anything. All she kept saying was that the sizing chart on the website was wrong and gave me her best guess at what size I could get, there was a lot of ums and silence from her. I am now kind of nervous about having ordered those leggings, they are really expensive and would hate to end up with something I can't wear. read more

Love this store/site. The clothing is very pretty, flattering, well made, and durable. I ordered a couple dresses online and received an email saying they were not available. I switched my order to two different dresses and received them in a day or two (they must've sped up the shipping.) This is not a big, commercial business. It seems like they are a small, independent, responsible clothing company doing the best they can. I had bought some items a year ago from there website for my wife. The tops I bought eventually got holes even though she hand washed and used a gentle product to clean them. I think it had to do with how thin the cotton was. The skirt and dresses I had bought were thicker and are still doing ok holding up. Forget it if you get any stain on any of their thin cotton pieces. Even if it is organic we can't afford to have clothing fall apart. I spent a lot of money and was so bummed to see them get holes. They should consider making their tops with thicker cotton or incorporating hemp into the mix to make their products more durable. read more

I ordered quite a few items online and was eagerly awaiting their arrival. Their website says that they ship out within 3 business days. Over a week later, my items had not been shipped out. I called their customer service line and the woman on the phone told me that the shipping label had been printed days ago but my package was never shipped. She offered no apology for the mistake.
