The course is mainly across the street from the actual park so it's best to park along the road. The course is very technical and has tons of water. Almost every hole has lots of water or at least some swamp like areas. There are many bridges and narrow fairways. It's not the best course for beginners. There are few places you can just let it fly without fear of losing your disc. The course is in pretty good shape. There were no maps in the mailbox at the beginning of the course, so it was tricky a few times figuring out where to go and the last hole was completely confusing. There is a port-a-potty about half way though the course which is nice. The park itself is nice with a play ground, walking trails, biking trails, a gazebo and a rec room that you can rent out for birthdays and such. The park also offers bikes and canoes you can rent. We did not see any alligators but there are "watch out for alligator" signs all over the park and disc golf course.

There is a huge pirate ship, water features to explore, misters, picnic tables, sand area, swings for the kids (& adults!). Restrooms are inside the complex & next door is the sandbox children's museum. Nearby is the beach access also! Literally the best (& also free) day excursion for any family. There are ponds around the area with fountains where we saw an alligator & a plethora of turtles. Definitely a must visit when coming with a family to visit Hilton Head. The boys are already asking to come back!

You can easily drive; it's only a minute off of the main highway to Hilton Head. But once you're there, you're walking into an atmosphere that feels a world away. The official paths are fairly wide and well-maintained, some are roads. The estimates given by signs assumed that you were pretty slow; I made it to the shell point and back in less than half the time they said. But it was still an hour and a half in what it must be said is a pretty hostile environment. You'll want bug spray and sunscreen (preferably bought somewhere inland where it's cheaper than it is in this area). And a lot of water. I never saw so much as a port-a-potty there, and there certainly wasn't any running water. And you need a lot of water. I bet that it's a nicer place to explore during the winter, which is generally quite pleasant in South Carolina, but regardless, the fact that a free space that shows of this fascinating environment is so easily available is worth considering regardless. If you tough it out, the gothic forests and aromatic marshlands will likely leave an impression.

This beach was like no other beach I had been to. Being the…read moreexplorative individual I am, I stumbled upon this beach which I thought would be a perfect spot to spend my birthday exploring. Urghhh not so much...!!!! This place is located in a residential area and I drive around on a unbusy Monday being a work day but, it still took me like 30mins to try to find a park just to enjoy the beach. I was thinking I did t make a good choice for a beach day. Anywho finally after spotting a person pull out from a street parking spot, finally I was able to park. Next venture i had to figure out was how to get to the beach now. Because of road blocks, I ended up having to ask 2 men at a hotel and they directed me which way to go. At this point, I'm starting to feel defeated but, I'm determined. At least, close to an hour later...I see the beach. It did had a water sprouting from the ground, a few swings for couples so nice landscaping. Then there was the beach, sadly it was not at all what I had expected as the water was muddy looking. Also the sand-flies were aggressive & everywhere. I sat on a boat for a few minutes checking out the view but, honestly on this day it was not much to enjoy beside the wedding that was about to take place. After only 10mins sitting, the sand-flies won! I left the beach and walked around and went through a restaurant which I noticed a lovely pool and a Tiki Bar next door. So thought I would grab a cocktail to start celebrating my birthday to but, not before getting bite 5-6 times by the very aggressive sand-flies. Warned: The beach does not offer the most easiest access to get to. I would have preferred going to Orange Beach in AL so, for this reason instead of staying the 2 nights I planned on staying...it would t have been worth the money. I only stayed in Hilton Head 1 night!!!!!!! Please put up signage so, people know where to PARK and BEACH ENTRANCE SIGNAGE so, 1st timers will not be defeated in trying to go to the correct area of the beach. It's not fun feeling like you're in a maze when visiting somewhere new.

Benches are scattered around the wide open space. Restrooms are on the corner and a playground is across the street at DuBois Park. Parking is available between Martin and DuBois parks. A farmers market offers fresh produce and cooked foods on Thursdays year-round between noon and 5pm.

There is a portalet at mile marker one, which I appreciate! We've seen so many migrating birds here - most recently hundreds of ring-necked ducks and green-winged teals. On a warm day, you'll see alligators on the shore. Also within the refuge are several walking trails, a visitor center, and the lovely Kingfisher Pond. The pond has a one mile hiking trail around it and we saw so many birds! The visitor center has extremely limited hours but the rest is the reserve is open from sunrise to sunset.
