Ambiance - beautiful... Very big place, ample of sitting. Food- okay okay- nothing great. Has better food Service- slow even though place was not busy. Did not like staff snacking on things in kitchen They have such a big place and when we ordered food, for 4 dishes we got 2 ladles. they did not even have service spoons/ ladles for the meal. Ordering for the table- use it often fork and cross contamination Staff was not even sorry about that- imagine what will happen if the place is busy??? Server- ask what's good here? they will just ask you in return what do you like? And manipulate their answer accordingly

The place is huge. They have a very very big entrance area that includes the check-in and a lot of waiting area. The decor is very good. I was handed a pager that will prompt me when my table is ready. I was just simply taking pictures of the waiting area by the time the table was ready. We were served with edamame two bowls as a complimentary item, we ordered Sapporo beer and that actually went really good with the edamame. It's funny when we ask for more edamame. They said it is a charge of six dollars which at least they were honest enough upfront that there will be a charge so we ordered one edamame more in food we ordered 1. Vegetable fried rice. 2. Penang curry. 3. Noodles. 4. And spicy tofu. Everything came in big dish plates. Two of them came with a serving spoon and two without when we asked for two serving spoons. They said we don't have more. I thought they are not understanding our question so we asked another server that we need a serving spoon like the other two and they said yes we are out of it on their dirty and we don't have more so apparently we were serving our two items with forks. The food was OK not great. Penang curry was really good. Since everything was served in large dish plates, the food got cold so fast I think having a ball would keep the food warm. They have a lot of hibachi tables. We will probably try hibachi next time as I'm a fan of a very hot food so I will be able to eat something right off the cooking grill We also ordered veggie tempura, which was OK and sweet potato and veggie rolls. The sweet potato rolls were really good.

The place looks amazing - very well decorated. The kung pao chicken was pretty good. The fried rice was dry. We also tried the Sweet Heart roll which sounded good. However it was so soaked in sauce that even after scraping off the sauce you still couldn't taste anything but the sauce

Checked in with my family and as soon as we got their the restaurant had a lot of space and the wait time wasn't bad. Thank goodness for reserving. We experienced the sit down and not the hibachi and must say decent experience. Had their oreo creme brulee bubble tea, spicy salmon roll, and godzilla roll and it was decent portions and delicious. The atmosphere was modern to asian and love ghe separation with the oriental style walls and bonzai and cherry blossom trees. Service is as expected and could've been more better especially as it got busier. Waited a few minutes to get drinks, chopstick helpers. Gave us dipping cups and not dipping trays for the sushi.

We were excited to hear about a new restaurant opening in the area. We decided to check it out on Friday during their opening week. We were surprised to see that it's in a standalone building, and the interior is huge - one side with hibachi grills, middle has a sushi bar, and another side is a dining room. The ambiance of the place is quite lively. We checked in with the hostess as we called earlier to make a reservation for a group of 5 people. We were shown to a booth. Upon checking out the menu, there were more than hibachi and sushi, there were menu for Asian fusion dishes. Because we have a kid at the table, we ordered King Crab Rangoon. Main course, we ordered Pad See Ew, Pineapple Chicken, and Thai Basil Shrimp. One of the adults has Gluten allergy, and the server mentioned that Hibachi menu or Sushi can accommodate modification, so a hibachi option of Fillet Mignon and Lobster with fried rice was also ordered. Here's my summary in the dining room section only during their opening week. We didn't experience the hibachi side. 1) Overall food - average. - Crab Rangoon: the kid at the table rejected it after first bite and after checking the interior of the wrapper wasn't cooked thoroughly so it appeared undercooked. We did send back. Instead, we replaced it with Gyoza. - Hibachi dish: Lobster was slightly overcooked, the fillet wasn't a good quality, and the fried rice was too buttery. - Pineapple chicken: good. There was no thick batter, instead it was a very light coating. - Thai Basil Shrimp; This is flavorful. Shrimp was cooked just right. - Pad See Ew: good. The noodle might be slightly overcooked as it was softer than other pad see ew I had. 2) Service was good. Our server was attentive. 3) Ambiance of the restaurant was very lively. We could hear some drumming from the other side of the room, assuming there was some sort of entertainment. I hope overtime, it will work out some of the quality issues.

    Pangang Curry/Vegetable

4 of us. We sat in the dining room. The NOISE from the Hibachi side, the DRUMMING was RIDICULOUS! The coconut shrimp appetizer was TERRIBLE. It was mostly breadcrumbs and very little coconut, the texture was BAD, no flavor but that was okay, because we couldn't get past the texture.. The vegetable egg roll was good. The Pangang curry was AWEFUL! Sauce was overly cornstarch thick and hardly resembled a flavor of curry. The chicken Pad Thai was a weird sour flavor with weird sweetness. Not good! Service was below average but the food is worse. They add 18% gratuity so service doesn't *have* to be good. We came, we saw, we tried it. Zero reason to return.

    Great presentation and delicious!

