I think it's a best Japanese spot I ever tried in USA. If it's lacking anything- meat from Japan??? Very tasty. Very rich. Big portions. Makes you feel warm in cold days

I went to Misoya during their opening month and came back for a quick dinner with friends. The ramen is pretty filling and heavy, so it makes for a great meal if you're starving! For me, I am fighting for my life to get through these delicious bowls. As far as ramen places, I think it's pretty solid! The cha-shu gets a nice char on it and has a good flavor. The only thing I have about my bowl is the fried tofu. The actual coating oil the tofu got soaked pretty fast and started falling off very quickly. Can't say if you can fry some tofu that is resistant to sitting in soup, but I would rather have regular tofu at that point. Still a solid ramen place!

This food is incredible every time! Highly recommend the potato croquettes. It's awesome that they have a whole vegetarian menu!

Ordered carry out. 2 ramens and a half order of nooses with broth. Good thing we checked the bag before leaving the parking lot, because the broth for the noodles wasn't put in. Walked back in and showed the receipt and were given the broth. The dining room was full with people waiting in the entry hall. Looked like the entire kitchen was being manned by one overworked chef. The ramen was really tasty- very large portion of noodles and toppings. The pork chashu was tender and smoky. Really enjoyed the

My Ramen Misoya visit can only be described as a roller coaster experience. Two of my absolutely favorite food items in one sitting: fried chicken(karaage) and Ramen. Two things that I've probably consumed more in the past 10 years than most people in a lifetime. This was a chance I couldn't pass up. But seldom do I experience such disappointment, yet such euphoria in the same meal. Karaage: boy oh boy. Not only is this the best karaage, but this might be top 5 best chicken anything I've had ever. It's that good. Tender juicy chicken thighs(a chicken breast can only dream to be this juicy)....and that coating? The airy crispy batter is everything. As im eating, I'm sad that it will soon have to end. It's that good!! Cha su ramen: ok guys, I'm going to be honest. This just isnt it. First of all, how busy can a single bowl be? There's are actually so many ingredients, that it actually makes it hard to eat without the bowl being larger. But quantity does not equal quality. I'll admit the noodles are nicely chewy and the egg is immaculate. The perfect gooey ramen egg. That's where it ends. The chasu itself is way over grilled and has crossed over to the thick and tough to chew category. The ratio of cabbage is off. The potato wedge is unnecessary adds nothing. But the broth is the most flagrant offense here. Where's the rich flavor? Where's that umami? There are simply too many technical flaws to overlook. The karaage is worth the trip 10 times over. I came for the ramen, but if I left without experiencing the chicken karaage, there would have been a void left in my soul!

I've been here twice now and the food is really good. Ramen was simply amazing. The first time I came here had a little bit of a wait to get a Ramen but this time it arrived really quick. It's super delicious. It's very filling and bursting with flavors. I wish they had more broth options. They offer all the ramen with pork broth and they have a couple of vegetarian options. Hope they introduce beef and chicken broth too. Overall , I had a good experience. I would definitely be back again.

The ramen is really good, but my friend and i both agree their spicy is not spicy enough for us. the reason for the low score is because the place was swamped with people and to go orders and they were way hehind, i felt sorry for the people who were their on the lunch break. Still going strong :) I remember when they first opened in the area I recommend the chicken karaage, fried battered chicken pieces, to start off. Then a big bowl of any (all?) of the noodles with soup.

Got the Hokkaido Cha-Shu Ramen for $18.80 and small order of Karrage. I'm not a miso flavored fan, but definitely enjoyed their version without any reservation. The service was awesome, food came out quickly and water was filled without asking for more water. They have bar seating that goes around the kitchen and tables on the opposite side. I got here before 5 and it wasn't busy but the place got packed little after 5pm, so I would recommend you go before dinner rush.

When Ramen Misoya first opened, tables were at a premium, and there's a good reason for that: this suburbs spot truly hits the right notes for a simple ramen concept that gets the basics right. Try the chicken karaage for a treat. 90% of the time, it comes out perfect, and 100% of the time you'll probably find it superior to what you're used to.

There was a reason I didn't come back after so many years. My sister had never been here and wanted to meet up with a friend. I thought I would give it another shot, but I was less than satisfied. Aside from the portions and service being good, the ramen broth is sub par. Cute ramen shop, but the space is small that it can feel congested. It was fun to be seated up at the ramen bar though. Apps: Karaage chicken could use much more flavor. Even after I asked for extra lemon to squeeze on top. Shrimp tempura was really greasy. Dumpling wonton texture was good, but I'm not a fan of chives, and it was too much. Corn croquette was decent and fell apart after the first bite. But with all the apps, there was a generic sauce for each one, except the dumplings. The sauce was just missing a component. Ramen: We ordered 3 different ramen. Tokyo cha-shu, ISE cha-shu, and Tonkotsu spicy. It was so, so salty with no rich pork flavor or umami to balance the taste. It was disappointing to say the least. Our friend did not finish her spicy tonkotsu, while my sister and I fished out the noodles, eggs, and cha-shu so we didn't have to endure the salty broth. The egg though was cooked to a perfect jammy yolk. But the cha-shu was overly grilled to my liking. I've had better miso flavored ramen at other restaurants, but this place is not of of them. There is a vegetarian menu as well. Though Ramen Misoya is not for me, it may be for you.

My favorite ramen in the midwest! Tonkotsu broth is excellent, as is the Tokyo Normal Miso. At first I didn't like the fact that pork cha-shu is an upcharge, but we were each able to order 1, 2, or 3 pieces depending on our appetites. Karaage is made with dark meat chicken fried to perfection served with a lovely mayo based sauce and a wedge of lemon. We just drank water, though they offer an assortment of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. We were too stuffed to order dessert. They have mochi ice cream in several flavors. Staff was friendly and the vibe was good.

I really enjoyed my first visit to Ramen Misoya. I came with a few friends and everyone agreed that the ramen was really good! I had the Tokyo Miso Ramen and thoroughly enjoyed the broth and the thick bouncy noodles. Service was great- they were pretty on top of keeping drinks coming when needed and getting our food out nice and fast. The restaurant itself is sort of small, but we got there and did not have to wait for a table. The restaurant did fill up by the time we left. I can't wait to go back!

We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.
