Okay, here's the deal... Brisket- great bark and zero smoke. Not much flavor either. The other thing disappointing me on the brisket is that it wasn't rendered enough. The brisket had more moisture than rendered fat, telling me that they took it off too soon and likely cooked it at too high a temp for their smoker. Brisket isn't hard to do well, you just have to follow a few basic rules and can't rush it. The only saving grace here is that they cut it extra thick so I can dice it and smoke it myself to make burnt ends. Pulled Pork- garbage. No flavor and no smoke. I don't recommend it at all. There's no saving this sawdust flavored moisture suck. Smoked beans- save time and money and buy the tubs at Walmart deli. It's probably the same stuff. Again, not really Smokey. Nothing we tried was actually smoked properly. Another example of an Arkansas reaching for a solid mediocre. Maybe it's because nothing here is really good and NW Arkansans have a very low set of expectations. read more

There was a line outside the door when we came which is always a good sign. We are from Texas so completely used to that and always willing to wait for good BBQ. The food was amazing. Do not skip the coleslaw! It's unique and delicious. We got a little bit of everything as far as meats go. The ribs were out of this world. I love the menu on the wall on cardboard boxes... so cute! Most expensive bbq in ark. It's not nearly as good as people say. I've have worse but I've also had much better for less. Simply no excuse to rip people off like this. I've heard a lot of hype about Wright's Barbecue since it first opened, and considering that BBQ isn't a frequent food option for our household, I immediately jumped at my fiancé's offer to eat there. In fact, it was the perfect way to be welcomed home to Arkansas after a trip to NYC. Wright's was exactly as I expected it... rustic interior with a family owned vibe. If you enjoy your brisket layered with marbles of fat, the brisket really was some of the best I've had in the area, and the mashed potatoes were fantastic as well. There's a lot of buzz around Wright's. I went for the first time and was a little disappointed. I had brisket, which was decent, and turkey, which was salty and didn't seem quite smoky enough. Sides were good. My wife had a half rack of ribs, which were very fatty, and though the bark was good, the meat was fairly lackluster. She also didn't care for the vinegar in her slaw. read more

When we moved to Arkansas I went a long time thinking that I would never find really good BBQ. Wright's proved me wrong.

I have been wanting to come here for the longest time, but I did tonight. The atmosphere was great laid back, no rush and the music was just right loud enough to hear and cover conversations, not so loud you had to yell. I got the ribs, Mac and cheese and coleslaw. I've read some reports about the portion sizes being small. I had more than enough and brought home food with me. The ribs were great, a little salty but nothing that would keep me from ordering it again. Lots of meat and great flavor and juicy. The Mac and cheese was perfect cheesy goodness. The coleslaw wasn't over drenched or mushy. I will order this again(and again and again) My sister got the brisket and it was heavenly, so I h will have to get that as well. My favorite bbq place. Get there 5-10 minutes before 11. There may still be a line, but it won't be too long. I'm not crazy about sweet bbq sauces, so I'm not wild about theirs. But their meat needs no sauce. In fact, it should be a sin to use sauce at all. Their pulled pork has a great fresh cracked pepper flavor. It's soooo good. Everything is good there. Except their green beans. But as you can tell, I'm not a fan of sweet foods, so keep that in mind. read more

It's this house and you walk in the front door, and order off the menu written on paper on the wall. When we got there, the line wasn't bad. By the time I ordered, it was out the door. Vibe is super casual. Show up wearing whatever. There's some seating next to the ordering, but I think they also had heated tents and seating elsewhere. Funny framed photos about meat hang around the room. All your classic bbq options and sides. I got the sliced brisket sandwich with a side of chips. It was bomb. I'm still thinking about it several days later. Very moist. You might not see bbq sauce if you're a purist. Pros: - Complimentary cookie with my meal. Yum. - Sandwich and brisket. See description above. - They have the good tiny ice cubes for their fountain drinks. Cons: - They forgot to give my friend her cookie. - I think the "spicy" bbq sauce could have been spicier. The food here is absolutely amazing! It's fresh, delicious, and local! I've tried the Pumba, the Rocketman, the ribs, the pulled pork sandwich, the brisket, the bacon burnt ends, and I haven't found one thing on the menu that I don't love. The sides are amazing as well. I love the mashed potatoes, the mac and cheese, the cole slaw, and tonight I had the roasted veggies which were equally amazing! I especially love that little kids eat free. It's very rare to get out of central Texas and find bbq this good!! I get the same plate (lean brisket, jalapeño sausage, baked beans) at every joint I visit so I can compare. Wrights is off the chart good!! No doubt in my mind if this place had a Texas address it would be in the Texas top 50, and in the better half of that list. Best brisket I've had in a long time. Oh. My. Lordy!!! The experience I just had at Wright's exceeded the hype! So many people telling me "the best BBQ in a 100 mile radius"... I thought "yeah, right". Right when we walked in the door, we were treated like family. Jordan gave us the rundown and recommended the Rocketman to my wife and the Big John for me. Our little guy had the pork sandwich (The Big Kid)... I can't tell you how incredible that brisket was. I will dream about that brisket tonight, I know it!! There was great energy behind the counter and the guys that cashed us out were as personable as my man who welcomed us. And, the gentleman who cleared our table could not had been more pleasant. The service was as exceptional as the food, which is saying something ... My 12 year old's quote: "that destroyed the limits of Flavortown". Can't wait to go back... we missed out on the burnt ends (sold out), but now I have something other than basketball season and Christmas to look forward to. We will also order out catering.
