I attended an Arboretum event at WJCT Public Broadcasting. They had a huge Auditorium. First we…read moretravel down a long hallway where we checked out beautiful pictures of the Arboretum along the way. The pictures were stunning! Then I stopped off in the restroom which was clean and smelled fresh. Once inside the large auditorium we enjoyed appetizers and adult beverages. After some mingling there was a presentation. There was a stage in front of the room with a projector screen behind the panelists. I would absolutely attend another event at WJCT!

Interesting (but not surprising) that Florida is 2nd in the nation for scams; as the speakers explained is seniors have the wealth. Ok..maybe; anyway the three speakers were from Homeland Security, FINRA and FBI. The numbers for them should be on the AARP.org/FLFraud site. It was sad hearing how these scammers play older adults and if they send their money out thru Bitcoins...it's gone to some other country and there is little that can be done to get it back! These terrible scammers always make it seem you are in trouble or either with AI, it is a loved one that needs you respond right now! That you need to lie to your bank (where you are taking your money out of) and that is a red flag! Others get scammed bec they think they are going to make all this money and you need to invest...NOW (again this sense of urgency). What everyone should know, no government agency-police, IRS, FBI-will call you to tell you they need your money!
