My wife had been complaining that her transmission seemed to be slipping in her van. So I took it in and had Chad Wright look at it. After keeping it overnight and taking it for an extensive test drive, instead of charging me massive amounts of money and taking advantage of me, Chad was honest. He told me that he could find nothing wrong with the transmission and charged me $0.00. Most transmission shops would have found something wrong and charged me an exorbitant amount of money. Not Wright Transmissions they do transmissions right. You better believe the next time that I have a transmission problem I will be taking all of my vehicles to Chad Wight and Wright Transmissions. Where they do transmissions right!

I brought my 2009 Honda Civic in on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 because my air conditioner was not…read morefunctioning properly. I was greeted by Gary Roos, the manager, who told me they would check out my car for the standard $29.95 AC check fee and let me know what the problem(s) was/were. He even got a person to bring me back to my house and road test the car. Later that afternoon I was contacted and much to my surprise, I was told by Gary that all I needed as a new AC relay fuse, and that I could pick it up myself at the auto store. I did so and when I arrived back at the store, Gary gave the switch to the technician, who installed it. I asked Gary what the charge was, and he told me that it was NO charge at all, since all they had to do was to install the switch that I had purchased it was pointless to charge me for that. After that service I can easily say that this Aamco is a place that I will have no issues bringing my car back for service in the future.

I left a bad review on Google because they didn't have the right fluid. I'm leaving a bad review on…read moreYelp because they lied in their Google response. I came to this AAMCO for a transmission drain and refill. The car dealer only wants to do a high-pressure flush which is not what I want. My vehicle requires a very specific transmission fluid, so before any work started I asked to see the fluid they planned to use. That turned out to be a very smart decision. After some hesitation, the technician finally showed me the fluid, and it was not the correct specification for my vehicle. I then asked whether I could provide the correct fluid myself, and I was told they would only use the fluid they had in stock. Because of that, there was no work done on the car. That alone would have been enough for a poor review. What made it worse was the owner's public response to my Google review. Instead of acknowledging that the shop did not have the correct fluid for my car, the response falsely claimed my transmission had internal problems and suggested that was why the service was not done. That is not true. I was never given any diagnosis of an internal transmission problem. The issue was simple: they did not have the correct fluid and would not allow me to provide it. I've contacted their corporate customer service as well and I await a response. If you are bringing a vehicle here for transmission service, verify exactly what fluid they intend to use before they touch your car. Based on my experience, I would not trust this shop with any transmission service.

I've been to Christian Brothers Automotive in League City twice before and paid $74 and $65…read morerespectively for the same service, the second time even using a coupon. Today, I returned for the same service and was quoted over $160--more than double--because my car is "European." It's worth noting that my vehicle has always been a European model, including during my previous visits. This sudden change in pricing felt arbitrary and inconsistent. Additionally, I've never truly felt welcome at this location. As a person of color, I couldn't help but notice a lack of warmth or inclusivity during each of my visits, which left me feeling uncomfortable. Unfortunately, between the unclear pricing and unwelcoming environment, I won't be returning.

I want to personally thank Elizabeth Morris and her service manager who didn't give me his name…read more I was quoted multiple times at insane prices, treated like i don't know anything (probably cause im a young female with an infant, seeking help at a mechanic). after the first estimate for the repair was more than i could afford (340). i asked for a estimate for the exact repair that was done last time because something didn't sound right, not the repair she stated i needed. The service manager tried to refuse the estimate and told me "have a technician look at it and we will give an estimate" umm no. then you're gunna charge me an extra $175. im not asking for a lot im asking for honesty. With that i kindly requested and received the invoices from the first time it was repaired and the second time (done under warranty). so the service manager was quite rude and not listening to what i was asking. "i had this EXACT part repaired 2 years ago, i know it's known to break, so im asking for a non warranty repair estimate" he looked at me like i had no idea what i was talking about. i may not be a mechanic but i know enough about my car to not get ripped off. he comes back with a quote for $870. this quote states it's for "the specific part" BS!!!!!! i looked the part up on every site i could find and NOT ONCE WAS IT $190, 50-80 yeah maybe but damn near $200 no. i informed them i was told it was covered under warranty after them explaining the policy i said okay let me make a phone call. so i went outside looked over all the papers from prior visits (at the other location) and the current quotes. NOTHING ADDED UP TO THE NEW QUOTES. itook my papers i got my kid back in my car, tossed in more coolant and drove home. ordered the part and fixed it in less than 10 mins and only spent $20 THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO RIP ME OFF! i not only saved myself $300+, i learned a BEYOND SIMPLE repair that i can also do myself. NEVER AGAIN! FYI i'm forced to put a star to leave a review.

This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would strongly caution others before bringing…read moretheir vehicle here. To be clear, it was not my choice to use this shop initially. My original mechanic was unable to diagnose the issue with my car and referred it here. Unfortunately, less than 24 hours after getting my vehicle back, it broke down again. Although the breakdown happened over the weekend, I contacted the shop immediately to inform them of the issue. I never received a follow-up call on Monday and had to reach out myself. I explained multiple times how urgently I needed my vehicle, especially as a single mother with no family nearby to help, and was repeatedly assured that the situation would be handled. When they asked me to tow the vehicle back to their shop at my own expense, I refused. Since the vehicle failed less than 24 hours after their repair, I felt they should take responsibility and arrange pickup--which they eventually did, but only after giving me the runaround all week. My car was not picked up until the following Saturday. I was then told that a transmission hose had been cut and that it would cost an additional $450 to repair, despite the same part being available online for much less. When I asked about the warranty on the original repair, I was told this new issue was not covered. To make matters more confusing, they initially claimed they didn't have the part, then suddenly "found" one--but would not begin work until payment was made. The entire process felt dishonest and inconsistent. Communication was poor, the pricing seemed questionable, and I never felt like I was being given transparent information. What was most concerning was being told I could pick up my vehicle if I left a "good" review. I left a 3-star review because I felt that was fair based on my experience. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I was questioned about why I didn't leave 5 stars and was told they were "doing me a favor." No one was doing me a favor. My car should not have needed to return to the shop less than 24 hours after the initial repair. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
