Planned for a surprise pole dance class for our bride to be and everyone had an extremely awesome time. Marisa does not ever come across as a judgy person and you feel comfortable with everything, though you may not know the moves at all! She made us feel beautiful and we had such a great time with bruises to commemorate this awesome session! I am not sure if it is because we had a small private party that it was not the studio as pictured. We were at Marisa's place which she converted an area to be a private studio with 4 poles. Though small, it was intimate and a great atmosphere - not to mention super reasonable pricing! The small routine she taught was sensual and challenging enough where you want to try it over and over again! The best part was she allowed us to bring/drink some liquid courage, which is super nice and accommodating considering we were here for a bachelorette party! Gorgeous place and amazing instructor Marisa! If it wasn't so far from me I would definitely like to take classes with her on a regular basis. Marisa offers three levels of pole classes: beginning, intermediate, and advanced. I took the beginner class and instantly felt confident and sexy. I felt like I belonged! Marisa and Jasmine are encouraging of women of all capabilities. In addition to dancing, they invite guest instructors to teach new classes (most recently hula hoop!) and host workshops. They also recently added Zumba to the weeknight lineup. The studio is brand new and conveniently located in Woodinville just two minutes off hwy 522. It's on the second floor of a commercial complex with ample parking. The dance space has lots of natural light and mirrors, but is sufficiently private to get your groove on. Check this dance studio out. You'll be glad you did!

Which is very unfortunate.* I have watched this studio grow from the ground up. There is a reason it has seen so much growth and success. The studio owner is dedicated to ensuring that each child is growing and learning at the best challenging pace that they can handle. Many incredible dancers (on a national level) have been produced under the instruction of Ms Augga. The teachers and families are wonderful. The class itself had some fun elements like the parachute and bubbles but a lot of moments that felt not age appropriate (asking them to walk across the floor and point toes multiple times) where most kids in the class had a hard time staying engaged. The storytime too with lots of words on the page, no pictures and the kids were asked to stay behind a line far from the book. This is a hard ask for young toddlers. I think it takes a very calm toddler for this class to be successful or the instructors to use louder/more engaging language (sound effects, singing, etc)

So when I started at Positive Spin three years ago, I was initially intimidated and expected a similar level of intensity. But the vibe here is very different. All the instructors encourage individuality and choosing your own adventure. Tripti, who owns Mishika dance academy is the best dance chroeographer by far in Seattle. I needed a teacher who is great in her dance moves, expressions and energy levels. And i got all that at her class. She evn teaches students who have less dancing skills and within 4 classes, you will notice that you have become dance connoisseurs. Within a month i got to perform in 2 of her major dance shows that had over 300+ crowd. If you are looking to be on stage, then join her performance group. And if you just want to learn dancing, then that is the perfect place to become dancing champions. She is very patient and she will teach you the step until you do not get it right. The best part is she records all of her class videos so you get to see what you did wrong or where you need improvement. Dancing is an art where you need to have high energy level, be graceful and display expressions and in her academy you will lean all of that. She enjoys dance and makes sure you enjoy it too. The student clinic was comfy and spacious but the student massages I received (2 by 2 different therapists) were just average which was disappointing. I understand that as a student you wont be a ROCKSTAR therapist right out the gate but I personally just felt that the massages I had from Cortiva and NW School and a few others were far more advanced in skill than what I received here and I don't want to throw down 10k of my money to just be an "average" therapist. The owner is very pleasant and hands on and seems to have a true passion for the massage school and the industry and art of massage, however, I just felt it was not as deep of a curriculum as what I am looking for in a school. If you are looking for a local, good education to get started then I would recommend this school BUT I would not do it without recommending continued education courses to specialize in more modalities as soon as you graduate. In my opinion, I just felt the curriculum didn't offer the courses I wanted built in to my education for the cost, this school is great for others and many successful therapists come out of it...just not for me. However, once inside, I was impressed by how spacious it was, with three rooms and clean facilities. There were six people in the pole room in my class, and each of us had our own pole. Jewel had great energy and was an excellent instructor. I had a lot of fun freestyling for two full songs, with a short break in between. Everyone there was friendly and had great vibes. Parking was convenient, thanks to the available parking lot.