Outstanding experience, amazing food and the people are so great! We loved the design of restaurant, the cherry blossoms trees made you feel like you are in Japan. The food was truly exceptional!!!! And the hibachi experience is the best experience we had at any other restaurant!!! Highly recommend this restaurant. We went there on Sunday after Valentines Day so it was less crowded which made our experience even better. Must try this place. And don't go alone!

Alright! We went back for the second time, and it just gets better and better! This time I had a peartini then a lychee martini both freaking amazing. We had pad see eiw and because my husband does not like very sweet foods. We asked them to omit the sweet, soy sauce and it came made perfectly! All of the sushi is incredible! We had a variety so whatever you love usually, go with it!

This is the sign they expect you to see as you walk in. 18% service charge added to your ticket.

The sweet potato sushi and soup was amazing. After tipping our hibachi cook $30 cash, we received the bill with "18% service charge" We spoke to three different representatives at the restaurant to discuss the options as we didn't feel double dipping was appropriate. The restaurant staff solution was to take the cash back from the cook. We ended up paying the full amount as they would not remove it. We won't be back. If you look at the previous picture, I posted it doesn't say 18% gratuity. It says 18% service charge. No thank you feels like a sucker punch. The owners need to rethink their greedy business model.

I was surprised to learn this is a small chain only with a couple locations in Illinois and the rest in California, which just gives it more credibility to me. Just a heads up that this place is pretty small, so you might run into a wait. But, they do have Yelp waitlist, so be sure to take advantage if you're coming by. While the waits can get long, once you're actually seated service is great and prompt. You won't be waiting long for your food, and if you get a counter seat you can see it being prepared which is fun. So far I've had the spicy tan tan ramen and the miso ramen. You get a generous amount of noodles, the meat is super tender, and the broth is the perfect cure for cold weather or a rough hangover. They have a kids meal option too, but they also have small chicken or pork and rice bowls that are perfect for our toddler. We'll definitely come back, I'm very curious how their curry dish is.

And it's clearly popular. I met a friend at opening time and there was plenty of seating, but within 20 minutes or so, the place was filling up. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen with a seasoned egg topping. The broth was rich and delicious, the pork and noodles tender, the scallions crunchy, and the red ginger gave just the right kick. The egg was cooked perfectly, jammy and seasoned beautifully. Hot green tea topped off the experience on a very cold morning. So many other things on the menu I wanted to try, but that completely filled me up.

I believe we ate lunch on a weekday. The service was ok, a few of the items we wanted to order were not available. Their sushi chef was not there that day, so no sushi was available to order, along with one or two other entrees we wanted to order. The food was average, nothing that stood out as great or exceptionally bad. The one thing I remembered thinking positively was the curry chicken rice plate. The curry sauce was good. The chicken wasn't the traditional breaded chicken cutlet, rather pieces of chicken karage, which was good. Not sure how I feel about Chicago Ramen in Wheeling after my most recent experience…read more.. Since my kids had a lot of afternoon activities again and I didn't feel like cooking I decided to get carry out from Chicago Ramen. I placed an order for two Chicken Ramen with an egg. I showed up about 10 minutes later and they were already packing my order. I've always been impressed with how quickly they get the orders ready, but I guess everything is already premade which makes it easier. I ended up adding a wonton soap for one of my daughters since she just burnt her fish sticks at home and needed a back up. As I was waiting for my food I glanced at the chef and noticed that while he was packing our ramen he was NOT wearing any gloves and added the eggs with his bare hands!! I found it shocking and disturbing... Everything was packed well, and as I got home and got our ramen and wonton soup ready for dinner, I realized that instead of the wonton soup, they ended up giving me shrimp broth without any dumplings. I gave them a call and they apologized and offered a refund. I guess it wasn't meant for my daughter to have dinner that night... My husband and I did enjoy our chicken ramen...but I skipped my egg. We both woke up this morning super swollen and realized there was a ton of salt in the food. I'm not sure I will be back and might need to explore some other ramen places in the area. * Easy street parking right out front. * 2 Chicken ramen with an egg $37

However, it has been our go-to place for ramen takeout for some time now, this review is focused on their takeout ramen. After about two years' time, we have narrowed our preferences to the Red Miso Ramen with Egg and the White Miso Ramen with Egg. Both ramen comes with a big piece of Cha-Shu (pork), bamboo shoot, and green onion. The Cha-Shu is very tender and flavorful, and the egg cooked just right. The ramen noodles are bouncy with the right texture. When it comes to broth, the White Miso Ramen is definitely a winner over the Red Miso. I found the broth of the Red Miso a little too thick and there is a taste that makes it less pleasant than the other. There is ground pork in the broth of the White Miso, which adds flavor and complexity to the texture. Portions used to be very big, and I used to have leftovers. However, recently portions have shrunk and I could finish the entire bowl of White Miso Ramen with Egg in one meal with no problems. It would not be enough to feed someone with a bigger appetite than me. They had made a couple of mistakes in our takeout orders a year ago. Since then, they have been accurate with the orders and timing has also improved. I am pleased to have Chicago Ramen in our neighbor town, and a bowl of tasty ramen is so close by. I just saw that they have added Shrimp Wonton Ramen (and two other items) to their menu recently. Next time I might give that a try.
