First time trying this Chinese place. We have had terrible luck finding decent Chinese food anywhere in Sherwood Newberg areas so on advice from a friend we decided to try this place in Tigard. We were seated right away and had great view of the open kitchen. There was a great selection of dishes to try and we opted for their combo plate. It comes with bbq pork, spring roll, rice and an entree of your choice. I had the almond chicken which was served so fresh and hot! Flavor was good, not greasy or heavy with cornstarch like some places are. Hubby had Mongolian beef and it was really good. Great flavor and the meat was tender. I love getting Wu's take out! It takes at least 20 minutes to bring food to my home from Wu's, but they pack it so tightly and it's always so fresh that it tastes like eating their food at the restaurant! I wish we were closer so that I could enjoy their Kung pao chicken more often! read more

I can't believe I paid 30 dollars to eat stir fry that's not even as good as the kind I make. Ordered the Mala chicken and the string beans and they're flavorless. This is not Sichuanese cooking. It tastes like bad Cantonese style food. For chicken that's supposed to be numbingly spicy, there's no flavor: bland white meat congealed in cornstarch sauce, overcooked snow peas, canned baby corn. Not a single peppercorn, or chili in sight. The string beans, though cooked well, are boring, have no seasoning! Needs more oil and garlic, and someone please introduce these people to a chili pepper. Take out was also packed poorly and the bag leaked so I now have a mess in my car. For 32 years, our Christmas Eve tradition was to go fir Chinese Food. What a disappointment to show up at Wu's fir our snnual dinner, only to find that it was by reservation only. There were onky 3 of us, but they would not budge, even with open tables at the time. What was so exasperating was that we were there for lunch only 5 days earlier and there was no notification on their door that reservations would be required fir Christmas Eve. In trying to.communicate with the owner, safely hidden behind a plastic shield, she appeared to ignore us and would not even look at us in our face while denying us. I really wasn't impressed with the food quality of this place at all. We got the Kung Pao Chicken which didn't taste fresh and looked like it was dumped in sauce from the grocery store. We also tried the Lo Mein noodles with chicken that tasted like they were drenched in soy sauce and the chicken tasted old. I'm usually a big fan of noodles and can't stop eating them but these I didn't even want to touch. The only decent item were the green beans that had lots of minced garlic but overall not bad. We had a great dinner there last night. Our experience with Chinese food in the area has been hit or missed. The pot stickers dough was to thick. The filling wasn't bad. The sesame beef was pretty decent. The chicken lo mein was okay but the noodles were a little over cooked. Service was decent but not award winning. I have never been so rushed in my entire life - I even asked the waitress if we were taking too long. She even started putting my friends lunch in boxes while she was still eating. I pulled another server to the side and asked if the were trying to close up. He said no, why? I don't think we will be back. Food was mediocre at best. Terribly disappointed!!! read more

Came expecting it to be kind of boring based on the Decour, and then my mind was blown by the volcano drink and the taste of the food. Upon walking in, the place is boring. It was drab. Even down right cafeteria like... white eighties wall pepper, dusty rose table clothes and a mirror wall , but the reviews were good, it was cold as a witches you know what outside and I had an appetite of a tiger in a drought. We asked if they had a lounge... no, we were told, a service loung. Good enough, we decided. We sat, it was pleasantly busy and the service was spot on. There was a wall of widows so that you can watch the chef if you want. We ordered a volcano cocktail, cashew chicken, and fried rice. We noticed while ordering that the prices were a bit high for the environment. The waiter made our drink in a bar that was visible. it was AWESOME!!! It tasted great and was flaming in the center. The straws were long enough for two of us to drink at once. The flavor was tropical and you really couldn't taste the alcohol thou it was there. It was delicious and we could feel it. The food came out super fast. It was fantastic. Absolutely wonderful and filling. We ate EVERY SINGLE bite. Well seasoned, perfectly moist. Really good Chinese food. Try it. This place isn't very good. I will finish my meal but not keep leftovers or come back. The texture of the meat is off, the colors of their sauces are different and nothing really won the day. If you are looking for authentic Chinese Szechuan food it's definitely a no or never. All their dishes tasted the same with sweet and sour hint and even looked the same with dark heavy soy sauce color. When I asked why what I ordered was not like what they claimed to be the waiter said that was the way they cooked it. Not very pleasant customer service! I've been coming to Wu's for years...The "Sesame Shrimp" is one of my favorite Asian dishes I've ever had...& i tend to avoid Shrimp because it dosent agree w/my tummy...however Wu's Sesame Shrimp is so clean & tasty that I get it anyway...& to be honest theirs agrees w/me more...prolly because they clean it out & it's fresh. The food is DELICIOUS The prices are FAIR The service is EXCELLENT! The portions are generous! My favorite dish is the General Tso's chicken. It is sweet, well prepared, and goes well with everything. As far as other staples of Westernized Chinese food... The Kung Pao Chicken has the right amount of heat. The BBQ pork is to die for The sweet and sour shrimp is delicious. The fried rice has a great taste to it. The sweet and sour sauce has the right amount of tang to it. Excellent Chinese food. I've had both the cashew chicken and mabo-tofu. Not many places make mabo to my liking but this was A+, so delicious I'm tempted to order it again today.
